TGIF!

I am so excited because this weekend is the Wine + Food Festival!  It is one of my favorite weekends.  Be sure to follow my instagram as I will be sharing snaps from the event!!  Most events are sold out but I believe there are still a few tickets left for the tent event Sunday!

I had originally ordered this dress to wear this weekend for the Festival but looks like it may be too chilly.  I love the dress so I will def be saving it for another event.  I ordered both the white and black and loved both.  I am having a hard time deciding which color to keep but I am leaning towards the white.  It comes fully lined with a slip and is now 40% off.  I am wearing a size small.

Joie Dress also Here

Sterling joined his school tennis team and has been doing such a great job.  He doesn’t love many sports so I am glad we found we semi-likes:)

Dressed up for Dr. Suess day today!

My parents have been in town all week after helping with the kid last weekend while I was in St John.  I took my mom to Butcher and Bee (my favorite lunch spot) and she loved it.  We tried out the Turmeric ting juice and it was amazing.  It was a mix of coconut water, turmeric, and cayenne.

I have been using this face cream and love it.  It smells amazing and really hydrates your skin.

Chanel Cream

Several of you wanted to know about the chiropractor and my experience.  I have gone 3 times now and feel like it has really helped.  I originally went because I was having bad lower back pain.  He adjusted my back and has been working on loosening up my lower back muscles.  He said my lower back was sprained.  He does a combination of cracking my back, pushing on muscles to loosen them and using the table to realign my back.  Then after St John my neck and shoulder were killing me.  After seeing him once the next day they were better. The neck cracking freaked the crap out of me but it worked.  For locals wondering I went to Dr. Basset at Harborview Chiropractor.  Several friends recommended him and he has been great.

I ordered this dress and these shoes from the Shopbop sale and love both.  I also ordered these sunglasses, my friend Krystine had them and I LOVED them.  The sale ends tomorrow use code GOBIG17 to save.

I am hoping to wear the dress to a Wine and Food event today.

Dress + Sandals

A few of you wanted to know about the goody bags I made Sterling and Frances before I left town.  Whenever I leave town I try and do this as a treat for them (and to make me feel less guilty for leaving).  I remember when my parents traveled they would leave us goodies and my dad would even leave us a note for each day they were gone.  It suck with me and I like to do the same for the kids.  I usually just go to the drugstore and get a few small things.  I do small toy, a coloring or art book, a piece of their favorite candy, and sometimes a small stuffed animal.

My sweet girl.

Have a great weekend!

Happy last Friday of 2016!  What a year!  As always thank you to each and everyone of you who read my blog.  I love all the connections I have made through the blog world.  This blog is my creative outlet and happy place.  I look forward to 2017 and what it has in store.  If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see on my blog in the next year I would love suggestions.  Email me or leave a comment!

A few pics from Christmas.  This year I tried to unplug a bit over the holidays and not have my phone out as much so I didn’t take a ton of pictures.

Cookies and carrots for Santa and his Reindeer.

All the cousins.

My parent’s Christmas tree, it is even more stunning in person.  Tree goals.

I wore this cold should sweater for Christmas Eve paired with some festive necklaces.

Sweater also in stripe and pink | Metallic Strands | Collar necklace

My parent’s celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary 2 days after Christmas.  How cute are they??

I have a wedding come up in February and I am searching for a fun new dress.

I love this Ted Baker dress.

I wanted to share a picture of the back of the Vince Blouse I shared Tuesday.  It is now 60% off and such a great classic staple to add your closet.  I love the back detail. It runs on the large side, I am wearing a size 2.

Vince Blouse also HERE

New candle I picked up that smells amazing.   I always like a fresh candle for the New Year.

Voluspa Candle

Favorite workout top is back in stock and out in this new pink color.

Twist Front Tee

I am loving this Mara Hoffman that is now reduced.  Looks like it may be a bit short as a dress so I would pair it with skinny jeans or leggings.

Mara Dress

I am planning on indulging this weekend but getting back on track Monday.  I used this cookbook a lot last January it is great for clean eating but not depriving yourself.  The recipes are really good.

Bon Appetit Food Lovers Cleanse

I am totally addicted to Carpool Karaoke.  I can’t stop watching every episode several times.

Gigi New York is running their End of Year Closet sale.  Lots of great pieces and they are 30-40% off.  You can shop all the sale HERE

The convertible clutch, one of my favorites is now 50% off in many colors.  I love that you can carry it as a cross body or remove the straps and carry it as a clutch.

TGIF!  I am excited for the weekend and the fact that it is getting a little cooler here- like under 80, yes please!  The kids are dying to see the new Trolls movie so I am hoping to do that one day this weekend.

We had a fun Halloween only bummer was it was on a school night.  Both kids had last minute costume changes.  Next year no joke I am not buying their costumes til the day before.  Frances ended up going as a princess and Sterling was a zombie rocker.  He was bent on creating his own unique costume- gotta love his creativity:)

We were cleaning out the garage and the kids found Matt’s old Halloween costume from college and insisted he wear it.  He obliged and we called him a wiener all night:)

Scored this tank at Target– perfect for halloween.  It is only $12, I wear it to the gym too.

Made Tomato/Zucchini Pie for dinner this week.  I crave these every few weeks.  Frances Moon loves it as much as I do and gobbles it up.

The den is finally coming together.  Loving my recovered chairs and pom-pom throw.

Throw | Pillows

We had a playdate after school the other day.  Frances Moon and her friend Anna Louis are the sweetest together.

Two recent OOTD’s.

I originally bought this tee for the gym but I have loved it equally for causal wear with jeans.

Tee Shirt | Necklace | Jeans | Flip Flops | Tote | Ring

Tee Shirt | Scarf  (only $19) | Jeans | Pumps

The new Beauty Counter Holiday gift sets were just released and they are so good.  I ordered a few and I will report back after I try them.  I am super pumped about this lipgloss set.  BC lipgloss is my favorite because it is not sticky.  Frances loves it too:)  All of these colors are great.

Lip Gloss Set

I am in a major book rut.  I want something good to read but not too heavy.   Any recommendations?   I just finished Jane Green’s Falling and really liked it.  Her books are always easy reads.

A few pink pretties:

I love these pink calf hair pumps and they are on sale 40% off right now with code BRFAMILY.  They come in several other colors too.  They run TTS.

Purse | Shoes | Earrings | Lipstick in Dusty Rose | Lip Gloss in Rose

Have a great Friday!

TGIF.  This week has been all sorts of off to me because of the hurricane.  We have been playing catch up, cleaning up our yard, and just trying to get back in a routine.  We had to throw away everything in our fridge because the power was out for so long so I have been working on slowly refilling it.  We lost a lot of food but it is nice to have a clean fridge and start fresh.  I am thinking about and praying for all those people still dealing with flooding and trying to clean up the hurricane, I know so many had it worse than us.

Frances Moon has been full of herself as usual.  She dressed herself in this outfit for school and was so proud.  Her vest and shoes are Old Navy.

I finally finished Laine Moriarty’s Truly Madly Guilty and I have to say I really didn’t love it all.  It was so drawn out and kind of an anti-climatic ending.  I loved her other two books I read and this was one was disappointing.  I have since started Jane Green’s Falling and I am already hooked.  Two nights in and I can’t wait to get in bed and read at night.  That is the sign of a good book.

This tee shirt is a new find and only $19.  It is great alone or layered under vests and sweaters.  It comes in 5 other colors.  I bought a size small.

Tee Shirt

It also comes in a turtleneck version, only $25.

I finally got by the new Butcher and Bee this week.  You may remember it has always been a favorite restaurant of mine for lunch.  They moved into a new space and I was able to check it out and loved it.  The menu was perfection and I loved the light airy space.  I am sure I will be a regular here.

 Sunglasses on sale.

I had a combination of veggies from the Mezze section.  They were all so good.  I had the kale slaw, pear salad, and carrots.

We also tried the crispy olives which were olives stuffed with cheese and anchovies, lightly fried and then served over pesto with parmesan cheese- holy yum.  These rocked my world.

Recent Outfit this week.

Plaid Shirt | Necklace | OTK Boots | Jeans on sale | Purse

My next door neighbor, Rick Dean who does a lot of my blog and family photos had one of my readers recently contact him about a family shoot.  They were in town from Maryland and wanted a family shoot out at Kiawah.   The pictures turned out just gorgeous and how sweet are the kids?     I mean that background is beyond.   If you need Christmas or family pics Rick is da man.

I am headed to NYC next week with my mom, sister and sister in law for a girls trip!  I am so excited I can hardly stand it!  We have most of our meals planned out but I would love any recs of fun places for a cocktail or favorite shops!

I have been on the hunt for comfy shoes for walking around NYC.  I ordered this pair from the Shopbop Sale.

Joie Sneakers

Then I come across this Ugg pair and they look so comfy.  I am torn, I may order them too and see which feel better on my feet.

Ugg Slip Ons

I took the kids to Sugar after school this week.   I forgot how amazing their cupcakes are and how I have zero restraint there.  I went thinking I won’t eat a cupcake I will just buy one a piece for the kids and 6 cupcakes and 2 cookies later we left:)  I wanted to sample everything.

Afterwards we stopped in Open Door Shop.  It is my favorite entertaining store in town.  I had ordered a few new serving pieces to pick up.  How pretty is their front door color?

These are the two serving pieces I picked up.  Terrafirma are my favorite serving platters.  They are all I use when I entertain.  They come in so many different patterns and best part they are dishwasher safe!   This size bowl is great for salads and the platter is perfect for a cheese spread or mini appetizers.

Today is the last day for the ShopBop Sale.  So far I have done 2 orders and I am restraining myself from ordering more.   Scroll through to see my favorites:

TGIF!!  We have been in Charlotte for the week visiting my family but we are excited to get back for a fun weekend.

We decided to come to Charlotte and do a little back to school shopping for the kids.  When I was growing up my mom and grandmother always took us and I loved it.  So I love being able to recreate that tradition with my kids.

Who else watched the Bachelorette Finale?  I did and I had a feeling she would choose Jordan, I am betting they don’t last long.   I am also pumped The Bachelor Pad started back up- it’s so horrible it’S good.   Chad has already provided some good entertainment. Wine + The Bachelorette is my idea of a good evening.

I am tottaly obsessed with Instagram stories.  I could never quite figure out snap chat and this seems so much user friendly to me.  I like that is also all in one app so I don’t have to switch back and forth.

We made one of my favorite Kale Salads for dinner while I was home- you can find the recipe HERE.  It is really good and it holds up well in the fridge it doesn’t get soggy!

I am currently scheming ideas for Frances Moon’s big girl room and this is one I have saved for  for inspiration.

I don’t normally have much luck for me in the Lily store (I love it for Frances Moon)  but I fell in love with this yellow embroidered dress.   It runs TTS, I am wearing a size small.

Embroidered Dress

I wore it out for a girl’s night with my mom and sister.

My sister is wearing my Off Shoulder Dress + Tassel Earrings

I am wearing Dress + Sandals

We tried out Cork Buzz a new wine bar in the South Park area.  We all really enjoyed it.  We sat outside and had wine flights and appetizers.

My Sunglasses are still on sale til Sunday and they restocked all the colors including the pink!

We loved the goat cheese dumplings, shisto peppers, and bacon spring rolls.  We also had the corn dip and cauliflower and loved them too.

I was excited to actually be able to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in person while I was in Charlotte and I picked up a few things.

I had eyed this sweater online since the sale started and once I tried it on, I knew I needed it.

It is so soft and will be perfect for Fall.  Size down it runs on the large side, I am wearing an XS.  I think it will be great paired with skinny jeans or even leggings and and a long tee or tunic.

Leopard Sweater + Sandals 70% off

Also loved this adorable dress and it’s only $24 right now!

It comes in 5 color options.  Since it was Juniors I sized up to a medium.

Cowl Neck Dress

I bought these Pj’s  for Sterling and they are so so soft!  On sale and only a few sizes left.

Sailboat PJ’s also in Outer Space Pattern.

While I was home my mom found these dresses my grandmother brought us back from Hawaii probably 30 years ago at least.  Mine actually fit Frances and I was dying over how cute she was in it!!

If you hate to iron like I do you must get this hand held steamer.  I have been using mine non-stop.  It heats up quickly and really works to get all the wrinkles out of my dresses and blouses.  It is small so it is easy to pack.  Matt likes to use it on his work shirts too.  It is on major sale right now.

Steamer

The Nordstrom Sale ends in 3 days.  Scroll through see my favorites and many items I purchased!

Have a great weekend!

TGIF.  This weekend we have lots of fun stuff going on.  My parents are in town, Matt is in a fishing tournament and we have a party Saturday afternoon.

On Tuesday night we had our girl’s supper club.  We usually rotate houses but decided during the Summer just to meet out somewhere.  We tried out Barsa and loved it.  All the tapas were delicious and this was the best paella I have ever had.  A great spot for wine and nibbles.  I loved their outdoor patio area where we ate.

They also had a very tasty cheese and meat platter where you choose what cheeses and meats you prefer.

What I wore:

Dress | Necklace | Sandals

Who else is hooked to the Bachelorette?  I love JoJo and think she is so cute.  Her hair always looks so perfect.

Who are y’all pulling for Robbie or Jordan.  I feel pretty sure she will chose Jordan he has seemed like her favorite from the beginning.  I feel like if she chooses him though it won’t last.

I found the cutest red dress at Madewell now on sale.  Size down as it runs on the large side, I am in a size XS.  It is a great dress for now and into Fall.

Available  HERE and HERE

The kids and I hit up Citadel Mall this week.  Every time I go there I am amazed it is still open, it is the saddest mall ever.  I still don’t understand why Charleston doesn’t have a good mall.  The only redeeming aspect is the photo booth.  We had a blast taking pictures.

Last night we had dinner over at my parent’s place since they were in town.  We love the deck at their condo.  The marsh view is so pretty.

Outfit Details:

My off shoulder blouse is currently 40% off, no code needed.  I am wearing a size small.

Off Shoulder Blouse | Shorts | Sandals

I have been very diligent about my diet all week.  I have been working on post where I will share a sample menu of what I have been eating.  The main things I have tried to avoid are processed foods and carbs.  Last night we made our favorite cauliflower tacos and used lettuce instead of flour shells.  They were actually so good wrapped in lettuce I didn’t even miss the shells.

Next I want to try out cauliflower nachos.  These look amazing.

Nachos

I have been on a major reading kick lately.  Below are a few books I have read over the past few months.  For the most part they are all pretty light and easy Summer reads. The Nightingale was heavy but such a good story.  Any recommendations of what to read next?

books

800 Grapes | First Comes Love | The Singles Game | After You | Love and Lemons

Then Came You | The Nightingale | The Weekenders | The Nest | Summer Secrets

I have been kind of obsessed with taking videos of the kids lately.  I feel like they are growing up so fast and I want to remember these sweet ages.  Lately Frances Moon keeps telling me she is not a baby and I had to record it.

Don’t miss out on the Serena and Lily Tent Sale!  Everything is 40-75% off.  Scroll through to see my favorites.  There are some really awesome deals on bedding especially.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/lookbook.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof(window.__lookbook) === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__lookbook.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘lookbook-script’);

Happy happy Friday!  This weekend we have plans to hit up the Farmers Market and a date night with a few other couples.

I am always on the lookout for cute tee shirts for during the day.  I like to pair them with jeans or shorts with fun jewelry for a cute casual look.  This tee is a new favorite.  I love the fit of it, it is not too tight or too big and it has a slightly longer back.  I am wearing the almond color which is such a great neutral.  It runs pretty TTS, I am wearing a size small.

FP Tee

I am addicted this new flavor of Lacroix- Blackberry + Cucumber.  It is so refreshing.

Flower shopping with my girl.

Now that the weather is warmer it has me craving Tomato pie one of my all time favorite Southern Recipes.  We had it for dinner this week paired with Banshee Chardonnay.  I love all Banshee wines.

You can find the Tomato Pie recipe under my recipes tab:)

I just got  my girl Gwennie’s new cookbook and I am so excited to try some of the recipes.  There were so many that looked amazing.

A recent outfit this week.

I love the pattern and colors of this blouse.   I have been wearing the wedges non-stop.  My parents gave me them for my birthday and they rock.  The heel isn’t too high and they are so comfortable!

Blouse | RM Purse | DV Wedges | Ring | Jeans

We got Sterling’s school pictures back this week and I could not stop laughing.  I forgot it was picture day and he went to school in workout leggings, a tee shirt that says “taco bout awesome”, and a fake hand tattoo.  That outfit paired with the cheese fake background is just too good.  You better believe I ordered several copies!  and side note why do schools insist on these cheesy backgrounds??

I don’t shop in Ann Taylor often but when I saw this Pineapple blouse through the window I knew I needed it.  I love the blush color paired with the pineapples.

Blouse | Shoes | Earrings | Jeans

I am always looking for cute hair bows to keep Frances Moon’s hair out of her face.  I prefer the smaller simple ones and these are some of our new favorites.  They actually really stay in place too. You can shop the Etsy site here called Camiandco.

This is style we prefer, but there are lots of other cute styles and some really sweet baby headbands that would make a great gift.

The strawberries from our Farmers Market have been so good lately.  Perfectly juicy and sweet.  I have been looking for new ways to use them and can’t wait to try this recipe for crostini with goat cheese, mint, strawberries and balsamic vinegar.

I also think this Strawberry Moscow Mule sounds amazing- so refreshing!

Lastly three of my dresses that I wear often were just reduced.

The white dress I wore last weekend is newly reduced- I am wearing a small.

The weather has been amazing here all week.  I swear it puts me in better mood.  I think it is so true vitamin D is good for you!

Target has been on point lately with the little girl’s stuff.  I found this dress in store and could not believe it was under $20.  I promise it is even cuter in person. The material is nice and thick with embroidery.

Embroidered Dress

Pink Chicken just teamed with Target too.  The line is beyond adorable.  I ordered Frances a few things that I can’t wait to arrive.

A few of my favorites.

Watermelon Dress

Ice Cream Bubble

Two Piece

Tie Dye

The kids and I enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Ellis Creek Fish Camp last night.  They love all the games there and the view is amazing. We shared a fried shrimp and fried oyster basket and it was delicious.

I ordered this Lily dress for Frances for Easter and she has insisted on wearing it the past two days.  I guess I chose well, I loved the vintage feel of the pattern.  She is also chapstick addicted these days, she loves to pretend put it on:)

I made a really easy couscous salad for lunch this week just using items in my fridge.  I used Israeli Couscous + cherry tomatoes + cucumber + red onion + kalamata olives + orange bell pepper + fresh mozzarella and parsley.  Then I drizzled olive oil and red wine vinegar ( and salt and pepper) over it.  Super easy and tasty.

I am really digging this bathroom with the graphic wallpaper and thick marble slab.

My favorite rose (Moulin De Gassac Gulihem) just came back out with a new vintage, so I was happy to enjoy a glass outside.

Wearing BR Sandals that are now 40% off with code BRCFIT

I am tempted to order the heel version since they are on sale.

I love idea of the green or bright blue for a fun pop of color.

The kids have been all about all the Easter treats that are out right now, so one day after school I let them choose one treat.  They of course both choose peeps on a stick.   They had more fun sword fighting them than eating them.

Frances Moon’s Dress is Petit Peony (their spring line is amazing) + Mocs

Did anyone else love Rainbow Brite when they were kids?  I saw this display at Hallmark and I can’t explain how excited it made me.  I loved Rainbow Brite when I was younger! I want to go back and buy a few things to surprise the kids with!

I stopped in Loft this week and they had some really cute tops and dresses.  I bought a few things including this off shoulder top- I know I clearly have an addiction to off shoulder tops!

Stripe Off Shoulder Top

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Friday!  I feel like this week has flown by!

I have to brag a little about Frances Moon and her first modeling gig with Pink Chicken.  I am such a huge fan of pink Chicken so when they asked Frances to be their model I was thrilled!  The new Spring line came out this week and her pictures are online!

I can’t even handle the cuteness.  I want one of each of all the new Spring outfits!

Last night I took Sterling on a Mommy son date.  We went to dinner at Mex One and then to see Toruk, the new Cirq de Soliel show.

They are in town through Sunday and I highly recommend it! You can still buy tickets Here for this weekend.

I am wearing:

Joie Blouse | Hyla Dewitt Necklace | McGuire jeans | Newbury Booties

The show was really cool.  A little weird but aren’t all Cirq De Soleil shows a little far out??  The scenery and costumes were amazing!! Sterling said it was one of the coolest things he had seen.  He was mesmerized.

The kids met up at intermission for funnel cakes and dipping dots ice cream.  They were in hog heaven.

A few recent favorites.

Blouse (40% off) | Mcguire Jeans | Le Specs Sunglasses | Target Shoes | Annabel Ingall Tote

I can’t stop laughing about this picture of Frances Moon and her friend Anna Louis.   They clearly were not happy with the wheat flour I used in the cookies.

I have been on a roll organizing around these house.  I ordered these drawer organizers and they are awesome for your underwear and socks.  I love opening my drawers now without crap spilling out everywhere.

My friend Marquin just came out with a new series of paintings that are stunning.  She did a painting for us that is hanging in our kitchen over my desk and I love it.  I am such a huge fan of her work! You can check out her site HERE and other paintings.

I am thinking about making these banana PB snacks for the kids this weekend.  How good do they look??

This Joie Dress that I got for Christmas is now on sale.  The perfect little white dress!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Food is clearly my first favorite F word:)

Hooray for the long weekend.  Sterling has been telling anyone and everyone all about Martin Luther King and why he is important and that makes me so proud.

Thank you for all the sweet comments about my post yesterday.  I plan to do a follow up post on meal planning and when I actually cook and prepare meals.

If you love white blouses as much as I do, this one is a must.  I love the shoulder details. It runs slightly on the larger side, I am wearing an XS,  It also is slightly sheer, I am wearing a white camisole under mine.  Right now the blouse is on sale for $36!

Loft Blouse | Jeans | Leopard Pumps (on sale)

also really digging this version that comes in white and black, also only $36.

One of my favorite entertaining stores in Charleston, Open Door Shop,  just recently moved to a new location at 78 Line Street.  The kids and I stopped in this week and I wanted everything! You can also shop online here if you aren’t local!

The prettiest coral front door greets you.

I love everything they carry.

I always stop in for my favorite Terrafirma serving pieces, I actually picked up 2 more this week!

They also carry Hyla Dewitt Jewelry, who I am huge fan of.

You have to check out Harrison Blackford’s art studio in the back as well.  I fell in love with her custom pillows and art.

I tried a new Vegan restaurant this week, Gnome Cafe and I can already tell I am going to be a regular.  My friend Katie and I shared the taco salad and Thai salad and both were amazing.

I just downloaded The Room and All the Light We Cannot See to read,  Any other fab book requests?

I have had pink on the brain lately.  I am loving this gorgeous pink print by Cynthia Rowley.

 Cynthia Rowley Dress.

Off Shoulder Top

Confession, I just ordered Justin Beiber’s Cd.  Every time I hear one of his new songs,  I love it!! I especially grew found of him after watching his Carpool Karaoke.

In pure heaven because I got to finally meet my new nephew Rutledge this week.  How sweet is Sterling gazing at him?? Melts my heart.

I found the perfect Beach Bag and matching towel for Summer. Just ordered both as I know we will be living at the pool all Summer!

My mom made this Crock Pot soup last night and it was so good.  It was filled with quinoa, butternut squash, chicken, and beans!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  My one of my best friends is in town this weekend and I can’t wait to hang out with her and her family!! We have lots of fun stuff planned.

Since we talked about Thanksgiving sides yesterday I found this one on Pinterest I may have to try out.

Kale, Mushroom, and Wild Rice Casserole

I have been reading Me Before You for about a week now.   It is a great read and thought provoking  about living as a paraplegic and quality of life.  I can’t wait to read the sequel that just came out next.

I have to be honest for a long time I kind of snubbed Loft.  I thought it was a store geared towards older women.  Then I started seeing several people and celebrities wearing items from Loft that were cute, really cute.  So I stopped in and have been hooked ever since.

Loft is having 40% off the entire site today. No code just enter your email address.

I have found some really cute stuff there lately and you can’t beat the prices.  A few of my favorite recent purchases:

Tunic Sweater in Cocoa Cream wearing XS

Peacock Blouse wearing XS

This pink blouse is the same style as the Peacock.  It is one of my favorite style blouses at Loft.  I like  that their is no collar and the fit is nice.

Collarless Blouse

Dot Blouse XS

Frances Moon and her sweet friend Anna Louis after school.  They are the sweetest.

Dress is Gap Kids

Caught my little man snoozing last night with all his friends. I love how he lines them all up:)

I stopped in Target this week to buy some globe lights for our pergola and of course had to browse. Their Christmas collection is on point this year.  There were so many decorations I wanted.  I couldn’t resist this adorable Advent Calendar for the kids.

I am currently working on Sterling’s room and making some changes.  It has not been updated since he was 2.5 and he wants some big boy updates.  I just ordered this adorable duvet cover and pillows- thank goodness he choose something I actually like too. I found them at a new to me site called Unison Home.

New favorite breakfast.  Thank you to whoever recommended adding a fried egg to my avocado toast.  Matt and I love adding jalapenos to our toast it gives it great flavor.

This Sweater + Necklace are on repeat lately.  As in I have worn them 3 times this week.

TGIF Friends!  Hard to believe next weekend is Halloween!

We have no real plans tonight but we have a date night planned for tomorrow night and my parents are keeping the kids overnight- it will be such a treat to sleep in.

Papa ZuZu’s has quite possibly the best Greek Salad in town.  I used to pick this up all the time when I was pregnant because it was close to my doctor’s office but I had not had it since.  I picked it up this week and devoured it.

This JCrew turtleneck has been on repeat lately.  I love the loose boxy fit.

The kids talked me into buying this eyeball balloon at the grocery store.  I have to say it was excellent purchase, it has kept them entertained for days.  They love to bring it everywhere with us.

I met a few girlfriends at Edmunds Oast for drinks and apps Wednesday night.  The first time I ate here I was disappointed in my meal this time it was much better.  The cheese and meat plate was delish.

Found a new favorite blouse at Loft this week.

I bought it in two colors. Runs on the large side size down.

Collarless Blouse | Necklace is Julie Vos

I snapped this picture of Frances sleeping.  I love that she is sleeping with her legs crossed and cuddling her baby.  She always tosses her blanket off. It melted my heart.

I am hooked on these new coconut oil face wipes from RMS Beauty.  I usually use coconut oil to remove my makeup but these are so much easier.  A little trick is I cut mine in half to make them last longer.   They are great for travel or just being on the go.

Gap Kids has the cutest stuff right now.  A few things I snagged for Frances Moon.

I think I am going to put her in the plaid dress for Christmas pictures. Loving the penguin print too.

Use code WARM for 40% off all purchases.

Plaid dress | Penguin Dress | Geo Sweater Dress | Penguin Blouse

I decided to download and read Andy Cohen’s book for a lighter change of pace.  It is written in a diary style and I am enjoying his stories and honesty. It’s pretty darn funny.

The Tory Burch Private Sale started yesterday.

These cardigans are my favorite.  I just this white version.  I love the long loose fit.

Simone Cardigan

a few other favorites.  Such good deals many items are 70% off.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/lookbook.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof(window.__lookbook) === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__lookbook.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘lookbook-script’);

I have a hair appointment in a two weeks and I am still considering a long bob.  I found this picture of Molly Sims and it is exactly what I want.  Not too long or too short.

Happy Friday!

Thoughts For Friday

Yippee for Friday!! Even though this was a short week for some reason it still felt long to me.

This weekend we are having family game night tonight (our Friday night tradition) and Saturday I have a fun girls day planned with an overnight stay at Kiawah!

This week Frances started school.  She will be going 3 mornings this week.  I am happy to have a few hours alone and she loves going and playing with her little friends.

I of course could not resist a leopard book bag for her.

Several of you asked about her bubble.  I bought it at a local store here called Open House, but found the seller on Etsy as well HERE. | Moccasins

Matt and I started the series Narcos.  When Matt suggested it I was like um, no thank you but after episode one I was hooked.  We have already watched half the season.

For the past 3 days I have been doing a juice cleanse.  I have never done one before but always wanted to.  After an indulgent Summer I was ready to cleanse. Next week I will share all the details and how it went for me.  I wanted to share my new manicure color that coincidentally matched my juice exactly.

Nail Color is OPI A to Zurich and shoes are Steve Madden (similar)

Last weekend I finally got to try out a new Restaurant near our House, Ellis Camp Fish House.  It was so delicious with gorgeous views.

I highly recommend the fried okra and portobello fries.

My mom snapped this picture before dinner.

T-Bags Blouse (on sale in pink) | Jeans (under $100) | Purse

Since Loft started their 40% Fall event I stopped in yesterday for some goodies.

Lots of cute stuff!  Everything is still 40% off use code FALLSTYLE.

This blouse is the perfect blush shade and I finally snagged the tote I had wanted.

Blouse | Tote

A view of the blouse on.

These two are so ready for Halloween.  Skeleton jammies are in full effect.

New sandwich obsession, the Turkey Brie Croissant at Brown Dog Deli.  Simply amazing.

There are so many things I love about Sterling and remind me of me when I was little.  Lately he has been laying out his outfits before school right down to the socks and it just makes my heart melt.  I used to do the same thing before school.  He is an organized fella like his mom:)

These Rack Room Batman shoes have been on major repeat.

I finished reading Jennifer Weiner’s Who do You Love and loved it.  Now I am reading Luckiest Girl Alive .  So far I am loving it.  I read Reese Witherspoon just bought the rights to make it into a movie.

I can not believe it has been 14 years since 9/11.  Praying for all those today who lost loved ones on that horrible day.  I still remember so vividly what I was doing when the planes crashed. It will forever be ingrained in my mind.  Never forget.

Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Aug 21, 2015

Happy Friday and TGIF.  This has been a super long week.  With Sterling starting school back our days have been starting a lot earlier (like 5:30 am early).  I am a morning person for sure but getting up an hour earlier than I normally do has been an adjustment.  I am trying to get into a routine and get used to our new schedule but it takes time. What am loving is since I drop Sterling off so early I can accomplish so much in the morning afterwards.  I am usually done grocery shopping by 8:15!

I snapped this picture Monday morning before we took him to his first day of kindergarten.  He looks so grown up to me. I am happy to report he loves school and his class.  He even came home yesterday and said his new school was way more fun than his old school:)

We had a lot of work done to our dining room last week.  I wanted to share a sneak peek of the progress so far.  We had the bead-board ripped out and sheet rock installed, the room painted Decorators White and the hutch/Buffet was painted Coventry Gray with new hardware.  More updates to come as the other pieces arrive.  The Minted Ocean artwork is one of my favorite parts of the room.

I just picked up one of these beauties to go in the corner. Now to find a pot.

One of my favorite Alice and Olivia Dresses was just reduced to 40% off.

Alice and Olivia Color block Dress

I finally made homemade zucchini fries.  They were so darn good and the kids gobbled them up.  We dipped ours in Rao’s Marinera.

Parmesan Zucchini Fries

New obsession in the morning and at night this this Thin Tea Detox Tea.  It is all natural and caffeine free.  I love the little spoon it comes with to steep your tea.  I swear it helps with bloating.

I just started reading Jennifer Weiner’s New Book, Who do You Love and I am really liking it so far.

Just ordered these shoes.  Pretty excited about packing them next week for NYC.  They also come in a taller wedge version that is gorgeous.

Jeffery Campbell Sandals

Since Sterling has been in school I have had lots of one on one time with Frances this week.  I have loved every minute but man I forgot how hard this age is. She is so busy and non-stop!!

I saw this girl at the Apple store this week wearing these leggings.  I imediaelty asked her where they were from.  Honestly I thought they were thew new Mara Hoffman active or Lululemon.  When she told me they were Target, juniors section I was shocked!!  I tried to order my size but it was sold out so I am off to the store to find a pair!

Target Leggings (they also come in 3 other patterns)

Matt and I just started Bloodline this week.  Has anyone watched?  Seems a bit slow starting but still really liking it.

Have a great weekend!

Jun 26, 2015

I have been wanting to write about the tragic event that happened here last week but every time I tried to I just wanted to cry.  I did not grow up in Charleston but after 8 years here I consider Charleston my home.  I absolutely love it here and have no plans to ever leave.   It is a magical city filled with so much historic charm and Southern hospitality.

My mind can not even comprehend what would make someone want to murder that many people.  Its shocks me to my core.  What makes someone do that??  I think about those 9 people who lost their lives every single day.  9 good souls that were just trying to learn at bible study.  My heart breaks for their families left behind.  In such a tragic situation you would think no good would come out of it but I am so proud of our city and how everyone has bonded together.  Charleston is resilient, Charleston is strong, Charleston has so much love to offer.  There is more good than evil in the world and we have to remember that.

This picture is truly amazing.  The show of love and unity our community has showed the last week is outstanding.  So very proud of this city I am lucky enough to call home.

Now on a lighter note:

I finally caught back up on my OC Housewives.  Can I just say how happy I am they are back.  Heather’s new home blows my mind, who needs 14 bathrooms???    I can’t believe Vicki is still with Brooks and if he is lying about cancer that is crazy- run Vicki!  Tamara had like her 10th boob job but could care less.  Love the new girl who is clearly more into her husband than he is to her.  Can’t wait for a drama filled season.

I have to say Rodney has been fitting right in here.  The kids just adore him and he is so good with them.  Sterling’s crab sheets are on sale right now, they are a favorite round here.

This little lady had her 18 month check up this week.  How is it possible she is almost 2??  She was 97th percentile for height and weight.  They gave her two shots and she did not shed one tear.  She looked at the nurses like is that all you got??  Such a tough cookie.

Wearing Little Adi and Co

I am hoping to make this Summer Garden White Bean Dip this weekend.  How amazing does it look?

Last night I finally had the chance to try Chez Nous a little French restaurant downtown.  They have a new menu everyday that they post on instagram.  It really was a treat to dine here.  The food and service were excellent.

We started with the cheese special and the most delicious bottle of rose.

After that I had the melon and crab salad + chicken ravioli.  Both were delicious.

I wore my Pink Stitch maxi dress.  I have mentioned this dress before but it is a favorite of mine.  I wore it all while I was pregnant and still love it not pregnant.

Pink Stitch Maxi | Crescent Necklace | Claire V Clutch

With my girls Caycee and Krystine.

On instagram several of you asked about my nail polish color.  I went super neon before vacation for my toes and nails.  I did both in colors from the China Glaze line.  They make the best neon nail colors.

The Gigi New York Summer Sale just started!  You can take 25% off all the Summer Colors!

My everyday bag, The Bucket Tote in Dessert Rose is included in the sale.  It is one of my favorite bags!

Yesterday we finally busted out our Zoku Quick Popsicle maker.   We purred peaches and bananas to make pops and they were so good.  I love that the quick machine has the pops ready in 7 minutes.  Perfect for impatient kids.

Happy Friday!

Who else is excited for the weekend?  We have fun Easter plans both Saturday and Sunday!

My sweet Sterling lost his second tooth! We knew it was coming soon since the x-rays at the dentist showed his bottom 2 permanent teeth coming in. He was so excited:)

We have been in Charlotte this week and I stopped in an amazing home store, Slate Interiors.  I loved everything!!  Such cool vintage pieces. If you live in Charlotte or are visiting it is located on Central Ave.

Have you all seen the adorable Pom-Pom totes at Old Navy?  So cute!

This week I made Ina Garten’s Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus with truffle butter.  It was amazing.  I highly recommend.  We served it as an app for Happy Hour.  This Chloe Pinot Grigio is also really good!

We did an Easter Egg at my parents house and my sweet Dad made the kids baskets just like we had growing up.  I still need to paint them, but they are so special.

Sterling decided to decorate my mom’s pot and I was pretty impressed with his art skills.

Found the cutest Romper at JCrew, it has tassels on the ties.

Frances in her sweet embroidered romper from Gap:)  Currently 40% off with code NEW.

While I was in Charlotte I stopped in The Wine Store, one of my favorite wine stores because they have tasting machines so you can try before you buy.  If you like rose I recommend the Lafage, ts awesome!

Can’t stop dreaming about this Palm Print Mara Hoffman Dress.

The ct out back is stunning.

Found the cutest shades for Sterling and Finley.

Have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Ahh It’s Friday. I don’t why but this week has seemed super long!  I am thankful for the weekend and some sun!! I have big plans to try and plant my vegetable garden this weekend weather permitting.

First I want to say thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday on my blog or instagram.  Ya’ll seriously made my day.  I felt so much love.  So far 35 ain’t that bad!

My sister sent me a bottle of champagne that Matt and I enjoyed and my parents, my in laws and Matt all sent me flowers. I honestly cried when I came home to all the flowers, I just felt so blessed and loved.

Matt took the kids and I out to dinner for my birthday. It was chaotic but loved having the whole family with me to celebrate.  I thought about just Matt and I going alone but Sterling insisted he wanted to come help me celebrate, it was super sweet.

A few days later I went out for some wine and cheese with my girlfriends to celebrate. We had a blast like we always do.  We hit up the Avondale Wine Bar and enjoyed a delicious Rose and two cheese platters.

Outfit Details

The blouse arrived in my Finicky Filly Brown Box this week- stay tuned next week for a follow up on that!

Blouse | Jeans | Shoes | Purse | Earrings

The jeans are a new favorite.  I still love my white Rag and Bone jeans, but I wanted a fun distressed pair.  These DL1961’s really suck you in and fit perfectly. I have worn them almost everyday this week.

Jeans (also Here )

This week I made quite possibly the best tuna salad ever.  I have to give my friend Liz credit, I found it on her blog, Beets and Bratwursts.  She always has the best recipes!  This tuna was outstanding full of so many fresh flavors!

Tuna Salad

Two or three 6 oz tins of albacore tuna packed in water

3/4 cup of light mayonnaise

1/2 chopped green onions

1/2 cup of chopped cucumber

1/4 cup of chopped fresh dill

1/4 cup of drained capers

2 TBS whole grain Dijon mustard

3 TBS of chopped fresh tarragon

2 TBS of chopped flat leaf parsley

Fresh cracked pepper

*Optional, add some toasted walnuts OR 1 chopped apple

Met with our neurologist again this week and got some great news.  The fluid around Frances Moon’s brain went away on its on, so no need for a shunt to drain it.  Thank you for all your prayers, this is such a relief.

I took Sterling to see Cinderella this week and I think I loved it more than him.  It was magical and beautifully done.  I forgot what a beautiful message the book had in it about kindness.  I want to see it again and will definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out!

Has anyone watched Bloodline?  I keep hearing amazing things about it.  We are almost done with House of Cards and need a new show to start.

I picked up the cutest blouse at JCREW.  Pretty sure I will be wearing it often this Summer.  Runs large I am in size 2.

Currently 25% off with code HAPPYSPRING

|| Faded Adire Top

Don’t miss out Loft just started their 40% off sale.

A few of my favs

Colorblock Suit | Bedrock Maxi

Ikat Blouse |Scallop Dress (would be great for Easter)

I need a new book to read!  Ya’ll always have the best suggestions so tell me what to read next!

Speaking of books I just ordered the new Inspiralized Cookbook and this book on The Japenese Art of Decluttering.

I am officially obsessed with these pickles.  They are so amazing.  If you get lucky you can find them at TJMaxx, they also make an amazing Bloody Mary Mix as well.  The spicy ones are my favorite they pack some heat.

Have a great weekend!

These ecards made me laugh:)

Happy Friday!  For some reason this week seemed especially long, maybe because it was the first week back to the grind.  It’s restaurant week this week and we have a fun date night planned for Saturday, can’t wait for some adult time.  Otherwise I plan to keep organizing and cleaning out our house, I always get inspired after the New Year. I will probably do a blog sale again soon so stay tuned.

Confession I wore this outfit 4 days in the past week.  When I find soemthing I like I wear it on repeat especially if I am seeing different people.

Moema Blouse | Gray Jeans (on sale in the distressed version) | Flats

Also wanted to let ya’ll know my favorite distressed jeans are on sale right now for 50%!

I have this same style but different color and wear them basically everyday.

|| Rag and Bone Skinny Jeans

I picked up a new piece for my bar area and I am loving it!  I had actually originally bought it for our den to place on the piece of furniture our TV used to sit on (we hung a new TV) but Matt insisted it blocked too much of his TV (men and their TV watching).  It found its way to the bar room and I am really loving it there (sterling loves it too).

|| Starburst

I just finished reading The Light Between the Oceans and really loved it!!  It was so thought provoking and really hit my heart hard as a mother.  I highly recommend it- what should I read next?

Thinking about Cutting For Stone or the Language of Flowers….

I had the most amazing beet salad at the Obstinate Daughter this week.  I can’t stop thinking about it.  I really want to try and recreate it.  It was whipped ricotta, beets, pistachios, picked Fresno chiles, and fresh grated horseradish.  The flavor combo was out of this world.

I downloaded Kristen Cavallari’s app- I don’t know if that makes me lame but I have a weird fascination with her/ girl crush and hey the app was free.  In one of her articles she discusses fermented foods and how good they are for you, so I bought some Kimchee to try.   It is kind of funky but good in a strange way.

After Christmas I ordered a few things from the Rebecca Taylor sale.  My shirt dress just arrived and I love it!  You can still take additional 30% off the sale thru this weekend.  It brings the dress to like $100.  I am wearing a size 4, pretty true to size if not on the large side.

|| Floral Haze Shirtdress

Frances is finally starting to perk up and act like herself again after having RSV.  RSV is no joke.  I am thankful both kids seem to be on the mend.

I was so excited Monday because The Bachelor started back. My Mondays have been lacking without the Bachelor or Bachelorette to watch.  I think Chris is really cute, and his body ain’t so shabby either.  Dying to know what he does to make all the women cry- I am thinking he probably gets freaky with someone the girls don’t like.   Monday nights just got so much more entertaining.

Have a great weekend!!

Get ready for random overload.

I got my first manicure in a long time.  It was pure bliss to sit alone in the nail salon and get my nails done. I always bring my own nail polish so I can do touch-ups at home.  I went with Essie Power Clutch and love it.  Such a great shade for Fall.

I have loving this new bread I found at the Grocery store called Eureka- it is so delicious.

On instagram several of you wanted to know what bread I was using for my BLT and it was the Eureak SAAA-Wheat.

I have been so bored with TV lately.  I can’t find anything I want to watch.  Only thing I have been hooked on lately is Flip or Flop in HGTV.  I love seeing them fix up all the old houses and what it costs.

and this is so true.  I am phone addicted.

I got the cutest leggings for Frances at my favorite baby store here called Sugar Snap Pea.  Had to share!  If you don’t live here you can find them online here.

I just downloaded Lena Dunham’s book to read and I can’t wait to dig in, has anyone read it?

Blake Lively and Ran Reynolds having a baby together is so not fair.  She looks amazing pregnant of course.

Last night I went to a Fashion Show at Hampden Clothing.  Stacy holds these 2-3 times a year and they are always so much fun to see the new clothes.

My favorite jacket of the night and me with my friends Amy, Caycee, and Krystine

If you missed the Shopbop Friends and Family, Saks started theirs and it runs thru this weekend.  25% off the site use code FRNFAM.  I will share some more pics from the Saks site tomorrow.

I am tempted to buy this Equipment Blouse it is already on sale and then you get additional 25% off!

|| Equipment Blouse

The Rag and Bone Nicole Top is part of sale too if you missed it at Piperlime.

Sterling and I baked the most delicious Pumpkin Muffins this week.  I used Smitten Kitchen’s recipe and we devoured them.  I found the toppers at CVS.  Sterling is Halloween obsessed so they were a fun addition.

 Have a great weekend!

TGIF Friends. I am so ready for the weekend.  We have no plans tonight other than our standard Friday night pizza and then going out tomorrow night with some friends that are visiting!

If you are looking for some delicious tequila you should try George Clooney’s tequila.  We tried it

this week for taco night and it was really smooth.  Apparently George knows his tequila.

If you are looking for the absolute cutest kids store please check out Progeny Shoppe and if you live in Raleigh even better you can shop in person.  I love every single item they carry.  They sent Frances Moon this adorable bubble, it is perfection.

\ Anais and I Baby Bubble

My sister advised me of a sale Pottery Barn kids was running.  She had ordered the cutest travel duffel bag for her son and I totally copied her.  It is a great travel bag if you need one and with the monogram the total is still only $22.  I feel like it is a bag he can use for several years because it is not babyish.  They had several styles on sale for girls and boys.

\ Snakeskin Duffel

My Equipment Grayson Dress arrived and I just love it.  I wore it out to a girls dinner last night.

\ Grayson Dress (on sale)

We ate at a new restaurant Leon’s that I have been dying to try.

It did not disappoint. We shared the fried shrimp sandwich, the black eyed pea salad,  and siam salad.

It all was excellent.

We had a bit of a health scare with Frances Moon this week and had to have some kind of scary tests run.  It makes my heart to go out to anyone with a child going through something serious.

Thank goodness everything was fine, but man was it un-nerving.  While we were at the hospital I stopped in Starbucks and found this chocolate, it is amazing!!

Matt and I finally finished Season 2 of House of Cards and loved it.  I need ya’ll to recommend something new we can watch together preferably on Netflix!

I am so honored to be featured in this month’s Peachy Magazine.  I am dishing on my favorite restaurants, shops, and activities in Charleston.  You can read my article here!

Enjoy your weekends!

Thoughts For Friday

Apr 4, 2014

Yay for the weekend!  Anyone have great plans?  We have a fun dinner out Saturday with my brother and his wife trying out the new Beirgarten and then Sunday we are celebrating my nephews first Birthday!  I can not believe it has been a year since he was born, I still remember sitting and waiting in the hospital for the news that he had arrived.  Such a special day I will never forget seeing my sister become a mom for the first time.

…………………………………………………………………………..

So, I have yet to write about this but lets discuss the Conscious Uncoupling of Gwyneth and Chris.  I have to admit when I first read of their split I was sad but not surprised.  I liked that they kept their relationship private for the most part which led me to believe they were happy.  I appreciate that they seem to be remaining friends which I think is so important when kids are involved.  It just makes me sad for all Hollywood marriages it seems none can survive.  I was outraged by the comment Gwyneth made about her job as an actress being harder than a regular working mom- read this article if you have not.  This lady’s response was awesome.  I still like Gwyneth but I do think some of the things she says are really egotistical and bone headed.

I do kind of look forward to seeing who they both date next.

Next lets chat about Southern Charm. I have gotten several emails and instagram comments wanting to know my thoughts on the show.  One word its bad- but yes I am still watching it.  I have this problem where I can’t stop watching bad reality TV shows.  I find it odd that the none of the cast are real friends it seems they just threw them all together for the sake of the show.  Cameron and Shepp seem the most real and down to earth.  TRav just embarrasses me- I mean hasn’t he done enough damage to his name, I have no idea why he would chose to do this show other then to get his name out to run for political office ( and our state is backward enough we will probably elect him).  I have no idea why Jenna is even on the show other than to showcase someone who is not your typical Southerner.  and how the heck does she afford that huge house? I have to say Whitney’s mom is my favorite to watch.  I love her life of leisure just sitting in caftans all day having drinks brought to her:)  and how many people work at her house just to take care of her??  What do ya’ll think?

Lately I have been all about some tie dye.  I am thinking about adding this Joie Sweater or this Equipment tee to my closet.  The Joie sweater is part of the Bloomingdales Friends and Family so it is a forerunner.

I am on mascara two of my great mascara search.  Currently, I am trying out Benefit They are Real.  I have to be honest it is not much better then the Loreal Illuminous which is way cheaper.  Both have been way better than the Maybelline I was using.  I think Chanel and Josie Maran are next on my list.

Ignore my nails- I never have time for a mani these days!

I am having a hard time dropping my last 5 pounds of baby weight so I have been trying to eat cleaner because lets be real I can’t cut out my wine!  Any tips for dropping the last 5-10 pounds?   I made this for lunch the other day and it was fabulous.  It is provolone, turkey, and avocado plus the Tuscan Kale Salad.

Now that the weather is warmer I am finally able to dress Frances in some of the cute Summer outfits we have.   I swear for the first few months she lived in the same 5 onesies and pants so it is fun to dress her now that she is getting a little bigger.  I just want to freeze time I love this age so much.

Gap Dress \ Rikshaw Jumper

Baublebar and Nordstrom just launched an awesome collection together.  They were sweet enough to send me a package with some of the new jewelry and other goodies. You can check out the whole collection over at Nordstrom.

This is Sterling patiently waiting for the confetti and lollipops.

These earrings were part of my gift and I just love them- even better in person.  I can’t wait to wear them to a wedding we have in a few weeks.

\ Crystal Drop Earrings

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday Friends.  I am officially exhausted this has been a crazy busy week for us!!  But tonight I am excited because I am finally getting to meet two blogger friends in person- Sara and Mandy.

Yesterday I finally popped on the home decor store, Eclectic in Mount Pleasant.  Sidney has such a great eye for design and had some awesome pieces.  She is featuring WayWay Allen’s artwork this month and it is all gorgeous.  I wanted several pieces!

and how cute would these animals be in a nursery?  So much like Jonathan Adler but cheap!  If I didn’t have so much stuff in Frances Moon’s nursery I would have bought one!

Her store is on Coleman Blvd, check it out!

Thanks to everyone who came to our La Senorita Jolie trunk show.  Their tee shirts really are my favs!  They are so soft and comfortable and a great price point! You can still order online thru Sunday and get free shipping with the code LSJ-DBDD.  My two favorite tops from the show were The Valentina and the Kylie

I am wearing a size medium in the Valentina and a small in the Kylie.

Also wearing my favorite distressed jeans. available here in black too which I love!

Thank you to everyone on instagram for all the great mascara recommendations. For years I have used Maybelline Great Lash and all of a sudden I hate it! I am looking for a new one.  I am testing out many of the suggestions and first up was the Loreal Voluminous.  I am going to wear it for a week or so to get a good feel for it but so far it is better than my old one!  Next on my list are : Josie Maran, Benefit, and Chanel.

Local friends if you have not eaten at the Square Onion in ION you must.  The Whitney veggie sandwich is my favorite!!  It is hummus and veggies on delish bread!

I am obsessed with watching my kids sleep, totally normal and not creepy, right??  Anyways I snapped this picture of Frances and it melted my heart,  a framer for sure!

I watched the most interesting segment on ABC News about Dan Harris, who had major anxiety and a panic attack on air which lead him to research happiness and resulted in all signs pointing to meditation.  It was so interesting that sitting and meditating only 5 mins a day can improve areas of your brain and help with so many other ailments.  I am convinced I need to clear my mind and meditate and I started reading his book, 10% Happier.  It really is so interesting.

I am dying to try out these amazing Napa Cabbage Wraps from Camille Styles next week.  They look so good!

These Vince Genna Sandals have me drooling, totally lust worthy.  Quite possibly the most perfect nude sandal I have ever seen!

For a cheaper version check out these by Joe’s Jeans (who knew they made shoes).  Sizes are selling out fast because these are such a good deal and gorgeous too!

Mindy Sandal

Lastly, I just love this picture of me and kids at bath time.  I count my blessing everyday for this sweet family of mine.  I love how much Frances already loves her big brother.  Sterling is so good with her always making her smile.

Have a great weekend!

xoxo

Thoughts For Friday

Feb 28, 2014

It has been awhile since I have done a random thoughts post so here we go.

Is anyone else over Juan Pablo?  He is so cheesy and lame to me.  Quite possibly the worst Bachelor ever.  His voice makes me cringe.  Even Matt has made me start recording it at night because he can’t bear to hear his voice.  I love that Andi dumped him.  His repetition of “ok” was getting to me too.   I hope she is the next bachelorette,

I am hooked on the Revlon lip Crayons.  During the snow storm in Charlotte my mom and I were bored so we did a little drug store shopping and I picked up one of these to try and ended up loving it.  They are cheap and go on really well.   I got number 205 and it is a great neutral pink for Spring.

|| Revlon Matte Lip Crayons ||

I am pretty sure this is going to be my lunch next week.  How good does it look and simple too.

Wednesday Night I went out to dinner with Chassity and Caycee and finally had the chance to carry my Gigi New York Uber Clutch.  I love it and can tell it is going to be my most carried clutch.  I love my initials on it and the fact that I can fit so much stuff in it!  It comes in some great new colors for Spring.  They are also out in a cool pebbled version for Spring as well!

|| Gigi New York Uber Clutch ||

Locals you so need to hit up Thera M.  They used to be DT but now are on Coleman Blvd In Mount Pleasant with parking,  so it is much easier to stop in!  They have some great new Spring stuff in.  I stopped in this week and loved everything.  While I was there I found my new favorite jeans, the JBrand Midrise Skinnies in Quantum.  I had been wanting a distressed pair of jeans and these are amazing. They are so flattering!!  I promise you will love them.  Stop in Thera M ot you can order online here.  Also available HERE because Thera M only has a few sizes left.

Everything and I mean everything in our yard is dead.  I am ready for spring and to spruce things up but I swear my plants never last long.  This year I want to do something simple and green like these tall planters.  Maybe the greenery will last longer.

Today is the last day of the Bobbi Brown friends and family sale where you can get 20% off your purchase.  I am smitten with her new Nectar and Nudes Eyeshadow Pallette.
I also love the new netar and nudes lipgloss colors so pretty!  You can shop her whole site HERE.

I am guilty of having my phone out way too much but it often captures priceless moments like this and makes me glad I had it close by. These two melt my heart, nothing sweeter than sibling love.

Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Nov 1, 2013

It has been awhile since I did a Thoughts for Friday post, so here is your daily dose of random this lovely first Friday in November.

We had a super fabulous Halloween last night.  Sterling is at such a fun age he loves everything about Halloween and who doesn’t love all the candy??  I need to be cut off I ate so many Twix yesterday.

I am super flattered because Carolina Style Magazine named me one of The Carolina’s top bloggers of 2013.
You can check out my feature HERE!

The light finally arrived for our nursery and I am smitten with it.  We installed it this week, now just to find a few replacement bulbs because several were broke while trying to hang this beauty.

|| Lulu and Georgia Lyra Light ||

Pretty certain these Carne Asada Nachos will be made this weekend.  How amazing do they look?

I am so excited about this book that was just released by Aerin Lauder.  I love her and her style.  It is definitley on my Christmas List!

|| Aerin Lauder at Home ||

Piperlime is having a great sale right now, like seriously good prices.  I snagged this dress to save for next Summer.  Check out the sale HERE.  With my rewards and all I ended up getting this dress for $30!

||Line and Dot Trapeze Dress ||

Lastly, I am officially full term this weekend.  37 weeks!!  This pregnancy has flown by!  Normally I don’t do full on bare belly shots but I wanted to document the size of this belly, that and the fact I really have no belly button anymore.  Things are about to get real.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday Friends. The hubs is off fishing all weekend so me and little man are going to have alot of quality time together. We have big plans to to have a movie date and see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

With Columbus Day on Monday lots of places are having sales.  Tibi is having their Friends and Family Sale, 25% off full priced merchandise.  A few of my favorites, scroll thru to view and use code FRIENDS25 at check out. I love Tibi, always such good quality pieces.

Thanks to Megan, I snagged the most fabulous agate bookends for the nursery at Marshalls for $12.99.  If you need a blue pair I spied an awesome set at West Elm for only $19 (view here).  These things normally sell for $200+!

My Serena and Lily Pom-Pom Curtains arrived for the nursery, and I am obsessed.  You can still take advantage of the Friends and Family event thru Monday.  I highly recommend these curtains, use code HEART20 to get 20% off.

I am already dreaming about getting back in regular clothes.  I am so over wearing the same few outfits and feeling like a cow, only good thing is I have not been shopping so I am saving money.  First on my post baby purchase list is a pair of MOTHER jeans.  I have heard rave reviews about these!  They are high waisted which I really like and are supposed to be really flattering.

I am smitten with this Python Clutch from Banana Republic.  It is a great price for a cool oversized clutch.  I am debating between the navy and grey.  Banana Republic has actually had some cute stuff this fall.

Sandra Bullock has been looking amazing lately at all the Gravity premieres (that movie still freaks me out and gives me anxiety, I could never watch it)!  She is 49 and looks fabulous.  I am wondering if she has a new stylist.  Loving this look in a major way.

Sterling has been such a doll lately, loving on my tummy and talking to his sister.  Melts my heart.

How awesome is this take on kids sushi?  I am thinking Sterling and I are going to make it this weekend.  It is just bananas, peanut butter, and rice krispies.  Too cute.

and because I am dreaming of the day when I can have more than a sip of wine, this ecard made me laugh!

 Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Sep 13, 2013

Happy Friday Dolls.  Is everyone ready for the weekend?  I know I sure am.  This weekend the hubs and I are celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary.  I can not believe it has been 6 years since our wedding day and 12 years we have been together.  Time flies!  We are going out to dinner tonight which should be fun- minus the fact that I can’t drink, but oh well I will at least be a cheap date this anniversary!

Last night I stopped by the C. Wonder store opening downtown on King Street.  Can I just say I am so excited we are getting a C. Wonder.  I loved their Home section, there were so many goodies I wanted and the prices are great.  That’s my girl Caycee front and center, she was  my side kick for the night!

I wore my favorite BB Dakota Noland Dress to the event.  It is finally back in stock at Social Dress Shop.  You can’t beat it for the price, it is such a versatile dress.  I am smitten with the rich green color for Fall and think it will be cute with tights and booties as well.  I wear a size small and it still works pregnant but may not fit me much longer while preggo.  Small fits great not pregnant though.

{BB Dakota Noland Dress}

I finally decided to jump on the Fall train and painted my nails a Fall Color this week, I mean it is September and all.  This is one of my new favorite nail polish colors for Fall, OPI Malaga Wine.  It truly is the perfect red.  And of course I had to get my first Pumpkin Spice latte too.

We got our first BlaBla doll for Baby Girls nursery.  I love BlaBla dolls so much.  I want an entire collection of them, Layla Grace has a great collection online.

{Lollipop the Frog}

Next up I want the Bunny and Elephant!

I picked up my first pair of flats for the Fall.  I have been yearning for a pair of D’Orsay Flats.  There are so many options out there but these Madewell Beauties won me over.  Get a pair fast because they are selling out quickly,  only a few sizes are left.   I went with the dark river color, it is supposedly a dark navy/gray  which I thought would look great with everything!

{Madewell D’Orsay Flats}

We got our ottomans back for the den and I could not be happier with them.  I love the fabric we chose and the size is just perfect in our small den.

For all you local ladies, I wish you would please join me at the Wine, Women and Shoes event in a few weeks.  It is guaranteed to be an amazing time- what is better than wine and shoes with tasty food?   Plus I will be strutting it on the catwalk which should be comical at 8 months pregnant!  It’s for a great cause so come on out!

You can purchase tickets HERE.

Its a good thing I am not a legit fashion blogger because I am so awkward in front of the camera.  Here is my snapshot for the event.  Of course Sterling had to make a cameo- stuffing his face!

Pretty sure I am making this Kale Ceasar Salad this weekend, looks amazing!

Aug 9, 2013

Thank goodness for the weekend. I finally got my act together and we are entertaining tonight. Having some friends over for dinner- hopefully I can make it up past 8 (haha). I get so darn tired at night, I have been way more tired this pregnancy than my first!

This week I had a craving for a fruit crumble and I immediately made Val’s Strawberry Crisp.  This was so amazing I can’t even put into words how good it was.  Even better served with vanilla ice cream over top!

:: VAL’S STRAWBERRY CRISP::

I have turned into a coffee table book hoarder. Thanks to my sister this is my newest addition.  You can find one HERE.

Target has some of the cutest girl clothes for cheap.  How sweet is this stars dress?  It came with bloomers and a stripped cardigan as well.  I swear it looks like some of the expensive French Lines I have seen.  I could not find it online so check your store.

This dress is also adorable, not in my Target store but I found it online.  Way to go Target with cute affordable clothes!

:: Cherokee Newborn Dress ::

Thank you to whoever recommended the book Island Girls to me.  I picked it up at the library this week and I am loving it.  Two days in and I am more than halfway through!  A great easy and entertaining read!

I am completely obsessed with this 10 Crosby Derek Lam Dress, but the price tag not so much.  Someone find me this on sale!    The jacket is equally as fabulous!

Our Rug for the nursery arrived last night and I am totally smitten with it, Sterling is too:)  Nursery is slowly starting to come together.

::Lulu & Georgia Ink Dye Rug::

Please tell me y’all remember this game? My sister and I used play all the time and I just found it for Sterling.  He loves it.

Lastly, I leave you with these tips for a happy marriage, I thought they were spot on!

Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Jul 19, 2013

Happy Friday Friends! This has been a whirlwind week. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact we are having a baby girl. I am so excited. Of course the first thing I wanted to do was go look at baby girl clothes. Turns out I don’t love all the girl stuff as much as I thought I would.   Alot of it is too pink, too sparkly, and too fluffy for my taste,  even the traditional smocked stuff that I loved for Sterling I don’t love as much for baby girl.  I had a hard time finding anything I loved but I did snag this adorable onesie for Baby girl.    I found alot of cute stuff at Baby Gap, which is funny because I never shop there for Sterling!  Their prices are great though!  I am smitten with this cute outfit.  You must click on the link to see the back of this romper it is adorable!

{Contrast Bow Flutter One Piece}

Also loved this Baby Gap Dress. The colors and stripes reminded me of LemLem.

{Stripped Bow Dress}

If you love Greek Food as much as I do, you must try Papa ZuZu’s in Mt. Pleasant.  My friends Chassity and Sarah urged me to try it and it was amazing.  One the best Greek Salads ever and their warm pita bread and hummus is delish!  I picked it up after my doctors appointment as a treat and I am still dreaming about it!!  Plus the salad is so big I ate off it for two days!

Our first box from Citrus Lane came and it was great!  Sterling was so excited to get mail and it was filled with such fun stuff for him.  I highly recommend.  You can sign up HERE to try it out.  His box came with a race car painting set, a pack of reusable/washable stickers, a lunch container you can use the stickers on to decorate, two cold packs for lunches or booboos, and dried banana snacks.

Of course now that I know we are having a girl my wheels are spinning on the nursery design details.  My sweet Dad has graciously offered to paint the nursery for me, I think he felt sorry for me after I painted our den and hallway myself.  So I am searching for paint colors.  This is so weird and normally I am not a purple girl at all but I am leaning towards doing the nursery a pale purple gray.  After seeing Pratt and Lambert’s Quartz Moon in the new House Beautiful I am loving it.  Any other great neutral purple grays I should consider?

I am so excited both my boys from Breaking Bad got nominated for Emmy’s, they deserve it.  I am counting down the days til August 11th when the final season starts.  I miss Jessie and Walt.

Can we talk about how amazing Jenna Dewan looks 7 weeks post baby.  I mean how do these celebrities do it??  I need tips.

Normally my little cougar crush Zac Efron can do no wrong but I am still trying to wrap my head around the tragic jean shorts he is wearing.  All men need to take note,  jeans shorts are never a good idea.  His body still looks pretty amazing though.  Is he 21 yet??

My ASOS dress finally came and I can not say enough good things about it!!  It is such a fabulous pattern and looks way more expensive than it is.  It is fitted on me because of my belly but I think it will fit perfect post baby too.  For those curious on sizing I ordered a 6.  Highly recommend this cute dress.

Have a great weekend Friends!

Thoughts For Friday

Jun 14, 2013

I have a new obsession, and it is the clothing line Demylee. They carry this line at Hampden Clothing a local boutique here in Charleston where I bought my pieces (it is also on their website) and Revolve Clothing carries it as well.  It is non- maternity but it is perfect for us preggo girls.  It is super soft tee shirts and dresses with a loose trapeze like silhouette.  I have been living in the two I own,  case and point below.  Next I am stalking this dress.

{Navy Swing Top | Black Madison Top}

If you looking for the cutest kids book you must check out Mustache Baby.  We checked it out at the library recently and Sterling loves it, we read it every night!

Best potato chips ever- Zappos Voodoo Potato Chips.  These are my favorite crunchy snack, you will not be able to stop eating them.

I am loving these Baggu Bags from JCREW.  They are only $10 and fold up so small so you can keep them stuffed in your purse.  I use mine every weekend at the Farmers Market.

I am totally not buying any new swim suits this year because lets be real by the end of the summer my stomach is going to be huge I will most likely just be in a cover-up!  But I am already scouting ones out for next year.  I am in love with this cute one piece from Anthro.  It is so chic and stylish I see myself wearing it all Summer at the pool with Sterling.

{Kushcush One Piece}

So Kristen Cavallari and Jay Cutler finally tied the knot.  I actually really like her gown and she seems to have grown up alot since having her son.  Still kind of surprised how tame she seems now compared to her Hills days.

I am obsessed with all Greek food lately so as soon as I saw this recipe I knew I had to make it.  Totally making a batch next week for my lunches.

{GREEK TORTELLINI SALAD}

Several of you emailed me saying you tried to order the Noland dress and it was sold out- well per Sarah @ Social Dress Shop it is back in stock for a limited time- you can order HERE!

Have a great weekend- we have a busy one filled with a fun wedding for Matt’s best friend and a baby shower for my sister in law!  Oh and in honor of Father’s Day, I leave you with this.

(ps doesn’t the lady in the ecard look totally like Kris Kardashian?)

Thoughts For Friday

Feb 22, 2013

Thank God for the weekend!  After being so sick last weekend and then tending to my little man who also caught the stomach bug I am ready for a fun weekend with no illness (praying Matt doesn’t get it, hoping he is in the clear since he hasn’t caught it yet).  We have no big plans but I am looking forward to some quality family time!  I can’t wait to hit up the drug store and buy some of the great stuff you gals recommended!

Last week I stumbled upon the most genius food invention ever, Brownie Brittle.  Have you guys tried this stuff?  It is amazing.  Tastes just like a brownie but it is thin and crunchy.  I was skeptical at first but it knocked my socks off.  Buy some you can thank me later or hate me later when you eat the whole bag.

My Forever 21 Dress came in the mail and me likey.  For the price it is a great maxi.  I highly recommend, for all you locals it is not in the store I checked you have to order online.

{F21 Tribal Maxi}

Thanks to one of my readers, Chrystal from Its Fairly Obvious, for recommending Oribe Texturizing Spray.  This stuff works wonders.  I spray it in my hair before I curl or straighten it and it gives it so much more body and it smells amazing.  It is not cheap but I promise it is worth the money.  It serves kind of as a dry shampoo as well as styling agent- double bonus.

For some reason I decided to DVR The Making of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.  If you really want to feel bad about your body just watch this (haha).  And sadly I was eating the mini Cadbury Eggs while I watched it,  which made me feel even worse, I kept thinking put the eggs away look at these skinny girls they don’t eat cadbury eggs.  The girls were stunning,  bodies and faces.   In all honesty it was actually kind of an interesting documentary.   Lets discuss Kate Upton’s Boobs- there is no way these are real, right??

This beauty is on its way to me.  Thank Jenny Andrews for making incredible art.  You guys should check out her Etsy shop HERE.  I love all her work!  Thinking I am going to hang it in our den.

I could not resist this shirt at JCrew for Sterling because well lets face it, he is a real heartbreaker.  Its on sale now too:)  For any of you curious about sizing I got him a 4/5 and it fits pretty well with a little room to grow.  Tell me this is not the cutest thing you have seen?
{Heartbreaker Tee}

I have convinced myself I need a tortoise shell ice bucket.  I saw a picture somewhere of one filled with pink flowers and I loved it.  Then I came across this picture on a bar cart and I love it too!

I did a little researching and found this super affordable one at Nordstrom (Matt a great birthday idea would be to buy this and fill it with pink flowers for my birthday).  This would be such a fabulous house warming gift as well.

{Turtoiseshell Ice Bucket}

Love this quote, something I have been reminding myself alot lately.

Have a great weekend friends!

Since I have been reading Grace Coddington’s Memoir I was inspired to watch The September Issue (not sure why I never watched this before).  Anyways I rented it from my favorite place the library and really enjoyed it.  I loved seeing a sneak peek in Ana’s life and loved that it featured Sienna Miller my favorite girl!!

I found the cutest neon drawstring dress at Target this week.   The dress is so comfortable, the perfect little weekend dress for running errands or lounging.  Check out my little man in the background, he likes trying on clothes too:)

{Mossimo Drawstring Dress}

Rembrandt was nice enough to send me there THERSday kit.  It was filled with so many great goodies.  My sister and I had a ball using them all and my mother in law loved the Cosmo mix! Might I add Sterling was obsessed with the band-aids.  What is with kids and band-aids?  Thank you Rembrandt for a fab kit!

I think I have narrowed down the paint for our living room to two colors.  Revere Pewter and Horizon both Benjamin Moore.  Ordering samples to try out and then deciding!

I think you all know I am a cookbook hoarder, I can never have enough.  I received this one for Christmas and have really enjoyed reading it.  I have earmarked a few recipes to make.  Alex used to write the food column for House Beautiful.  He is funny, gay, and likes Southern Cooking so of course I love him.  A great cookbook!

Has anyone tried this Revlon Lipstick/Lip gloss?  I keep hearing they are the best neutral lip color.  Think I am going to try them out, but would love to hear from someone who has actually used them.

The lipstick is called Soft Nude and the Lip gloss is called Peach Petal. It would be great to find a cheap version I love because right now I am hooked on Chanel.

Matt did not think this E-card was funny at all.  But I sure did- kind of true (sorry honey).

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

TGIF friends.  Why is the week after a Holiday always the longest week ever??

Last night I helped to host a Girls night out event at Cynthia Rowley and it was so much fun!  I loved meeting so many new faces!!
Here we are the hostesses with the mostess (Chassity, Amy, Caycee, Me)

Had to show one picture of my dress because it was such a score.  Forever 21 ladies, $25!! Thanks Anna for the idea:)

I have found the perfect pair of jeans.  You might remember how much I love my Rag and Bone Midnight Legging Jeans?  They are my all time favorite.   Well Santa (thanks Mom) just picked up a pair of the Rag and Bone Skinny Jeans for me in Kensington Wash and I am in love.  Ladies these jeans are miracle workers.  They sit higher up on your waist and suck in all the flab.  Most flattering jeans ever.  I promise.

{Rag and Bone Skinny Jeans: Kensington}

Hard to tell from this picture but I promise they fit like a glove!!

I think I may be the only person but I am so over seeing where everyone puts their Elf on the shelf.  I get it you have the Elf too, everyone does lets move on.  I guess the people that created that little elf are rolling in the dough.

Can ya’ll believe Jessica Simpson is pregnant again (reportedly).  I mean dang that was quick.  She must have gotten knocked up when Maxwell was 3 months old.  Crazy.  Especially after she just lost 60 lbs.

What are ya’lls thoughts about this Serena and Lily pillow?  I am in the market for two for our couch and I am thinking I want some navy in them to blend in with our new rug (pictured below).  Any other thoughts on where to find affordable pillows to go with my rug?  Email me ideas I am clueless with this kind of stuff!!

I tried a new restaurant on King Street for lunch this week- Fire Street Food and it was awesome.  It was primarily food with an Asian twist.  The menu was great with lots of different options.  I had a salad with Shrimp Skewers and it was delicious.  I can’t wait to go back here again!  Highly recommend!

Don’t forget to enter the Social Dress Shop Giveaway you have til Midnight on Sunday to enter!!

Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Oct 5, 2012

Hurray for the weekend, for realz.   Matt is going to the USC game tomorrow with his work buddies so I am flying solo for the whole day.  But good news is I have a fabulous wine date planned with some friends!  If the hubs gets to party all day I deserve some time out too!

I think I might be the last person in the world to start watching Revenge.  I tuned in Sunday night and loved it.  I didn’t watch any of the first season- wish I had now.  But I am so excited to find a new show for Sunday nights.  I also tuned into to 666 Park Ave but it was way to scary/creepy for me.  Made me sad because I really liked the cast of actors but probably won’t tune again.

Alot of you have asked me about the Apple Cider Vinegar and how it is working.  I am still drinking it daily.  I usually drink it twice a day mixed with 6-8oz of water.  I always seem to forget the evening dose (probably because I am preoccupied with my wine).  I have been drinking it for 2 weeks now.  I have lost 3lbs.  I am not attributing this all to the vinegar but I do think it has helped.  My weight was not budging prior to the apple cider so I have to believe it helped some.  I drink it prior to meals which I think suppresses my appetite some.  I think it has also helped with bloating issues as well. Plus it makes me drink more water which is always a good thing.

In the last week I have also cut out major snacking (ie chips and crackers) so that could be it too.  Either way I am sticking with the apple cider vinegar even if it is only once or twice a day.  I will report back in two more weeks when it has been a month.

I hit up Target this week hoping to find this beauty in store so I could try her on. Of course there was not one at my Target store.  Has anyone bought this?  How does the sizing run?  I am figuring for $27 this needs to be added to my closet!   I do already own two leopard dresses- does it make me a leopard hoarder to own three?  They have all sizes online if your store is out!

{Merona Leopard Dress}

I think I may be the only person who does not like Mums for fall.   They are freaking everywhere and it kind of annoys me.   Sterling and I hit up our favorite local nursery here in town called Hyams to get a few fall plants yesterday.   I opted for Pansies and Spikes for my front porch pots.  My mom assures me pansies are easy to care for.  I need easy low maintenance plants or I will kill them!

My little garden helper.  He loves looking at the plants.  Look at all the Mums in the background, they are everywhere!!

.In keeping with my getting ready for Fall week, I think I am going to make these Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispy Treats.  How good do they look?  Not part of my diet but I don’t diet on the weekends.

Can we talk about how gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is and how sick her body is?  I wish I looked like that when I worked out!

It does make me stand by the fact that I prefer all black workout clothes.  Look Gwennie does too.

So I have a mile long list of projects around my house I want to get done and have I tackled one thing yet?  Big Negative.  This quote sums it up.

For all my fellow Mamas.  This brought a tear to my eye, so true.

And just because I couldn’t resist- my man is still loving his Spidey Costume.  That smile melts my heart.  You better believe I am off to buy him like 5 more costumes they make him so happy!

Cheers to the Freaking Weekend.

So, I get alot of reader questions in my comment section and I want you to know I try to respond to every question.  But if there is not an email address associated with your google account or whatever you use to leave comments, I can’t respond to you.  So please don’t think I am ignoring you- when in doubt just email me directly if you never hear back.

One question I get all the time is what size is your initial necklace?  My necklace is the Jennifer Zeuner Medium Initial in Gold.  I ordered an “s” for Sterling as my push gift and wear it all the time.  I can’t say enough great things about this necklace.  It is great alone or layered,  such a versatile piece.  Two years later and I still wear it almost daily.

{Jennifer Zeuner Initial Necklace}

I love everything about this look for fall.  Stripes and Booties are my favorite combo.  I must recreate this look.  Too bad my hair just does not look cute in a top knot.

I keep seeing interviews and hearing lots of rave reviews about the new movie Bachelorette.  I adore Isla Fischer, so I can’t wait to watch it.  I am not the biggest Kristen Dunset fan however, (remember when she and Jake Gyllenhaal where so hot and heavy?) but maybe I will grow to like her more.  Seems like it may be kind of a similar idea to Bridesmaids, but I loved that movie it was hilarious!

I have been on a real organization kick lately and I love this idea of using white beans to store make-up brushes.  Such a cheap and easy idea.  It looks so clean and fresh too.

Want to know a secret?  I am obsessed with the Liz Lange Maternity Tank Tops.  And no I am not pregnant, I am just tall (almost 5’10) and these tanks are super long and fit so well.   They are super comfortable too, I even sleep in mine sometimes.   If you are looking for a great basic tank top please stock up on these.  I own like 8 from when I was pregnant with Sterling.   Black, Grey, and White are the best colors to get for layering. I wore my grey one yesterday with my pink jeans.   They are only $12!!  The stores are always sold out in my size but they carry them online as well.

{LIZ LANGE LONG AND LEAN BASIC TANK}

I just picked a huge thing of Figs for super cheap at our local grocery store and I am thinking I want to make a Fig Pizza with them.   Anyone have a Fig Pizza Recipe they love?  I am torn between using blue cheese or goat cheese, as most of the recipes I come across use one or the other.  I also think it would be amaze with some crispy panchetta crumbled over top and maybe arugula as well.  Dish if you have made Fig pizza before.

I always find Ecards that trip me out and this one was no exception.  Wine is totally my destresser.

I came across this on Pinterest and it really resonated with me.  I am so guilty of complaining and getting frustrated about stupid things.  I sometimes forget how darn lucky I am.  So important for us all to remember.

Have a great weekend my pretty friends!

Thoughts For Friday

Aug 10, 2012

I have to admit I have not been glued to the Olympics like most people- don’t judge I just have a short attention span for sports and they make me so anxious.   I used to get so anxious at my little brother’s basketball games.  Competitive sports bring out crazy anxiety in me!   I have tuned in for a few events mainly the swimming for one reason: Ryan Lochte.  Ok, is he not incredibly sexy?  I can’t take my eyes off him and that body.

My little man has decided he now wants to dress himself.  He pitches a fit if I put him in something he doesn’t like.  Makes me a little sad that our days of smocked outfits and jons-jons are coming to an end.  This is what he picked out this week.  Jeans and a sweater hat for 90 degree day + a t-shirt.  Ugh.

Went to an event for Fringe Boutique last and scored this adorable Maxi dress.  You can order one here.  Super affordable and super cute!

We are headed to the beach tomorrow for a week long vacay with my whole family!  I seriously live for this week every year.  We always have so much fun.  To spice things up a bit I am making infused Strawberry Vodka.  To use for Strawberry Basil Martinis.  I will report back if it is as good as it looks!

The Gap Friends and Family Event started yesterday and lasts thru Sunday, if you enter the code GAPFRIENDS, you get 30% off your entire purchase.  I think I am going to get a pair of these ankle zip jeans for fall.  Also loving the stripe cardigan.   They look so cute together and I feel like they would pieces I would wear often.

{Gap Ankle Zip Jeans, Stripped Drape Front Cardigan}

I also really want these for my little man.  They are skinny and kind of trendy but I think paired with a button up or classic sweater they would be so darn cute.  and with 30% they are pretty good deal!

{Colored Skinny Jeans}

I am smitten with this new Zucchini recipe I found on WayWay’s blog.  It is so delish.  I had it for dinner and then again for lunch the next day.  Lately I can’t get enough zucchini!

It is so simple all you do is slice Zucchini and roast with olive and oil and salt pepper at 400 degrees for about 20 mins.  Take out of oven and while warm toss with dressing of lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic and S&P.  Then add fresh basil and Parmesan cheese!

In case you are wondering my big “detox” lasted one day.  I am pathetic.  Oh well,  I ran today to combat the booze and food.  I am just not a summer dieter.  I have some great guest posts lined up for next week while I am vacationing,  involving designs for Sterling Big Boy Room, trust me you are going to want to see these!  Hopefully I will be back with a few pics from vacay to share as well.   Have a great weekend and stay cool!

Have ya’ll heard the rumors that Emily and Chris Harrison are dating?  I don’t know what to make of this.  Wondering if it is true or a publicity stunt.   Supposedly she ends up with none of the guys on the show this season and is currently with Chris.  And Chris did just separate from his wife of 18 years.  I could see Emily liking Chris because he is famous and wealthy.  Hmm, makes you think……

We had a stellar 4th of July.  We grilled out with some friends and watched the fireworks downtown.  Managed to snap one family picture.  I love that Matt is covering his privates because Sterling kept kicking him because he did not want to take a picture!

I went all out and got very Patriotic with my outfit this year.  And of course I start off any holiday with my favorite drink,  a Lemon Martini.  You can see the pure excitement on Sterling’s face over my outfit.

Gotta love a holiday sale.  I snagged this dress I have been eyeing forever, finally for 60% off!  Nothing makes me happier than leopard.

{A.P.C Leopard Smocked Dress}

I am officially obsessed with The Lumineers,  they are my new favorite band.  Similar to Mumford and Sons.  ITunes them, I promise you will love the song “Ho Hey.”  I downloaded the whole CD and it is all I want to listen to.  I highly recommend!

I made these pesto pizzas for dinner last night.  I substituted Mozzarella because the hubs does not love goat cheese and they were amazing!  I used pre-bought flat bread (ie. Naan) and just layered with Pesto, Tomatoes, and Cheese.  Bake and Enjoy.

I am so proud of my girl, Britney.  I feel like she is really trying hard and getting her life together.  She has been looking gorgeous lately!  I miss the “Slave for you” days.  Can’t wait to watch her on the X-Factor.

I have put alot of thought into this and if I could have dinner with a group of celebrities it would be: Anderson Cooper, Kelly Ripa, and Neil Patrick Harris.  Call me crazy but I think this would = the best night ever.   I have been obsessed with The Silver Fox forever and I love me some Kelly and Neil.

How adorable is this precious little boy?  It has me convinced I need a pair of Kelly Green boat shoes for Sterling!

 Have a great weekend!

I am so glad it is Friday!  And guess why?  My in-laws are keeping Sterling for the night (and I mean overnight) so Matt and I can go to a wine tasting and then date night!  We have not been out on a date in forever!   Oh the joys of finally having family living in town!

I picked up my Silhouette of Sterling that WayWay did and I could not be more pleased. I love it in a major way, it is pure perfection!!  If you are looking to get a Silhouette done of your child you must contact WayWay.  She did a stellar job.  Now I am trying to decide where to hang in his room or our hallway? You can check out more of WayWay’s work HERE.

Speaking of WayWay she turned me on the best way to cook Okra, roasting it.  All you do is slice down the middle, toss with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Roast at 400 degrees about 20 mins.  It is

so good.  Matt and I were eating them right off the pan like they were fries.

I need some reader help.  I am obsessed with this Milly Sari Hostess Dress.  I really want it for a wedding I have later this month but I can’t find it in my size anywhere.  I found it online at Neimans and had it in my basket when someone else (snatched) bought it while I was looking.  I need it on sale not full price for sure..  So tell me where can I find it???   I saw it on Rent The Runway but I would rather own it.  I hate to pay $100 just to wear it once.

I went to Banana Republic yesterday to check out the Trina Turk Collection and I was not too impressed.  Nothing fit me just right so I left empty handed.  This dress was probably the cutest I tried on but just not digging it for me.

{Cochella One Shoulder Dress}

Is it weird I want to go see Magic Mike?  I know it will be a cheesy movie but,  tell me it isn’t wrong to want to look at all those hot men shirtless?

My sister has me intrigued about a drink she and my mom made this week, a beet martini.  I have been all about drinking my beet juice in the mornings to cleanse my liver but I am just not sure about a beet martini.  She promises it will rock my world.  May try this weekend, wish me luck!

LOVE this wallpaper.  I need to wallpaper a room so bad.

Happy Friday!  Don’t forget to enter the Stella and Dot giveaway it ends Sunday!

I am so glad it is finally Friday.  Our weekend plans include grilling out at the Yacht Club tonight, Farmers Market and a Derby Party tomorrow!

Has anyone watched The Conversation yet with Amanda DeCadenet?  It comes on Lifetime and it is awesome.  She interviews celebrities but it is in such a casual way, almost as if girlfriends are chatting.  Amanda is hilarious and she has had some great celebrities on so far.  It is super interesting.  My girl Gwennie was on the premiere episode last week and it just made me love her even more!  She talked about motherhood and her father’s death and seems so strong and wise beyond her years.

I am loving this Chambray shirt from JCrew.  Pretty sure she will look perfect with my new white jeans!

Can we talk about how excited I am about the Smitten Kitchen Cookbook?  Deb puts together the most amazing recipes and her photography skills are off the charts.  I can’t tell you how many of her recipes I have made and loved!  The book will be released in October.  I already pre-ordered my copy on Amazon:)

Wednesday night we made our own taco seasoning.  Lately the packet kind has tasted so processed to me.  It leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth and the sodium in it makes me super thirsty.   I am not sure why I waited so long to make mine own, it was fabulous.  It was the perfect combo of spices and heat.   Here is the RECIPE I used.  I highly recommend it.  It will be all I use from now on.

I saw these shoes on Pinterest and thought these should be mine. So I clicked on the site only to learn these babies are $805-WTH?? Why do they have to be so darn expensive!!  I guess I will admire them from afar because I will never pay that for shoes but how sick are they with the hot pink and patterns?

Jessica Simpson finally had her baby.  I feel like she was pregnant forever.  I mean she looked ready pop after New Years.  I was starting to think there were twins in there.  Her baby weighed 9lbs, 13 oz which is actually a pretty big baby in my opinion.  I actually don’t hate the name Maxwell Drew that she choose for her baby girl. But I see the baby being nicknamed Maxi for sure.  I can’t wait to get a peek of the baby.

Speaking of babies my friend Caycee is having her baby girl this morning!  Send some prayers her way that everything goes smoothly.  I can’t wait to meet baby girl Taylor!  I know she will be beautiful just like her Momma!

Have a wonderful Derby/Cinco De Mayo Weekend!  Check back tomorrow I have a great cocktail for Cinco De Mayo!

Thoughts For Friday!

Apr 6, 2012

Happy Easter to everyone. I am looking forward to this weekend with my two boys. We always stay in Charleston and celebrate just the three of us. It is a holiday I hold special because it is just us!

First of all I am so excited to share with you with you something I have been working on for awhile. Charleston Magazine has asked me to be a contributor to their new blog “Charleston Grit” and it is officially live! The peeps at Charleston magazine have worked so hard getting this blog ready to go live and it’s awesome! It has already become a daily obsession for me. It is filled with so many topics from home decor and food to local happenings. Please check it out, there are some amazing bloggers on there!

I ended up making the Baked Hummus and Spinach Dip I blogged about last week. It was so good. You must make it next time you entertain. It is only 3 ingredients, hummus, spinach, and cheese!

Last year Sterling was too young to actually understand an egg hunt but this year he loved it. I hosted one at our weekly playgroup and he went crazy! His favorite part was scarfing down all the chocolate I hid inside the eggs.

I hit up Target for stuff for Sterling’s Easter Basket and found this adorable Maxi Dress. Why I can’t I ever just stick to my shopping list there?? It is only $27, such a steal girls. I live in cotton dresses during the summer and I love finding cute inexpensive ones. It also came in a really cute navy color. if your store doesn’t carry it, it is online HERE.

Call me lame but I am a sucker for a Nicholas Sparks movie. I think it is the previews paired with the awesome music and pretty boys. Matt asked if the only reason I wanted to see this movie was because they played Adele and had Zac Efron in the movie. Who cares about the story line I just want to look at Zac’s pretty face.

I am in love with Rachel Zoe’s new Spring/Summer Collection. Girl can do no wrong! I have my eye on this dress and think I am going to use my birthday gift card to buy it. Stripes + a shift dress = the perfect little summer dress. I am thinking it will look great with my hot pink necklace from the Bauble Bar!

Your quote for the weekend, so true my friends. Something important for us all to remember.

Have a lovely Easter Friends!

Please tell me you saw the latest post on Gwennie’s blog GOOP. It is Gwyneth modeling different outfits and showing how to go from day to night. It provides links to buy each outfit, so loving it! I really want to try and recreate several of these looks. Here are a few of my favs, check out the others HERE

I think Molly Sims is the cutest pregnant lady ever! How stylish does she look with her little baby bump!

I went in a Lululemon store for the first time yesterday thanks to my pal Katie. Have I been living under a rock?? These workout clothes are freaking amazing. I swear they sucked me in all the right places and looked stylish at the same time. I am hoping to get these 3 staples for my birthday at the end of the month. Tried on the shorts and pants and LOVE them!

Our neighbor just delivered our three boxes of girl scout cookies I ordered this week and I can’t stop eating them. I ordered Samoas, Thin Mints, and Shout-Outs (a new cookie this year). I am really digging the Shout-Outs, they are light, crisp, caramelized, and you can eat 4 for only 130 calories!

I am seriously considering making these Bacon, Egg, and Blue Cheese sandwiches from Smitten Kitchen this weekend. How amaze do they look?

I am obsessed with this Mara Hoffman cover-up. Has anyone seen it for sale anywhere?

Your quote for the day. Happiness.

And I couldn’t resist one funny quote. Because let’s be real all I want to watch is the Housewives, Bethenny, and Gossip Girl, and all Matt wants to watch is sports and the history channel. Nothing in common TV wise unless we are watching Diners, Drive in and Dives (yep I admit it I kind of like a Guy Fieri show- don’t judge).

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Thoughts For Friday

Feb 3, 2012

I have been home this week visiting my parents and it has been lovely. We have been running around like crazy shopping and working on stuff for little man’s birthday.

I found these great coffee table books at The Habitat store for $4! And I finally got my brass sea urchin I have been eyeing for months! I can’t wait to get home and set them all up on my coffee table.

We cooked the most delish dish for dinner last night. Quinoa with Greens and White Beans topped with Roasted Salmon. So darn good! Check out the Recipe HERE. We just added salmon to ours and roasted the tomatos per WayWay’s suggestion.

I highly recommend this Pinot Noir to any red wine lovers. It was so good and I believe it cost less than $15. We tasted the Cab as well but everyone preferred the Pinot.

Guess what I finally got? After thinking about this blouse since Monday I finally bit the bullet and bought her. They had 3 blouses left in the Charlotte store and one happened to be my size, I like to think that was fate!

I stopped in West Elm, why in the world don’t we have a West Elm in Charleston? That store is filled with so many cute things! I originally went to get this front door mat for our house.

But instead I picked up this mat. It was a touch bigger and the chevron rug was more gray in person and I needed black for our front porch.

I also got these adorable owl measuring cups in the light blue. I plan to use them as bowls when entertaining as well.

I can’t wait to get home and read my new Bazaar with Gwyneth on the cover. I am beyond excited to read her interview, love her!

I came across this quote and love it. It is so true. Something important for us all to remember.

Have a great weekend! xoxo

Last night I enjoyed a much needed night out with two of my bestie bloggers, Chassity and Caycee. We dined at Rue De Jean one of my favorite restaurants in town. They have the most amazing burgers and Sushi.

via
Has anyone seen Food, Inc yet? Funny to go from talking about Burgers to food documentaries but that’s how I roll. My friend Katie has convinced me I need to watch it. Renting it this weekend. Here’s to hoping I will still want to eat Cheeseburgers afterwards.

Do yourself a favor and go buy some of this Chocolate, VOSGES. I got some in my stocking this year and it is the most delish chocolate ever! I got the mini library set and the Carmel Toffee Bar knocked my socks off!

I am really lusting over these adorable cuffs, from Banana Republic of all places!

Graphic Enamel Cuff

Dot Bangle

Exotic Bracelet
Banana Republic is offering 30% off all regular priced Merchandise so now is the time to scarf these babies up!

I just picked up this book after reading Nancy’s review here. I can’t wait to dig in and simplify my life and get organized! I read the first chapter last night and think it is going to be a great read.

Happy Friday. Have a great weekend!

Thoughts For Friday

Dec 9, 2011

We have a busy weekend coming up. We have house guests, my sister is in town, and the hubs is running a half Marathon in Kiawah. I desperately need to finish my Christmas shopping too!

This week I have been baking the Oreo brownies I blogged about Tuesday and assembling tins for my friends. I think they turned out pretty cute! Every year I always say I am going to bake treats for friends and never get around to it, so this year I started early so I would have time to get it done!

I am pretty much obsessed with the White Fudge Oreoas. They are amazeballs, knock your socks off good. They only come out at the Holidays so go pick up a box before they are gone. You will thank me!

This guy definitely loved the Oreaos.

My JCREW cobalt Blouse came and I love it. The sleeves are little more sheer than I thought but I still really like it. The fit is great, it runs pretty true to size for those wondering. I wore it to our girls Christmas Supper Club last night. I paired it with an old Bib Necklace from Banana Republic.

A few of you asked about the back view and how the buttons look- so here is the view from the back.

I just picked up Thomas Keller’s Cookbook “Ad Hoc at Home.” I saw a great special about him on the CBS Sunday Morning show a few weeks ago and have been obsessed with him ever since! This cookbook is so informative and has great recipes.

I hung my Sally Benedict Painting in Sterling’s room and love it. It makes me happy every time I walk in there!

My little man is so ready for Christmas and loving the cooler weather!

Have a great weekend!

TGIF Lovelies. I am so happy it’s the weekend mainly because my parents get into town Sunday. I can’t wait to see them and put my Dad to work around here (wink).
I am super excited because my Design Icon Celerie Kemble just came out with a new Design Book called Black and White. I have her book To Your Taste and it is one of my favorite coffee table books. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one!

It is filled with so many beautiful and inspirational design pictures. It is making me want to do a room based around black and white in our house. Love the simplicity and freshness of it.

I am thinking about making these 7-up Biscuits this weekend. My brother-in-law made them for us last weekend and they were incredible! So light and fluffy. Plus they are on the smaller side so you don’t have to feel guilty about eating more than one! They are so easy to make and delish with butter and honey. I highly recommend!

Is anybody else completely sick of hearing about Kim Kardashian? I mean were we really shocked when she ended her marriage, not at all. But 72 days is ridic, all marriages are hard in the beginning and take compromise, something I think Miss Kim is not so good at.

And if you have not watched the SNL skit “Fairytale Divorce” please do yourself a favor and watch this. I was laughing out loud!

I can’t stop thinking about this DVF Top and Parker Dress. I have convinced myself I need them for the holidays. I am thinking the top would be more versatile so I would get more wear out of it but I sure do love the sparkle of the dress! Which do y’all vote for?

DVF Florina Blouse, Parker Faux Wrap Dress
I was just reading Town and Country last night and found out Truffle Oil actually has no truffles in it. The magazine said “Truffle Oil doesn’t have any truffle in it. The ingredient is called ‘truffle essence’ or ‘aroma,’ neither of which is regulated by the FDA. It’s bismethane, which costs pennies to produce.” I am so shocked we eat Truffle Oil all the time and now this make me reconsider it a bit. The info came from a book called “Mycophila” and it is filled with interesting facts about mushrooms. Another tidbit is the Italian White Truffle costs $3,000 per pound! Pretty interesting facts about shrooms (not to sound like a nerd or anything:)!

I know this may make me a cougar at the ripe old age of 31 but Man do I love Zac Efron. Look how gorg he is in this picture. You are welcome for this dose of Friday Eye Candy.

I will leave with this quote I found on good ole Pinterest and it made me laugh, so true!

I am so glad it is the weekend! My sister is in town visiting and I couldn’t be happier!
I am beyond obsessed with this Vintage Chanel Purse. It is online at ShopBop right now and I can’t stop drooling over it! I am scheming ways I could get this beauty home with me. Santa are you listening??

I finally found a tie-neck blouse this week at F21 for $17! It is a great shade of purple and super cute for the price. Although I still want the Marc Jacobs Panther tie-neck blouse if it goes on sale! But for now I have am satisfied to have one tie-neck blouse!

I also picked up this cute blouse. It looks like a knit shirt but it is a blouse with a cute zipper in the back and great fit.

I am thinkinbg about ordering the large Jennifer Zuener Initial Necklace. I have the medium one with an “S” for Sterling but I like that the larger one has 3 initials and it shows up so much better. I have been so happy with my medium one, I wear it almost everyday so I know I would love the large one just as much!

The Instagram App for the iPhone is my new obsession. It is so cool what it can do to your pictures. Here are a few I did this week of Sterling. Love the vintage feel it gives them! You must upload it if you have an iPhone!

I can’t stop dreaming about these Cream Cheese Sausage Balls my friend Caycee made for our playgroup this week. They were amazing! I might just make them again this weekend! They would be perfect for football party or tailgate!

Tomorrow night we are headed to the Fat Hen for dinner. It is one of our favorite restaurants in town. I am already dreaming about what I want to order. Any locals have a favorite dish here? I think their burgers and French Onion Soup are insanely good!

Was that enough random babbling for your Friday? Have a great weekend! xoxo

Thoughts For Friday

Sep 30, 2011

I wanted to share pictures from the wedding we attended last weekend which was amazing. Truly one of the best weddings I have been to, but of course I forgot my camera. I did manage to snag two pics of Matt and I on my IPhone. I went with the black one shoulder dress. Voting was mixed and in the end I had to trust my mom and sister’s opinions, so the black dress won (yes, I did wear a one-shoulder dress both nights:).

Last night Matt and I finally watched Bridesmaids. Holy crap that movie was funny. There are so many things I want to discuss like the weird foreign brother and sister Kristen Wing lived with, the plane flight scene, and the mom with the 3 boys. Lets just say Matt and I both loved the movie. If you have not seen it please rent it asap!

For dinner we cooked some Truffled Lobster Ravioli I picked up at the Charleston Farmers Market. We made a white wine butter sauce to serve it with it and was ridiculously good. Local readers you should definitely check out the pasta stand at the Charleston Farmers Market. I am super excited because I am headed back Saturday to score some more goodies!

**Note that is not our ravioli picture I scarfed it down before I thought to take a picture!**

Last weekend in Blowing Rock I ended up at an Old Navy Store. Now I am normally not an Old Navy shopper, I usually never have luck there. Since there were no other shops in sight I browsed. I found this dress on sale for $14.00. I need an honest opinion, are the stripes too much? Is the dress too 1980’s? I kind of liked it and thought it reminded me of Marc Jacobs/PRADA stripes but I am not totally sold. I know it was cheap but is it cute? I pictured it with high heeled booties for fall. Be honest because I am happy to return it!

US Weekly is reporintg Nicole Ritchie had a boob job and from the pictures it looks true. I am surprised as she doesn’t seem the type to me to want big boobs.

My little man is totally ready for Halloween. He loved playing with my mom’s pumpkins and gourds while we were home last weekend. His costume is another story! I need to get on it!

Lastly, does anyone have suggestions for getting their Toddler to brush their teeth? I can get Sterling to brush his teeth for maybe 10 secs before he clamps up! It is a struggle every night! Any advice is much appreciated!

Happy Weekend! Hope it is a great one!

  1. You look gorgeous! And i've had that lobster ravioli and actually thought it was awful, ha! Love the farmers market.

  2. Old Navy dress – so cute! I'd pair it with black heels, some TB reva flats, or flat boots too. It's adorable! I used to live up in the Blowing Rock area right after college and would hit up the Coach and Polo outlets like crazy. Did you guys get to go into to the little town of Blowing Rock? They have a cute little boutique called Libbas…not sure if it's there anymore.

  3. Cait says:

stripes are in this year girl and you can totally rock the dress 🙂 super cute! ps that lobster ravioli looks amazing! recipe?!

  4. try the toothbrush that you put on your finger and then in their mouth…helped up, or one with lots of bells and whistles(rotates, lights up, etc) that ravioli looks amazing!

  5. i love your dress!!! i think its super cute on you, and the fact that it was only 14 dollars makes it even better! happy weekend!!! xx.

  6. pretty pretty sweet Natalie! As far as toothbrushing is concerned, this is one area where I may possibly have some advice. Wells is OBSESSED we actually keep toothbrushes all over the house and in her diaper bag now because she is always wanting to use one. mostly she just chews but she loves her treat when we actually let her use toothpaste. She prefers crest whitening 🙂 So maybe just let him start playing with one and see if that helps!

  7. lnw says:

I LOVE the striped dress. Heels or booties would be perfect – you can add tights and a blazer too. Looks great!

  8. Jill says:

I love that Old Navy dress, I never go there because I never have any luck, but I am tempted to see if I can find that dress too!!

With Scarlett I just put the training toothpaste (there is a picture of Little Bear on the tube) with a toothbrush the lights up and plays a song..she loves to keep it in her mouth and she will let me brush her teeth

  9. MrsAC says:

love the stripe dress.. and it will look killer with a pair of booties. as far as toothbrushes go- my son(who is 2 years now) struggles as well. sometimes he is into, sometimes he cries/squirms the whole time. what i did- bought him one of the electric toothbrushes. they have bat man, sponge bob, etc etc.. all different colored ones. perhaps he would enjoy of those? i think the electric ones probably get his teeth better than i was with the regular brushes.

i know it isnt much advice, but i hope it helps!

  10. I think the dress looks great on you! Keep it!

The brushing teeth is tough! I have a song I sing so she knows its time and she comes running. She lets me get 10 secs in but I just give her the brush and she does her thing for a minute or two. Not the best but hopefully she is hitting something : )

  11. Sara Mueller says:

I love the dress! You look great!

  12. Holly says:

I just saw your blog for the first time, and since you are asking for thoughts on the dress I figured I'd comment- I love it! Please keep it because it is too cute to pass up! Booties would pair nicely. 🙂

  13. Amanda Hill says:

First love the dress it does have a Prada feel and a great price! Second I kinda think Nicoles boobs look good…maybe she just wanted them back in there original spot after babies :>) Oh how they change things! You look amazing at the wedding too!

  14. I like that sweater dress, it is not too full of stripes…what about a blazer if you feel like it is too much? Your son is adorable and the one shoulder dress looks fantastic on you!

  15. That dress looks amazing on you. Keep it!!

  16. caycee says:

Girl I think that dress looks awesome def. keep it! Cant wait to check out the farmers Market tomm! Think I may drag Todd along too since he is now a free man 🙂

  17. Michaela says:

Aww you guys look great! Love your one shoulder (: I think the stripes are cute…especially on you! Sterling is looking so grown up…holy cow!!!

  18. Vanessa says:

I like the striped dress, but i would definitely pair it with a solid cardi and maybe a solid scarf or even some kind of longer blazer, but def cute!!!! Nicki Richie looks great, after 2 kids that calls for a little artificial help in that area!

  19. I'm thinking it's a go on the Old Navy dress, you can totally rock that! And I totally think that Nichole got a boob job…I don't think it was for huge boobs, but I can definitely attest to the fact that after kids, those things are *never* the same! Can't say that I blame her!

  20. Oh I want to go to the Charleston Farmers Market just to check out the pasta! I also think the dress is adorable and looks great on you.

  21. I actually thought that was a Marc Jacobs dress! I personally love it!! You are a knock out in that dress! OH and the ravioli looks divine!

  22. I think the dress looks really cute on you! We bought a toothbrush that plays a song and then Jonah and Meredith like to brush their teeth with me while I brush mine so we make it a little game each night. A "do what I do" game if you will. Oh and love love love Lobster Ravioli…I have really been craving it lately! Have a great weekend!

  23. SADBBLOG says:

you look amazing at the wedding! and that stripe dress looks beautiful on you! I say it's a great find!! and we sing a song while my little one brushes, and he has to brush for the entire song! Sometimes we play music and both brush the entire time……something to try maybe! 😉

  24. melinda says:

Love the dress ! Old Navy is looking better the last 2 years. About brushing the teeth — I was very slack on my first son maybe jr. high school he actually started to care not that he didn't brush until then — but I didn't have to harp so much. He is now 20 and has NEVER had a cavity !! Just sayin !!

  25. Mel G says:

Love the Old Navy dress Nat! Definitely keep it. I am so excited BTW that you are adding a "Recipes" tab!

  26. Bud and Leo says:

The black dress looks beautiful on you!!! Great choice! My hubs and I watched BMs for the 2nd time this weekend- so hilarious. And yes it totally looks like Nicole got a boob job- I'm shocked too! She's so boho-hippie I never thought she would! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! xo Lisa

  27. Bridesmaids is definitely a hilarious movie and the striped dress looks amazing on you, I would definitely keep it!
