Scenes from Our Weekend

Apr 18, 2016

We could not have asked for more gorgeous weather this weekend.  It was just perfect, lots of sun and not too hot or cold.  We spent lots of time outdoors.

Friday I had lunch at Lee Lee’s Hot Kitchen.  I had not been there in forever, it never disappoints.   We had the lettuce wraps, dumplings and General Tao’s Chicken (not pictured).

This dress came in the mail and I am so excited to wear it once the weather warms up a bit.  I love tee shirt dresses in the Summer and I especially loved the blue stripes on this one.  Someone asked if it was too short and it is not.  I am 5’9 and the length is fine, I have a size 1.

Saturday morning the kids and I headed to the Farmers Market.  This is one of our favorite Saturday traditions.  We always stop in Glazed along the way for doughnuts.  This week they had a special called the pina colada doughnut and it was seriously one of the tastiest doughnuts.  It was filled with a pineapple filling and had toasted coconuts on top.

After the Farmers market we picked up Matt and headed to Ellis Creek Fish camp.  The kids love this place and it is so nice to eat outdoors, not to mention the gorgeous view.

My sweet little boy, who seems so grown up these days.

Wearing my favorite sunglasses.

I love their fried okra, especially good paired with a glass of rose:)

Saturday we had a date night with two other couples.  We tried out Maybank Public House and really enjoyed it.

I have to show a close up of my shoes because I am kind of obsessed with them!  They also come in an ivory color as well.

Sunday Matt and Sterling went fishing.  I snapped this pic of Matt in the zone.

Sterling ready to catch some flounder.

This little lady, so much sass and attitude these days:)

Ann Taylor is offering 50% off the entire site only until tonight at midnight.  Use code CYBER50.

This pineapple blouse is a recent purchase and I love it.  I am wearing a size small.

For dinner Sunday night I made the Ramen Noodle salad out of Chrissy Teigan’s cookbook and it was so good!!

My best friend Caycee just designed a line of bags with Hayden Reis that launches today!  I am so excited for her and the bags are super cute!   I have mentioned their bags on here before,  they are perfect for the pool and beach.  They are so easy to clean, you can literally just spray them down with a hose.  I just love the pattern she picked out for her bags paired with the black background.  A Perfect Summer Tote!

You can use code MOMLOVE to save 15% off your order!

I personally love the Ditty style, it a great size to tote towels and all the kid’s stuff.    We used our Ditty tote so much last Summer.

This bucket tote is a new style out this year.  I just just ordered it, I figure it is a good size to pack lunches and snacks for a day at the pool or park.

Scenes From Our Weekend

Jan 18, 2016

Happy MLK Day.  So thankful for all that Martin Luther King Jr did for our nation.  The kids are out of school today so we are off to the gym and then downtown to play around.

I mentioned Friday but the kids and I headed to Charlotte this weekend to meet my new nephew Rutledge.  Since they were out of school Thursday and Friday it was the perfect long weekend to get away!  I am always so sad when I have to leave my family but thankful we are only a few hours away.

My mom had recently bought a coffee table at Slate Interiors so we stopped in to browse.  I swear I wanted everything I saw.  So much gorgeous eye candy for the home. I really want to find a spot for those hot pink chairs.

I spent a lot of time cuddling with sweet Rutledge.   It sure made me miss having a newborn but not the sleepless nights!

My other nephew Finley was such a ham trying to fit in the Moses basket.

No trip to Charlotte is complete without a trip to SouthPark Mall.  Why oh why doesn’t Charleston have a good mall??  The shopping is so much better there.  I snagged these two beauties.  And yes I know it is only January but I am over Winter clothes and dreaming of Spring.

The Topshop Dress is so cute on, I love the drape front detail.  I had been eyeing the RM purse online and was so happy to see it in person, the perfect Summer purse!

Topshop Dress | RM Tassel Purse (comes in 3 different colors)

The kids always love Nordstrom because of the fish tank.  They both found cute winter hats on super sale.

Enjoyed one of my Dad’s delicious martinis for Happy Hour!

My blouse is 40% off right now, making it only $36 🙂

All the cousins minus Rutledge chilling. Maxton was clearly overwhelmed with the older crew!

On Sunday we saw snow!  Charlotte had a few snow flurries in the morning and Sterling said ” See Mom wishes really do come true.  I wished for snow last night and its snowing. You should make a wish it will come true, but don’t wish for a fire breathing dragon that will ruin the town.”

Then we cheered on the Panthers to victory!

Serena and Lily is having a huge sale right now, most of the items pictured below are 70% off.  You can also use code NEWLOOKS to take an additional 20% off all bedding and bath times even ones on sale.  I just ordered the star baskets! You can view the sale HERE and shop my favorites below.

Two more Mondays til school starts back (not that I am counting or anything).  Today the huge Lily sale starts but confession- would you believe I don’t own one single Lily piece?   Others look cute in it but it just isn’t my style- so happy shopping to all you Lily fans hope you snag some goodies. You can shop the Sale HERE, after 8am:)

I have been working with GDC Home to find some fabric for our wingback chairs.  I love that they will let you take the whole bolt of fabric home it makes such a big difference.  I was thinking a  big scale pattern til I brought this home.  Gorgeous fabric but not right in our room.

Now we are thinking of doing a solid with some brass nail heads.  Classic look then I can jazz it up with fun pillows.  Narrowed it down to these 4 although the tan is out too much neutral with my walls and sofa.

I have been obsessed with Blend Juice Bar in Mt Pleasant.  If you have not been you must check it out.  Their green juice is so good!

I am also obsessed with my new ankle JBrand jeans, seen in the above picture too.  They are the perfect transition jeans from Summer to Fall.

Rag and Bone Nicole Tank| J Brand Mid Rise Ankle Skinnies |

Dolce Ave Necklace

Friday night we out to dinner with some good friends.  We tried out Big Belly Kitchen and Tap House a new restaurant that opened right down from our house.  It was amazing.  All the food was delicious.

I had the braised beef tacos, fancy fries, BBQ Chips, and Arugula salad.  If you live on James Island you gotta try this place!

Saturday morning Matt watched Frances and I took Sterling to the pool.  It is rare I get one on one time with him these days so it was so nice to have some time just the two of us.

Mirrored Ray Bans | Tolani Tunic

Saturday afternoon we headed to a Birthday Party for one of Sterling’s friends.

There was a jump slide, snow cone machine, and fire truck!  Sterling was in hog heaven.

Sunday Sterling and I headed to church together, for some more one on one time.

Sunday after church I took the kids to the park for a lunch picnic per Sterling’s request.  I was eating my salad and looked over and saw this, it was the sweetest thing ever.  Sibling love at its finest.

This look on Frances Moon’s face was priceless. She is like Mom no more pictures, I am not smiling.

Sunday night I tried out a new recipe from Callies Biscuits and Southern Traditions Cookbook.  Springtime Succotash with Bacon paired with some lobster tails and Rose.  Delish Sunday dinner.

A bunch of Rag and Bone stuff got marked down at Saks- some great deals!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Nov 18, 2013

I totally thought the Full Moon was going to set me into labor this weekend but alas I was wrong. I think this little lady is staying in my belly til her due date or later, just like her big brother. I guess I just don’t have babies early!  I have tried to stay busy and not think too much about the fact that I am about to birth another baby and that scares me!

Friday night we had a super relaxing evening and ordered pizza.  I devoured my favorite a Margherita pizza.

I went on a 2 mile walk everyday this weekend trying to get this baby to drop aka come out.  This is my view these days.

Received the sweetest package in the mail from Shop Poppy Styles.  I am obsessed with her bangles.  You can check out her website HERE.  Aren’t these gorgeous??

Saturday I had a wild hair to host a small dinner party with some friends and my sister in law.  Probably crazy at 39 weeks pregnant but I figure once the baby comes I may not be entertaining much!

We tried out a new recipe for Braised Beef Tacos that was amazing.  I will share it Wednesday!  We braised the beef all day and made homemade pickled onions to go with it.  The flavors were awesome!

Matt got some practice having two kids with Sterling and our nephew Drew.  He looks like a natural right?

Sunday I spent some quality time with Sterling while Matt worked.  We went to see Free Birds, it was such a cute movie, I highly recommend!  Sterling has been sweet lately loving on me and talking to the baby.  He even sat in my lap for the whole movie. I swear he knows his solo time is limited with me.  This makes me kind of sad but also grateful that it has just been me and him for the past 3.5 years.

After the movie I promised him we would start decorating for Christmas and we did just that!  I love the holidays and getting to enjoy my decorations even earlier this year is an added bonus.

Happy Monday!
I love this quote so very appropriate with Thanksgiving right around the corner!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Mar 18, 2013

We had picture perfect weather this weekend.  It was so nice after all the cold weather we have had lately!  We definitely enjoyed alot of time outdoors.

Friday I hit up an Estate Sale. I have not been to one in weeks and this was a good one.  I scored all sorts of great stuff for cheap.  The necklace was $1.00.  I mean seriously you can’t beat Estate Sales.

We hit up the beach near our house Friday afternoon for some afternoon fun.  Sterling insists on wearing his cowboy boots everywhere.  Will this phase ever pass??

Saturday, we have started a new family tradition where we go out to breakfast.  Matt usually has to work on Saturdays so it is a nice way to get in some family time with him before he is gone for the day.  Matt and I both got the Corned Beef Hash with Fried Eggs at SweetWater Grill and it was amazing!  It really makes me want to learn to make my own corned beef.

Saturday night we went to dinner with a few other couples for an early Birthday Celebration.   We had predrinks with Caycee and Todd.  I am such a giant next to her for real.  But how great does she look? She has me so impressed with her dedication to losing weight, she is 3 lbs from her goal weight and I am so proud of her.

I wore my Equipment Dress, so in love with it.  Similar one available HERE.

How cute is Caycee’s Dress??  After she told me it was $15 from Forever 21 I promptly ordered one (or two).  It comes in 4 fab colors.  It is online only.

{F21 Maxi Slip Dress}

All us girls at dinner.   So blessed to have such wonderful friends.  I count my lucky stars everyday to have these great women in my life.

Sunday was a church + boat day.  Church Outfit was Vince Dress.  Plus I added my Vintage Necklace I found at the Estate Sale Friday.

I love our walk to church downtown.  The streets are just gorgeous this time of the year with all the azaleas in bloom.  Great photo op with my little man.

Sunday afternoon was boat ride time.  I packed my favorite champ and new favorite chips.  Seriously go buy the Pringles Jalapeno chips.  We demolished the whole container.

This was me trying to channel Bridgett Bardot for the boat ride.  It so windy once we actually got on the water I had to ditch my hat, bummer because it was really keeping the sun out of my face.

There is nothing I love more than seeing my two boys together.  Melts my heart seriously.

Our boat ride turned out to be very cold.  The forecast said the high 75 but it felt more like 50 on the water.  Had to warm up at the Yacht Club Afterwards with a stiff drink.

I really loved this quote.  I still have Hope and hope you all do too.

I added a few new items to my Blog Sale yesterday and reduced some prices you can check it out Here,  there are some great deals!

Here is to a fabulous Monday!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Feb 18, 2013

Things started off good this weekend and ended badly.

Let’s start with the good:

I worked hard and got all the party favors put together for Sterling’s birthday.  I was pretty proud of myself this year, I thought books were a great idea that the kids would want to keep.   I did all different Golden Books so no kids would fight over the same one:)

I ran to Target to pick up a few last minute party supplies and found the cutest workout tank.  Does it not look just like Lululemon??  It was only $19! I could not find it online yet so check your stores, it came in a mint color as well.

Friday Matt and I enjoyed a date night out with one of our favorite couples.  We tried out The Lot, a new restaurant on James Island and loved it.  The menu changes daily and they use all local produce and meats.  We both thought the food was great.

They come to your table and describe the nights menu while writing it on your table which I thought was a cool idea.  Nice laid back vibe, but with excellent food.

Matt and I both shared the kale salad and whole Red Snapper.  Normally I am not the type of person to order a whole fish, but the fish was incredible.  Cooked and seasoned perfectly and the meat just flaked off the fish.  If you live in Charleston you must check out this place- it is on Maybank Highway beside The Pour House.

Saturday we woke up and celebrated this sweet guys 3rd birthday.  We put balloons out in the den and all his presents so when he woke up it was like Christmas.  He was so excited.

Per his request we picked up Krsipy Kreme Doughnuts for breakfast.  This is starting to be a family tradition (addiction).  Matt ate 8, no joke.

We also took our Superhero out to a fun lunch.

Saturday night my sister and her husband came over to have dinner and help me set up our new Apple TV.  They gave it to us for Christmas but I am an idiot when it comes to setting up technology things so I waited til she was in town to help.  Let me tell you I am obsessed with it.  It is so cool for streaming your music, pictures, and Netflix!

This is when things started to turn ugly, they left and I got in bed feeling dizzy, thought it might be the few glasses of wine I had.  Not so much woke up at 4 am puking.  Then proceeded to puke and have diarrhea the whole next day.  Accompanied by fever and chills.  I ended up having to cancel Sterling’s birthday party I was so sick.  Broke my heart but I couldn’t pull myself out of bed and I didn’t want to risk the kids getting sick.  This bug is brutal.  I ate nothing all day except for a piece of toast last night- so not me you know I love my food.  I was too nauseous to stomach anything.  Feeling better this morning.  Hoping it was a 24 hour bug.

Forgot to talk about it last week, but how excited are we that Mumford and Sons won Album of the year?   I have loved them for a long time!  Babel is always on repeat in my car, one of the best cds out!

Have a great Presidents Day!
