Happy First Monday of 2016! While I enjoyed every minute of the holidays with my family I am so ready to get back in a routine!  I had lots of down time and feel refreshed and ready to get organized and tackle the New Year!

For Christmas my sister gave me a new yoga mat and the large size S’well bottle.  I have been enjoying both.  My old yoga mat sucked.  It was old and worn out and offered no traction, so far I am loving this one.  I especially love the cool pattern.

Yoga Mat | S’well Bottle

I definitely gained a few pounds over the holidays so I have been trying to get back on track with my healthy eating.  I made my favorite Chopped Greek Salad last week.  If you assemble it like this is lasts longer and doesn’t get soggy.

I mentioned before but sister had her second baby last week.  They named him Rutledge and I have been loving all the sweet pictures of him.  We are going to try and head home next weekend to meet him! I love newborn snuggles.

After so many days of rain the sun finally came out last week for a few days.  The kids and I enjoyed some time near the water.  We were all needing some Vitamin D.

We had some friends in town visiting from New York and went out for dinner and drinks. We ate at The grocery, still one of my favorite restaurants in town.

Rebecca Taylor Blouse | T. Marie Earrings | Jeans | Pumps | TB Purse

The kids were so excited about New Year’s Eve this year.  Normally we stay in and celebrate with them but this year we actually made plans.  I bought a bunch of fun hats and sparkling cider and let them enjoy it with us before we went out:)

We went out to dinner with two other couples for New Year’s Eve and had so much fun!  A fun tradition I hope we keep up!

I wore my Equipment Leopard Dress + Julie Vos Necklace

New Year’s day it was rainy and dreary so we just relaxed all day.  We did enjoy the standard New Year meal of collard greens, black eyed peas, mac and cheese and Ina Garten’s Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread.  This Cornbread is seriously amazing.

I have been living in this sweater lately.  I love the fun print and it is currently on sale 40% making it only $40. It is super cute with leggings and a tee or jeans.

Sizing wise it runs TTS.  I am wearing a small.

Sun and Shadow Cardigan

We burned our Christmas Tree.  It is a very redneck tradition that our kids love.

Made the easiest appetizer ever.  3 ingredients : Dates + Gruyere + Bacon.  Stuff the dates with the cheese and wrap with bacon and bake at 350 degrees about 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and bacon is crispy.

Lily Lovers don’t miss out the Lily sale starts today!

You can shop HERE.

I am loving so many of the little girl outfits and their Resort Wear.

Here is to a great first week in 2016!

Exactly one week til Christmas Eve.  Can y’all believe it??  I think because the weather has been so warm here lately it doesn’t really feel like the holidays.  I have had a nasty cold all week so I am hoping I feel better by the weekend. I still have lots of gifts left to wrap and shopping to do before we head to Charlotte!

Last weekend we took the kids to watch the Christmas boat parade.  We usually watch from Downtown but this year we watched from a boat and it was so much fun.

The kids before we left decked out in their Christmas outfits.

Frances Moon’s Tunic is Allegra and Luca | Leggings are Petit Peony | Mocs

Sterling’s tee shirt is from a local store Southern Belles

How incredible is this sunset??  I think we took like 50 photos.  It looked like a painting, almost unreal it was so pretty.

My main squeeze.

Sunday I took the kids to church and had to snap a picture of Frances Moon’s outfit.  I mean it doesn’t get much cuter than a cape and glitter shoes.

Cape is from TJMaxx | Dress (40% off with code GIFTS)|  Yosi Samra Flats

Outfit planning for a Holiday Party.  I can’t say enough great things about this dress.  It is the perfect shift dress.  Easy to dress up or down.  I loved the dark green color but it also comes in black which would be a great classic dress to add to your closet. It runs TTS, I have a size 4.

use code SHOPNOW to take 40% off, making the dress under $80!

JCrew Dress | Elle and J Earrings | Claire V Clutch | Yosi Flats

The best nachos in town at Zia.

Yesterday we had a playdate with my friend Ashley at Vintage Coffee.  If I had not already done my Christmas cards this would have been the perfect spot for a picture.  I will have to remember for next year!

We love Vintage Coffee for playdates.  Their cinnamon latte is amazing and if you want wine they also have a really good rose.

One of my new favorite red wines, is the Hess Cabernet.  Their Chardonnay is also good if you are looking for a white wine.

My fringe blouse I ordered from the Shopbop sale arrived already and I love it!  I got a small and it seems to be TTS.  Today is the last day to take extra 25% off sale items, use code BONUS25.

The Serena and Lily Private sale started yesterday.  Lots of great deals!

I bought the kids this guitar and piano last year for christmas and they still love them!  They are both on sale, I highly recommend if you need a gift idea.  I left them out from Santa and they went nuts over them.  You can shop the whole sale HERE

Guitar | Piano

This quote made me laugh and is very true for me and its Taco night tonight! Have a great day!

TGIF Friends.  This weekend my parents are in town and we have a birthday party for one of my dear friends.  Sterling is so excited because he has the next week off school.  My mom and I are off today to knock out some Christmas shopping and plan for Frances Moon’s birthday.

Last weekend my best friend Erin and her family came in town.  I love her like a sister and only wish she lived closer.  Time with close friends is good for the soul.

The kids are always so excited to see each other.   Frances and her daughter Tatum are only 3 weeks apart.   It was so cute to see them together.

I worked on my Thanksgiving table setting this week.  I always like to perfect it before the big day.

Last night I went to my friend Ann’s art show at Simply J Boutique.  This was my favorite painting.  You can view some of her work HERE and stay tuned I will be doing a Pop-Up Art Sale with some of her pieces!

I wore my Clu Dress.  I can’t tell you how often I wear this dress and I always get compliments on it.  It was previously sold out but is now back in stock.  It runs TTS I am wearing a small.

Clu Dress | Julie Vos Necklace | Madewell Pumps | Claire V Clutch

After Ann’s art show we checked out 5 Church, a new restaurant that is opening here this weekend.  They also have a location in Charlotte.

A few of us girls.

The interior was so cool.  It was like an old church.

Matt and I finally started Mad Men and we are hooked.  I am not quite sure what we did before Netflix.

I tried a new recipe for green beans and they were so good.  You must try Gaby’s recipe for Spicy Garlic Green Beans!

These two cuties, after church.

A little outfit planning for a photo shoot with Frances Moon for her birthday.

Dress (short sleeve version) | Twine and Twig Necklace | Mocs | Headband

Matt snapped the sweetest picture of me rocking Frances this week.  I can’t believe how fast she is growing up.  I am savoring  these moments where she just wants me to hold her.

Don’t forget til Sunday you take 20% off the Gigi New York site with code NATALIE20. They are also offering free shipping and personalization for the weekend. and yes I am so excited peonies are back!

Black Crocodile Bag

Have a great weekend! Truth.

Who else is excited for Halloween?  I for one am ready to pack up all our Halloween decorations:)  So over it.  I am such a Christmas girl at heart. I love my white lights and sparkles.  I am excited to see the kids get dressed up and how excited they are about Trick or Treating.

I caught the most beautiful sunrise this morning.  I will never get tired of living so close to the water.

Last weekend Matt and I had a date night with some good friends.  We tried out a new restaurant on James Island,  Stereo 8.

Wearing Mara Hoffman Dress

I have to say I walked in expecting to be disappointed but it far exceeded my expectations.  The Tuna Tartare and Thai Ceviche were incredible. The Kale chips were also amazing.  I will certainly go back.

Last Saturday our local DNR station hosted the coolest open house.  It had so many fun activities for the kids.  Sterling had a blast.

Frances is trying hard to convince me we need a small dog.  She and Sterling love taking care of my parent’s Maltese.  The little star top she is wearing is such a cute fit and style,  I bought it in the penguins print too.

Wearing: Star Top (use code STYLE for 30% off) | Leggings | Native Shoes

Not sure how this guy would do with another dog in the house he has such anxiety issues.  But he is such a sweet dog.

This Cabernet is a new favorite. It is under $20 and both Matt and I loved it.  We are super picky about red wines but this one was excellent.

I cooked Penne A La Vodka for the first time last night.  My brother in law passed the recipe to me.  Now typically I am not a Rachel Ray Fan but this recipe was awesome and so easy.    You can get the Recipe HERE.

Our planter finally arrived for the dining room.  It had been backordered for 2 months.  I am still waiting on a few more pieces to arrive hopefully before we host Thanksgiving and I can do a full room reveal!  I am off this morning to get some moss filler to go around the plant.

Planter + Stand

Frances Moon enjoying some Bojangles.

Enjoying Happy Hour in my cute new cups Paper Snob sent me:)  You can see all her “happy” cups HERE

I just ordered this Mara Hoffman Sweater.  I love the bright colors and fringe and it was just reduced.  I will share pictures when it arrives.

Mara Hoffman Sweater

My new favorite boots.

SM Boots (55% off) | also in black

And because it’s Friday and who doesn’t love a little eye candy.  I mean Blake Lively is one lucky lady.

Have a great Halloween Weekend.

My S’well water bottle arrived and I love it!!  I ended up going with the medium size.  I like that it fits in my car cup holder and my purse.  It really does keep beverages ice cold for hours.  I was surprised how cold my water stayed.  I went with this blue pattern but there are so many great options.

I finally tried grilled lettuce!  It was full of so much flavor.  I made Heather Cristo’s recipe with corn and pickled cherries, it was amazing.  Crazy flavor combination but they went together so well.

I am loving the new Justin Beiber song, Where are you Now.  Favorite song to run to these days.

I am now convinced we need a small dog.  Sterling and Frances love my parent’s Maltese.  I secretly would love a small dog too but not sure I can handle two kids and two dogs- haha.

Jungle Dress (on sale + extra 35% off) + Mocs

and speaking of Frances we just tried out pig tails.  I mean how adorable right??  The belly and the pig tails make my heart sing.

I finally tried out 492 King with some girlfriends.  Loved the inside, the decor was so cool.  The food was really good too just small portions or tasting size as they call it.  I had the pasta and watermelon salad and really liked both.

We spent time with my parents last week and last weekend.  Our favorite thing is happy hour on their deck because the view is so gorgeous.

Vince Camuto Off Shoulder Top + Rag and Bone Shorts (on sale)

Been loving rompers.  Found this one at Loft.  Also comes in black online.

Lou and Grey Romper

We celebrated Matt’s Birthday with what else??  A spongebob cake!  He was thrilled:)

I never get tired of where we live.  The sunrises and sunsets have been so amazing lately.

In complete and total denial Sterling starts kindergarten in 10 days.  I have been an emotional mess. He is growing up so fast.

Still loving my roses but this Pinot Grigio is so good.  Locals I bought mine at the wine store near the Ashley Marina.

Lots of time spent outside.

and yes Sterling is Minion obsessed.

Happy Thursday!

First things first we got a new dog!  If you follow me on instagram you already knew this.  We really had no intentions of getting another dog so soon, but as fate would have it the day our sweet Nelson died one of Matt’s clients stopped in who worked for the boxer rescue agency.  Matt put his name on the list thinking it would be awhile til a dog showed up we would want.  He got a call a few days later and now we are the proud owners of Rodney.  We think he is a boxer lab mix.  He is super cuddly and well behaved (minus the one incident where he ate our blinds).  Rodney is by no means a replacement for Nelson,  she is dearly missed everyday, but a nice distraction from our grief and a fun new addition to our family.  We all love him and are happy to be able to provide him with a safe and loving home.

Wednesday night I attended a cooking class at The Coastal Cupboard.  Before the class I met up with Caycee and Krystine at The Fish House for a cocktail.

Rebecca Taylor Dress on sale also here | Sunglasses

The cooking class was so much fun and I am now officially obsessed with The Coastal Cupboard.  It is a dream store if you love to cook.  We had filets, roasted tomatoes, and pom frites plus a delicious rose. I bought some fun new cooking gadgets too.

Frances Moon wearing the sweetest Petit Peony Dress, that they were kind enough to send her.  It has mermaids all over it and is so adorable.

My mom was in town all week so I had to take her to Tavern and Table for my favorite kale salad.  I dream about this kale salad it is so good.

I am going to try and recreate it soon and share the recipe.

Thursday Taco night.  I was happy to use my new napkins from The Coastal Cupboard.

Pineapple bowl and star dish are from Open Door Shop

Sleep stalking again.  Frances used to sleep like this all the time when she was younger.  This pose melts my heart.

Rodney enjoyed his first Friday night at the Masons.

The cocktail below is a new favorite I created this weekend, I will share the recipe later this week!

Cuddles with Rodney.  He loves to lay his head on your chest.

Saturday I helped host an event at Gwynn’s for the Laura Mercier Summer Make-up Collection.

Wearing a Kate Spade Romper.  Mine is from Gwynn’s and as of Saturday they had 2 left, but it is also available online Here.

While I was at Gwynn’s I pulled a few of my favorite Summer looks. I just love this bright orange tunic.  The straw Missoni bag was another favorite!

Headed to the Yacht Club for a fun Summer Party Saturday night.

Snuggle time with Daddy after the party.

Sunday morning we enjoyed whole wheat blueberry pancakes with raspberry syrup.

Frances is the proud owner of her own shopping cart- $7 thanks to TJMaxx. She loves this thing and pushes it every where.

Sunday night dinner.  The perfect light Summer meal.

Have a great week!

I hope everyone had a super special Mother’s Day.  I know I certainly did.

A few snippets of life lately.

Monday after school I took the kids to Sugar Bakeshop.  I had not been there in forever and forgot how amazing all their treats are.  The kids were in hog heaven with their cupcakes.  We sampled 4 different ones and they all were delicious.  My favorite was the mint.

Last week’s repeat outfit.

Blouse (on sale ) | Shoes | Shorts | Necklace | Sunglasses

Potted some new plants for our front porch.

Found a new lunch I am addicted to, thanks to my friend Liz.

Lettuce wraps.  Layer lettuce with mashed avocado with lemon juice and red pepper flakes + roasted white beans + hard boiled eggs + radishes.  So easy and tasty.

To roast white beans- just toss in olive oil with salt and pepper and roast at 350 degrees about 20 minutes.  It gives them great flavor and a bit of crunch.

This maxi dress arrived that I ordered.  It is such a steal under $85 and the colors are amazing in person.  This would be great for a Summer wedding or event.

|| BB Dakota Maxi Dress

Could not stop laughing at Frances as she tried to casually steal a chocolate milk at Starbucks.  She looked so guilty like who me??

Friday night we ordered pizza and played games.  Sterling picked Go Fish. We love our Friday pizza + game nights.

I am getting so excited about our vacation in 4 weeks!  I finally busted out of my comfort zone and bought a bikini.

Pom Pom Dress | Gold Shoes | Palm Romper | Pineapple Tote | Cowrie Necklace | Bikini

Saturday we went to Taylor’s 3rd Birthday Party.   I swear my girl Caycee hosts the best birthday parties. She gets every single detail right.

How gorgeous are the flowers??

All the ladies had a blast catching up!

I spent Sunday with the family. I hate I didn’t get to spend it with my mom but grateful for these two angels.

We enjoyed a lunch picnic.

Then Matt took Sterling to go swim since our pool just opened and I got to enjoy some time alone.  I actually read a few magazines it was so nice.

Then we headed to the Yacht Club for happy hour and to let the kids play.  After rain for a few days it was nice for some sun.

Sterling snapped this picture of me and I love it, I was so happy I had such a special Mother’s Day.

Tee | Shorts | Sandals | Glasses

I requested hot dogs for my dinner.  I love a good chili dog and these were amazing.

Perfect ending to Mother’s Day.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday Friends.  Sorry for the lack of post Friday but I was traveling and could not get my act together beforehand between packing and taking care of my kids.  Life has been busy lately in a good way:)  Get ready for picture overload today.

I finally tried the Butcher and Bee house salad last week and it was so delicious.  Local friends check it out!  I paired it with a side of their homemade hummus which is always so good.

I stopped in my favorite entertaining store Open Door Shop last week and was in terrafirma heaven.  These serving pieces are my favorites.  They are dishwasher safe and I love all the fun patterns. You probably recognize them from some of my recipe posts.

Sweet Frances Moon has become obsessed with showing off her belly.  Every time we ask her to smile for a picture she shows her belly.  This could be a bad thing in 15 years….

New favorite outfit on repeat. I wore it 3 times last week.

Blouse (use code FRNFAM to get 30% off) | Jeans | Shoes | Earrings (on sale)

I stopped in Old Navy this week to return a few things and found these fabulous shoes.

Sold out online so check your stores!

One of the things I love most about Sterling is his honesty. He recently told me ” Mom I love you, but when you put me in time out I love you a lot less.”

This is his best attempt at Blue Steel ( and how excited are we for Zoolander 2??)

Thursday I headed to Dallas for a blogger conference.  I flew out with my girl Caycee.

Tee | Sunglasses (on sale) | Jeans | Shoes | Leopard Tote (currently 10% off use code MAMA10) | Necklace

I got brave towards the end of the flight and looked out the window.  The layers and layers of clouds were just gorgeous.

This was my second year going to Dallas for the Reward Style Conference and it is always a fabulous weekend.  Best part is meeting up with friends from across the US that we only get to see once a year.

Night one was a roof top pool party.

Pictured with me | Cassie, Caycee, Courtney, Megan

Palm Dress (same print dress different style on sale)| Shoes

Saturday was filled with meetings during the day.

I carried this purse all weekend and starting today Gigi New York is offering free personalization for Mothers Day:)

Madison Crossbody

Dress (use codle FRNFAM for 30% off) + Necklace

Lunch with my mommy blogger friends

Carly, Sheaffer, Cassie, Courtney, Caycee and Megan.

Friday night was a fun party at the eye garden (minus the torrential rain)

Dress (similar) | Necklace

Saturday we got lucky enough to spend some time at the pool.  After pouring rain for two days it was welcome.  This was my favorite day because I was able to relax and have lots fun girl talk by the pool.

Cover-Up | Sunglasses (on sale) | Sandals

Finally got the chance to wear my black one piece.

I apparently need to find a good two piece though because I was the only one in a one piece!

That night RS hosted a fabulous party at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.  It was such a cool idea to host a party here.

Complete with fireworks!

I have been loving all of Mara Hoffman’s fun prints for Summer so I wore one of her maxi dresses that night.

Mara Hoffman Maxi | Clutch | Earrings

The best part of the weekend is always connecting with blogger friends.  Courtney and I have emailed and been friends for years and finally got to meet in person and that was such a treat.  She is stunning in person and has a heart of gold.

I came home to a girl who used to be Mama’s girl and now is all about Daddy.  Not gonna lie it hurt my feelings a bit but made me super happy they bonded.

Nothing better than coming home to these sweet faces.  I know time apart is good but man did I miss them.

You can shop some of my favorite pieces from the weekend below.

Happy Monday.

We lucked out this week and had some pretty incredible weather.  It always puts me in a good mood when the sun is shining!

Spent a lot of time outdoors with these two.

I bought sidewalk chalk which I thought was a genius idea to occupy the kids til found this beautiful drawing all over our front door.  At least chalk washes off:)

Then I busted this little lady chugging all her brother’s chocolate milk.

Love that guilty little face though.

I tried roasting purple cabbage instead of green.  I also brushed it with Dijon mustard and olive oil, it was so tasty.

Thursday night we out for a girls dinner since one of our best friends Amanda was back in town visiting.

Fringe Blouse | Jeans | Clutch | Shoes

Snapped the cutest picture of Frances Moon sleeping.  I swear it looks like she is wearing lipstick.

Friday night we had happy hour with some friends and I made the most delicious and easy 5 ingredient app||

Layer Cream Cheese | Onion Relish ( I actually used a local apricot jalapeno jelly that was awesome) | Black Beans | Crumbled Bacon | Chives

Serve with crackers

Visited with my sweet niece Avery this week, she is such a doll!  Love seeing her in Frances Moon’s old clothes!

wearing my tie dye dress again it’s a favorite already.

On Saturday we went to a birthday party for my friend Krystine’s two sons.  The kids had a blast.  She had a shaved ice truck come in, the kids were in hog heaven!

Saturday night we went out with some friends in town from Charlotte.  If you are looking for a great white blouse, I love the one I am wearing.  The embroidery and tiny pom-poms won me over!

Blouse | Jeans

We ate the Rarebit, which I had never eaten at before.  We all really enjoyed our food and drinks.

I had the Patty Melt and Onion Rings + Succotash and it was so good- no dieting on the weekend.

Found the cutest embroidered tunic/dress from F21.  It also comes in white/orange.

Embroidered Tunic

Sunday after church  I made a big batch of chicken salad.   The secret ingredients are celery seed and dried basil.  They give it awesome flavor.

Spent Sundays outside.  Sterling would not eve pause to be in a photo, he was off running the whole time!

Wearing her Tarjay Dress:)

I am really enjoying the book Diane Von Furstenberg wrote, I have been reading it at night.  Love this quote and I think it’s pretty true.

Feb 13, 2015

Did ya’ll miss me yesterday??  We had some internet issues which is always annoying.  Happy to report we now have a new router and modem so hopefully no more problems.

The past week has been super busy round here.  We traveled to Charlotte, and now my parents are in town this week helping out while we get ready for Sterling’s 5th Birthday Party this weekend.   How do I have a son who is about to turn 5 and start Kindergarten?? I am in denial.

Had so much fun in Charlotte.  Came across this quote from Micheal J Fox and felt it was so fitting

” Family is not the most important thing, its everything.”

Dad was out of town on a work trip and Sterling wouldn’t get in the picture go figure.

I thought this picture of the cousins in their matching bear shirts was adorable.

Bought this top while I was home and it is slowly becoming a favorite.

On sale in the navy version for 40% .

|| White version

I started reading Jane Green’s new novel.  I always love her books and after Still Alice I wanted something a little lighter.  It has already sucked me in.  I love her books because I immediately always relate to the characters.  If you have not read her novel Tempting Fate I highly recommend it.

Picked up some sconces to to hang on each side of our TV in the den.  Pretty excited about them.  I will show pics after we hang them this weekend.

So proud of this Orchid Arrangement I potted myself for our dining room table.

All for under $35 !

Our TJMaxx is amazing.  This week they had the Valentino RockStud Shoes in.   I of course had to try them on.

Always love when my parents are in town because I can take advantage of the killer view off their back porch. It almost looks fake it is so gorgeous out there.

New cookbook for my collection.  Could not resist the hot pink cover and its my favorite food genre:)

Mexico The Cookbook

I can’t stop thinking about this white boho lace shift dress.  It is only $72!  It is from a new line called English Factory that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

|| English Factory Dress

Not only is it Valentines this week but is is also Heart Awareness week.  We wore red to support all those with heart problems.

The Nordstrom Clearance Sale just started!

These Alexis Bittar Bracelets are a steal, they were $245 now $97 for a set of three.  His bracelets are my favorite!  They also come in a black set.

Happy Thursday.  I don’t know about ya’ll but my kids are out of school today, tomorrow , and Monday- it may be a LONG couple of days.  Frances is obviously not thrilled her alone time with me is interrupted by her brother:)

Last weekend Matt and I went out to dinner with a few of our friends for restaurant week.  I am about to give up on restaurant week, the food is just never that good.  We did however have a great time!

The top I am wearing I picked up at local shop Thera M, they have a medium still in stock!

Blouse (also in white) | Jeans | Purse  | Shoes

and I have to show off my shoes, I bought after Christmas for 75% off!  They are calf hair and kind of amazing.

Vince Calf Hair Pumps

My arm candy is my go to comb these days

Spike Bracelet | Crystal Bracelet

Us ladies at dinner.

I snapped this adorable picture of Frances napping with her baby and purse.  Two of her favorite gifts!

Dress | Crib Sheet (use code FRESH for 20% off)

Purse (it comes with keys, a credit card, and phone too)

I made Gwyneth Paltrow’s Slow Roasted Tomato Soup this week and it was so good.  The tomatoes give it great flavor.  I added a little fresh Parmesan and used whole milk for those with her cookbook following.  I served it with cheese toast sticks which is just bread toasted with cheese (I use sharp cheddar and guoda) and cut into strips, perfect for dipping!

Thanks for all the book recs! I just started reading The Langauge of Flowers and I am already hooked.  Such a great read, I am already almost halfway through it!

I also ordered Molly Sim’s new book.  I am a huge fan of hers and I have to say the book is really informative, and I am loving it so far.  I am going to make her green soup recipe this weekend and I have been doing her yoga sequence everynight.

We finally booked our first vacation in 8 years.  Besides going on our family beach week and out of town for weddings Matt and I have not had an adult vacation with no kids!  We are going to St Maarteen for a week in June!!  We are going with one of my best friends and her husband and I could not be more excited!  I would love recs from anyone who has visited the island before!

Since we booked out trip all I can think about is resort wear!  Stay tuned for many wish lists on what I hope to pack.  This cover-up is top of my list.

|| Emborderied Cover-up

They finished painting our kitchen cabinets yesterday and I am thrilled with the results.  They look awesome.  I went with Benjamin Moore Decorators White.  Next up is a new back splash and we are thinking wood floors instead of the tile also.

Ignore all the crap on the counters- true life crap eveywhere always.

I went on my first run in almost two months this week.  It was beyond painful, I am still sore but it felt so good to really sweat and work out hard.  I enjoyed a glass of the most delicious cab afterwards while we cooked our dinner.  Highly recommend it!

Running Shoes ( on sale)

Meet my new favorite jeans, The Emma from DL1961 (remmington wash).  They suck you in and don’t stretch.  Love the color and the distressed look.  They run TTS.

We have had the yuckiest weather this week.  Thank goodness for the library, I took the kids there every afternoon.

Frances’ Faux Fur Jacket is our favorite and currently 50% off!

Enjoy your day!

Life Lately

Dec 15, 2014

This last week Sterling had two of his 6 cavities filled.  As you know I was freaked out about this.  I was a complete nervous wreck the entire time but you know what it all turned out ok.  He had no reaction to the two medicines they gave him and he had no idea what he went thru.  He actually slept for most of the procedure.  He did end up having to get two silver fillings because the cavities had reached his nerves.  We have 4 more to fill- but at least next time I won’t be as stressed out. All I can think about now is Little Wayne when I see his mouth:)  Bling Bling.

I received the most beautiful bracelet from Etkie.  If you are not familiar with this site you must check it out.  The jewelry is handmade by artisans in New Mexico and the detail is just amazing.  This would make a beautiful gift for someone.

I am wearing the Laura Cuff.

A few of the other beautiful bracelets from Etkie.  You can use code HOLIDAY14 to get 20% off your order!!

I took this picture of the kids Monday morning before school and it made me laugh- my sentiments about Monday too.

Frances is wearing the Old Navy Poncho I mentioned last week.  Its so cute on and on sale!

I stopped in Forever 21 this week and found the most gorgeous cardigan.  It seriously looks so expensive in person, it kind of reminded me of Chanel and it is only $29!  I am wearing a size small.

Thursday night I hosted a dirty Santa Party.  It was such a fun idea and a tradition I hope to keep up every year.  No pictures of the gifts because some were too naughty to share but I will tell you we all got some good laughs out of the gifts!

Setting up with some of my favorite wines from Wine Awesomeness and Cupcakes from Sugar always a good combo.

A few of the apps I made.

Melon Proscuitto Skewers | Stuffed Endive Boats | Cheese Tray

If you like champagne I highly recommend this kind from Wine Awesomeness.  It came in my box one month and now I just keep ordering it.  To get festive for the party I froze some cranberries to put in our champagne glasses.

Balance Champagne (and its onsale right now for $10!)

I wore my new French Connection Blouse paired with an old Banana Republic Necklace for the party.
Blouse | Jeans | Similar Necklace | Shoes

Sterling and I made one of the Creature Feature Tee shirts by Neve Hawk and let me tell you it was so fun.  It comes with a pack of different eyes, mouths, and accessories that you can iron on your shirt.  Great for your kids imagination because they can design the face and tee shirt.  I will be buying these for gifts!
Monster Tee

Had a blast playing with our Be Jolly Party Props from Hattan Home– all their Holiday Stuff is on sale right now!

Ended the weekend with my favorite Shrimp Nachos!  Recipe is under the recipes tab!

Have a great week.

31 days til Christmas.  Can you believe it??   I am itching to start decorating and put our tree up but Matt insists  I need to wait til after Thanksgiving.  I get it but seeing everyone’s trees up on instagram is making it hard!  I want white lights, and sparkles and lots of decorations now.

Life has been busy lately and I am sure it will stay that way til the end of the year!

My mom came in town the beginning of the week for a quick visit with her friend.  We enjoyed two fabulous meals at Indaco and Zao Bao Biscuit.  It was a quick visit but I always love spending time with my mom.

Denny Cardigan | Tee Shirt | Leggings | Glasses | Booties

Sterling and I stuffed and delivered our boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  I am trying hard to teach him not everyone is as fortunate as he is.   He doesn’t get it yet but I hope it will set in one day and traditions like these will help remind him what Christmas is about- giving.

I worked on my Thanksgiving Table Setting.  I will share my menu tomorrow.

Napkins | Napkin Rings | Plates

Friday I went with Sterling’s class on a Field Trip to Middleton Plantation.  It was so fun, I had never been before.  If you have kids you should visit we had a blast!  It is just gorgeous out there.  It was so nice to have some one on one time with Sterling because that never happens these days.

The animals were our favorite part.  I could not get over how beautiful the peacocks where.  Just stunning in person and the colors were so vibrant.

This little guy is a Cashmere Goat and you guessed it that is where cashmere sweaters come from. He was so incredibly soft.

After the field trip we went to Trader Joes and picked up some Boxwood wreaths and a gingerbread house kit for Sterling.  I hung three on our front windows and love them.  Hoping they stay alive til Christmas!

and I am officially obsessed with the battery powered LED lights.  I found some at TJMaxx and stocked up, they are so awesome!

Saturday night we cooked homemade Big Macs and they were insanely good. Recipe is under Main Courses in the recipe tab.

This dress I ordered for some holiday events came in the mail and I really love it.

On sale Here in select sizes.

I planted a winter garden with kale and swiss chard I am so excited about!

I eat so much kale it will be nice to just go out back and pick it.

Sterling, oh Sterling.  He is such a handful these days and so exhausting but man he makes me smile.  Two favorite scenes from the week.  The first picture he came out dressed like this and said ” I am business Daddy on a work call.”   I could not stop laughing because he kept the same serious face expression and had no pants on.

and the second picture we had an impromptu dance party Friday night while we waited on Matt to get home.  Batman had some sweet moves.

You can see in this picture where our cabinet used to be that we had knocked down.  It is so awesome to have that space opened up into our dining room.  This week we are building built-ins around the fridge for more storage and then the cabinets will be painted.  I am looking for a great gray color any suggestions?

and this girl, she turns one tomorrow!!

Have a fabulous Monday.

I hate Mondays and like them all at the same time.  I am sad the weekend is over but always ready for a fresh start to get a lot accomplished.

Sterling had a soccer game Saturday morning and scored his first goal at a game.  I was so proud of him.  I love the Saturday morning soccer games it is a fun start to Saturday.  Watching the kids play is adorable and sometimes comical.

The grey top I am wearing is a new favorite from LaSenorita Jolie.  I love the scoopneck and it is so soft!!

|| Kristin Top (Use code LSJ-DBDD to get free shipping)

I have mentioned my love for Spanx leggings before but when I saw they came out with a new Faux Leather pair I about flipped out.  I promptly ordered them and they did not disappoint.  If you want faux leather leggings for the fall you must order these!  They suck you in and are so flattering.  Trust me these are a must for Fall.  They already sold out on Shopbop and Revolve where I ordered mine so get them while you can!

|| Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

I had a great grocery run at Trader Joe’s this week.  Two new things I am now obsessed with are the  mozzarella sticks and cinnamon roll bread.

The wine is also excellent, from The Wine Store in Charlotte.

Frances Moon turned 10 months last week.  Where has this first year gone??

She just started crawling about 2 weeks ago and is always on the move.  She can’t quite pull herself up yet but we practice by strengthing her legs and she loves it.

I have become a regular at Park Cafe, their breakfast is the best. I tried the tomato toast last week and it was so good, it inspired me to create my own.

I made whipped ricotta which is basically just ricotta, salt, and olive oil.  You can mix it in a food processor or with beaters until fluffy. Lightly toast your bread, then spread a layer of the whipped ricotta, and top with fresh sliced tomatoes.  Add salt and pepper and toast 3-5 minutes.  Sprinkle with chives and enjoy.  It is a really delicous combo!

I spent Sunday morning at Urgent care dealing with a UTI- never fun.  However Sterling kept me laughing the whole time I waited.   The doctors put him to work with his gloves on:)

One of my favorite maxi dresses is on major sale 50% off.  I wear mine often.

Happy Monday.

Aug 29, 2014

Happy Friday Y’all!!  I am so excited for the long weekend, my family is here plus one of Matt’s best friends is staying with us this weekend.  It will be a busy weekend but a fun one!!  So for the past week I have been sick, I finally went to the doctor Tuesday and was diagnosed with bronchitis, a sinus infection + an asthma flare up.  Anyone who knows me well, knows I don’t go to the doctor unless I am bad off, I hate medicine but in this case thank goodness for modern medicine I am finally feeling better and on the road to recovery!!  Being sick and taking care of two little kids is hard!

While I was sick, I decided I needed some homemade muffins to feel better.  I made these Zucchini Carrot and Coconut Muffins- recipe HERE.  I forgot how good these babies were!

I have three new make-up items to share I am loving.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner– I am a big fan of pencil eyeliners.  This one works great, goes on well and even.

Chanel Eyeshadow–  this is my first Chanel eyeshadow and I have to say I love it.  You can wear it light during the day or do a great smokey eye at night.  I have the sable color combo.

Burts Bees Deep Pore Scrub– this stuff is amazing for exfoliating.  I use it with my clarisonic in the shower about every other day.

I am a huge fan of May books.  I love to use them for my to-do lists.  I usually keep one at home beside my desk and one in my purse.  Lately Sterling has gotten really into drawing too so I ordered him his own book for doodles back when they had the 40% off sale.  He keeps it on his night table and draws before bed, it is so cute.

If you have not signed up for it yet, you must sign up for the Skimm.  It is a great daily newsletter that is emailed to you every morning and it includes a brief version of all the latest news around the world.  I just love it, it makes me feel updated on all the current events and I don’t have to read a huge long article. Sign up Here.

I have been loving my JCrew laser cut shirt I blogged about last week.  I wore it twice this week.  Use code WEEKEND to get 40% off.  It runs large order down a size and several of you asked if it was cropped, and it is not cropped at all, I am almost 5’10 and the length is fine.  It comes to $35 with the discount!

and The House of Harlow Sunburst Necklace is one of my favorites, it goes with everything.  Right now it is on major sale (50% off in an olive snakeskin color) here

JCrew Laser Cut ShirtHouse of Harlow Necklace

Right now at Nordstrom a lot of their House of Harlow jewelry is 50% off.  I love this sharks tooth necklace.  It was $72, down to $35- such a great price.  You could wear it alone or layer it with a longer pendant necklace.

House of Harlow Sharks Tooth Necklace

Sterling went to his first soccer practice this week and he did so well.  I was a proud Mama.  He knew no one on his team which is hard for him sometimes but he got out there and played really well

I recently ordered this book, The Glow.  It is filled with such inspiring stories from moms about childbirth and after.  I have really enjoyed reading.  This would make a great gift for an expectant Mom.

Frances is not yet crawling but has started to get pretty mobile.  I thought of this genius idea to contain her while we had happy hour outside. She loved being in the laundry bin and thought it was so funny.

We enjoyed a new tequila (to us) that we loved.  Muy Bueno!

Milk and Honey Luxuries was so sweet to send us this adorable spoon.  Sterling and I say this everyday to each other so the spoon was very fitting.  I am now kind of obsessed with her shop and adorable spoons.  Shop her Etsy site HERE.

And speaking of cereal that is the Publix version of Captain Crunch or Monkey cereal as Sterling calls it and it is good for like half the price!

I took Sterling and Frances plant shopping with me.  If you have kids Hyams Garden Store is such a great activity.  They love riding on the carts and feeding the koi fish.  Then I get to browse their gorgeous garden selection.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Labor Day Weekend!!

A few Labor Day sales to note:

Tory Burch you can save up to 30% off your order.  Use code LABORDAY14

Life Lately

Jul 7, 2014

Did everyone have a fabulous 4th of July?  We definitely did.  We worked hard on our screen porch/patio area that we are trying to spruce up but had some fun on the side too.

I headed to Charlotte last week to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and hit up Ikea to get some goodies for our porch.  Ikea with two kids was not a good idea, even with my mom with us we were totally overwhelmed.  I did manage to find everything on my list.

Tee Dress | Teddie Tote (on sale)

I found these awesome pots on clearance at Homegoods in Charlotte.   Normally I would have passed them over because they were blue and yellow but my mom talked me into buying them and spray painting them because they were so cheap.  I am so glad she did because they turned out awesome!  I used Rustoleam in a natural stone color, it is perfect for pots.

After two coats of paint we planted some plants in them.  It is my goal to keep these plants alive.  I usually kill everything I plant but I am on a mission this time- I even bought plant food.

While we were in Charlotte I hit up one of my favorite stores Scout and Mollys.  I grabbed this Pink Stitch dress in bright turquoise. You might remember I blogged about my navy one awhile back, such a great dress for a great price.  I loved the coral I am wearing but it was a touch too tight, they didn’t have my size.  Stop in if you are in Charlotte! Frances is always a great shopping buddy.  I wear a 4 for those curious about sizing.

and I just found out it comes in this leopard print version, you know I need this!

One of my favorite places to eat while I am home in Charlotte is Wolfgang Puck’s Pizza place at Phillips Place.  I love the pizza there.  The crust is so light and amazing.  We shared a kale salad and the goat cheese pesto pizza and the spicy chicken pizza.  All was amazing.

Frances loved the crust.  My girl loves to eat.

Friday and Saturday my sweet Dad worked all day laying tile on our screen porch.  I will show some before and after pictures when I am done with everything.  The tile was the first step and we got it knocked out this weekend.  It amazes me how my Dad knows how to do everything.  He made this seem so easy.

I got down with the pressure washer while Dad worked on the porch.  We had no idea how dirty our patio and driveway were til we pressure washed them.  That thing works wonders.

Friday we took a break to head to the Yacht Club with some friends to hang out and watch the fireworks for the 4th.

Saturday we cooked dinner for my parents as a thank you for all the hard work they did over the weekend.  I was so excited to get showered and dressed after being in workout clothes with no make-up and covered in dirt all weekend!

Rag and Bone Nicole Tank (on sale)| Equipment Shorts | Kendra Scott Necklace

My appetizer spread for the parents.

And yes that is a pesky fly on the cheese, we quickly moved in the bugs were so annoying.  All washed down with our favorite tequila.

A sneak peek of the tile my Dad put down.  I could not be more thrilled with the results.  I wanted it to look like slate and I think it really does!

Don’t miss the new Piperlime sale.  You can take additional 30% off all sale merchandise for the next two days!  Use code EXTRASALE!

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/lookbook.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof(window.__lookbook) === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__lookbook.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘lookbook-script’);

Life Lately

May 5, 2014

Good Monday Morning!  Did everyone have a great weekend?  We certainly did, time with old friends is good for the soul!

This past week was a whirlwind after getting back from Dallas.  I had stuff almost every night and then one of my oldest friends and her sweet family came to visit us for the weekend.

This week the fabulous Jamie Meares hosted a Furbish Pop-Up Shop here and let me tell you it was so awesome!!  I loved getting to see all her stuff in person.  I wanted to take everything home with me.

Luckily I had Frances to help me narrow things down.

This is what I ended up with:

Noomi Necklace | Tassel Necklace | Dot Napkins

And of course the best part was hanging out with Jamie.  She is such a cool gal.

Outfit Details

Equipment Logan Blouse (same style different print) | Rag and Bone Skinny Jeans | Madewell Pumps

Then Thursday night was the Hampden and Tibi Runway Show.  Amy Smilovic the designer of Tibi was actually there and we got to see the Fall line, and trust me it is good!

I wore an old Tibi Dress and my new Noomi Necklace (its on sale right now for $18!) Wearing my Madewell Pumps again, I swear they go with everything.  I have been wearing them non-stop.

For lunch this week I made a version of my Greek CousCous but instead of CousCous I used tricolor quinoa and added in chickpeas.  It was awesome.

Then it was on to the weekend.  Erin one of my oldest and best friends came to visit with her family.  She had her third baby girl 3 weeks before I had Frances and this was their first time meeting!  Hopefully they will be best friends for life.

Her girls are seriously the cutest.  Sterling had so much fun playing with them.  It did make me realize that 3 kids is hard work, dealing with 5 kids all weekend was interesting for sure.  No one was ever happy at the same time and someone always needed something!

We spent Saturday afternoon at the Yacht Club, the weather was just perfect.

We ate an incredible lunch at The Glass Onion, I love that place!  I have never had a bad meal there, it is always so fresh.

Sunday Matt had to work for a few hours so I took the kids to the beach.  Our first trip of the season.  Of course Rufus joined us.

and I have to show a full view of Frances Moon’s Marysia Swim bathing suit.  I have been waiting months to dress her in this, it is so darn cute!

Leaving you with this wonderful quote from Mother Theresa.

xoxo
