Scenes From Our Memorial Day Weekend

May 31, 2016

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.  I am always so thankful for all those men and women who fearlessly serve and protect our country everyday.   Land of the free because of the brave.

A few snaps from the past few days.

A little happy hour spread from Thursday night when we hosted our neighbors Rick and Gary for dinner.  This Sauvignon Blanc is a new favorite.  Super light and crisp.

We just adore Rick and Gary.  If you ever need a photographer they rock, they snap my blog pictures often we always have a blast!

What I wore:

Tee Shirt Dress (use code WEEKEND to save 30%) | Necklace | Sandals | Tote

Friday I spent the day organizing my jewelry in this new acrylic case.  It is so nice to have it all organized and in one spot.

This dress I ordered last week arrived.  I wanted to wear it over the weekend but of course all it did was rain.  It is made out of really light cotton and it is fully lined with a built in bra.  I just love the bright, bold colors.

Hat | Dress | Earrings | Tote | Flip Flops

That night we took the kids to the yacht club because we knew the weather was going to be yucky the rest of the weekend.  So happy we got to spend one evening outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

I am wearing the Mara Hoffman Swing dress I shared over the weekend.  It is still on sale!

Dress | FlipFlops | Bracelets

We managed to catch a stunning sunset.

Saturday morning Sterling and I went on a quick run before the down pour started.  This beach is about a mile from our house so we frequently run (well I run and Sterling rides his bike) here and stop to look for shells and shark’s teeth.

That afternoon I took the kids to see the Angry Birds movie.  I have to admit I was dreading seeing that movie I really don’t like the angry birds but I was pleasantly surprised it was really cute.

Sterling had a friend spent the night that night and I snapped the cutest picture of them in bed.  It almost looked like they were holding hands while they slept.

Breakfast at our favorite spot Bagel Nation the next morning.

I love the Denver Bagel.

That night we headed to my parents for happy hour with a few of their friends who were in town visiting and then to dinner with our friends.

I made this easy app:  Prosciutto + Melon + Mozzarella.

My mom snapped the best picture of us, I swear it is rare that we are all looking at the camera.  This one is a framer!

What I wore:

Blouse | Necklace  (if you love local the blouse and necklace came from Beckett Boutique)

Jeans | Ring | Sandals

Monday morning I tried out another new recipe from Chrissy Teigan’s cookbook.  French Toast Casserole with Salted Frosted Flakes.  It was good but so rich and heavy.  We did however love the salted frosted flakes on top!

I also wanted to share one of my favorite cover-ups is back in stock this year.  I packed it last year for our trip to St Maarten and I will be packing it again.   I can’t believe in 3 short weeks we will be back there!

Cover-Up

Have a great day!  I am off to the gym and starting a detox diet before our vacation- too much indulging lately!  Lots of clean eating ahead:)

Scenes From Our Memorial Day Weekend

May 26, 2015

Happy Tuesday y’all, although it kind of still feels like Monday to me.  Four day weekends always throw me off.  This is our first real week home with no school.  We are ready to enjoy our Summer, although I do kind of like a schedule:)

I hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend. I am always forever grateful to those men and women who so fearlessly serve and protect our country.

Matt had a few of his best friends come stay for the weekend, they do this every year.  So I packed up and headed to my parents condo down here for a mini staycation with my parents and sister and brother in law.  We had a blast and it is always nice to have extra help with the kids.

Friday morning we took the kids to Wonderworks to play.  We just love that toy store, they have the coolest toys and gifts.

Matt came over for happy hour Friday night before his friends arrived and we managed to get a pretty good family picture.

Wearing Embroidered Top + White Jeans

Frances Moon’s Flamingo romper is only $16!

Close up of the detail of my top.  I love the embroidery detail.  It runs tts, I am in a size 4.

Of course on the first day a horse fly bit my foot and I had a major allergic reaction.  My foot was so swollen and painful the entire weekend.

We spent much of the weekend at the pool.

Marysia Bathing Suit | Sunglasses | Frances Moon’s Swim suit

Barbara Cobb was sweet enough to send me and Frances beach hats and we adore them!!  You create your own by picking your inner and outer fabrics and monogram. You can see all the fabric choices and create your own here.  She also makes matching beach totes:)  I decided to make our hats coordinate with the same inner black and white fabric.

We enjoyed a fabulous dinner out at Big Belly.  I am totally obsessed with their tempura flounder tacos. Try them next time you go!

Wearing my palm print blouse.  It has been on heavy rotation lately.

We loved having cousin Finley in town too.  These 3 have so much fun together.

I couldn’t resist the matching pjs for Frances and Sterling.

The kids with my parents.  Of course they all would not look at the camera.  Just missing our other sweet cousin Maxton!

Sunday we attempted to take our boat out but it was pretty rough so we just sent the men and enjoyed a few cocktails at the Yacht Club after plus a killer sunset.

Joe Fresh Cover-up

Monday was super low key but ended with a fabulous cocktail my Dad created.  This cucumber martini is so refreshing!!

Followed by a kick ass Salsa Verde Enchilada Casserole.  I will share the recipe tomorrow!

Let’s do this Tuesday!
