Scenes From Our Weekend

Oct 17, 2016

Hello Monday!  We had such a fun weekend, I just love this time of the year.  The weather is perfection.  Also thank you to everyone who left me NYC recs!  We fly out Wednesday morning and I am super excited to explore the city.

Friday after school we headed to Vintage Coffee Shop for an afternoon playdate.  We love this place.  Us moms can enjoy a glass of wine outside and the kids can play.  They also have delicious food!

Right when we got there Sterling lost a tooth! We put it on a cup and set it aside for the tooth fairy:)

All the kids piled up.

Delicious rose for the moms.  I spotted this rose at the ABC store on Daniel Island and it is only $11.

 What I wore:

Ruffle Tee | Necklace | Jeans | flip flops | Purse

I finally jumped on the casual sneaker bandwagon.  I figured I needed comfy shoes for walking around NYC.  I love this Joie pair.  I have not worn them all day but so far they feel comfortable and I love the blush color.  I ordered a 1/2 size up from what I normally wear.

Kidmore sneakers | also in black and gray

Saturday morning I went to a fun event with some girlfriends and got a chemical peel.  I have never had a chemical peel before and I loved it.  This was a type where you leave and your skin immediately looks and feels brighter and fresher.  No peeling or redness and you can even put on make-up right after.  It was a latic acid peel and I can’t wait to get another one.  My skin feels so smooth, scrapping the dead skin off made such a difference.  I snapped this picture afterwards and I feel like my skin looks so much better than it normally does.  Locals I had the procedure at Sheperd Integrative Dermatology.  Amy did my peel and she is amazing!

After that we headed to lunch at Obstinate Daughter.  It is one of my favorite restaurants but I don’t get there frequently because it is so far from our house.

Everything on the menu is amazing but I especially love the beet salad.

We also shared the truffled farro, prosciutto apple salad, gnocchi and Pizza.

Saturday night we put up more spooky decorations and watched Toy Story 3.

I cozied up in this sweater.  It is a must have for Fall.  It is on sale right now for $35 and comes in 6 different colors.  I knew I would wear the black the most but I also love the oatmeal and dark green colors.  It runs TTS, I am wearing a small.

Sweater

Sunday we went to church.

How sweet is Frances Moon’s dress??  You can find it here at Smocking birds.  They have awesome prices for smocked dresses.

After church we met my friend Ashley and her kids for brunch at Ellis Creek Fish Camp.  It is my kid’s favorite restaurant.  The views are spectacular too!

I tried out their Blonde Bloody Mary made with local heirloom tomatoes and it was so good!  It was a lighter take on a Bloody Mary and refreshing.

I also had the fried Grouper sandwich, very tasty.

I love this picture I snapped of Sterling, Frances and Effie.  They look like a little family:)

The weather was perfection and they had a guy playing music so all the kids danced and had the best time.

I am wearing my Mara Hoffman shirtdress I ordered from the Shopbop sale.  It is sold out there but I found it online HERE.  It also comes in a really pretty gray color as well.    I am wearing a size small.

A few Fall favorites I am loving lately.

The sunnies are only $12 and the scarf is only $25!  The flats are my favorite because they are so comfortable.  Nail color is emeraude and lip gloss color is milky blueberry/

Flats | Scarf | Clutch | Necklace | Sunglasses | Nail Polish | Lip gloss

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Scenes From Our Weekend

I can not believe we are less than two weeks away from Thanksgiving!!  I need to start planning my menu STAT!

We had such a lovely weekend, here is what we did.

Friday night our dear friend Julia and her husband were in town.  It is always such a joy to see her and catch up!  Last time we saw each other was the week after Frances was born so it had been almost a year!!  We always laugh and pick right back up where we left off, like good friends do.  We had a delicious dinner at Basil.

Wearing : Jacket | Blouse | Jeans | Earrings | Shoes

Saturday morning I took the kids to the Wonder Works Christmas event.  Sterling had a blast.  He is Frozen obsessed so he loved the Frozen performance.

and how cool is this inflatable igloo?  It comes with shields and then you buy these fake snowballs to have snowball fights.  It was a huge hit with all the kids.

I was so excited for the cold weather to dress Frances Moon in her new Gap stuff from the Friends and Family sale!

Hat | Vest | Leggings | Shoes

and I can’t forget my sweet boy who loves to dress himself.

Inside out and backwards sweater- that sums it up.  I honestly love seeing what he puts together for the day.

I am so excited because I tracked down two sets of the Nate Berkus Holiday plates.  I plan to use these for our Thanksgiving Dinner.

I gave Frances Moon’s Peacock Chair a little make over for her birthday.  I want to buy this metallic gold spray paint in bulk I love it so much.

I was super proud of the breakfast I made Sterling this week, thank you pinterest for the idea.

Our new runner arrived for Hallway and I just love it.

Had a blast with some mustaches we found while cleaning out toys.

Enjoyed some time by the fire pit again.  Matt has been making some pretty bad ass fires lately.

Cooked an amazing Sunday Dinner.  Our favorite Chili + Winter Slaw (recipe from the new Ina Cookbook and I know I am a broken record about her book but its so good).

We had the best weekend.  I was able to get out for a girls night which is always nice and then I accomplished alot around the house.

Friday Sterling’s new rug from Lulu and Georgia arrived and we were so excited to put it down.  The kids loved it so much (it is super soft) that we did happy hour in Sterlings room Saturday night:)  I can’t wait to paint his walls next, might tackle that over Spring Break!  The rug is perfect for a kids room or playroom because it is an indooroutdoor rug, so it is easy to clean and the price is not too expensive!

Friday night I went out for an awesome girls dinner out.  Sara and Mandy were in town and we had so much fun with them.  It is always so neat to finally met your blog friends in real life.  We met at The Ordinary for drinks and had dinner at The Grocery.

Mandy | Me | Chassity | Caycee | Amy | Sara

I wore my Leopard Equipment blouse.  Ladies this blouse is such a great fit, and pattern.

Blouse available here on major sale, here, here , and a different pattern here.

Loving this picture of me and Frances we snapped before I left.  I love going out but also love coming home to my kids.

Saturday I tackled cleaning off our patio and porch area it was embarrasing there was so much crap out there.  I cleaned everything off and next is project screen porch to playroom transformation.  It is a small area but right off the kitchen so I can easily watch the kids play out there.  It will be perfect for storing larger toys etc.

I posted on instgram how we order pizza every single weekend and I loved all the comments from other people who order pizza as much as we do!   Pizza is one of my favorite foods.

Sunday I whipped up a batch of three ingredient PB Cookies.  They were so easy and so good. Recipe is: 1 egg, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup pb.  Mix together and scoop onto baking sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees 12 mins.  Halfway thru and at the end I pressed them with a fork and sprinkled with sugar.

I will leave you with this picture of Sterling and his best attempt at a “real” smile.  I love how hard he tries to show me a genuine smile and it is always so over the top!

Scenes From Our Weekend

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did! Matt’s best friend got married and the whole weekend was perfection. We ate amazing food all weekend and enjoyed such great company.

Friday marked Sterling’s last day of Vacation Bible School, he loved it!  Sometimes I can’t believe how fast he is growing up.

Friday night we had the Rehearsal Dinner at Magnolias and it was beyond delicious. As usual I waited til the last minute to decide what to wear, my clothes are all starting to be a little tight  but somehow I managed to zip my belly up in my favorite Milly Dress.

Saturday was the wedding and it was beautiful.  Matt and I somehow managed to color coordinate our outfits without planning to.  Probably the last time I wear this cute dress til after the baby it was definitely borderline too tight!

I am wearing Rebecca Taylor Dress + Baublebar Necklace

The bride and groom.  Such a great couple.  And her sweet dog Scout walked down the aisle with her.

Matt and his two best friends. I have started calling Matt the Silver Fox- check out all the gray hair happening.  He claims it is from Sterling and I and all the stress we bring:)   I give him a hard time but I actually find it really attractive.

Sunday we attended the most amazing brunch at the house of Callie (her daughter created Callies Biscuits)  The view and food was incredible.  By far one of the best meals I have ever had!

Wore these shoes basically all weekend.  They are my new favorite shoes and on sale right now for 40% off- the black ones are an even better deal at 60% off!

{Enzo Katira Sandals}

Finally my little man is officially loving the water now.  Huge accomplishment.  Still trying to get him to swim or jump in with a float but we are making progress!
