Scenes From Our Weekend

Sep 25, 2017

Is it crazy to anyone else that this the last week of September??  Holy moly this year is flying by!  I saw Christmas stuff out at stores this week and that is nuts.  And yes I put out pumpkins before October 1, things I swore I would never do but the kids made me:)  I tried on some Fall clothes I had ordered for my mom to look at while she was in town.  I always like to get her opinion on my outfits.  This top and leggings were a definite yes!  Tomorrow I will be featuring an outfit styled with the leggings so stay tuned!

Thursday night we celebrated our good friend’s birthday at Waters Edge.  The view was great, the food not so much.

Saturday I spent the day with my mom we ran errands and I took her by my favorite wine shop Monarch Wines.   They have such an awesome selection of wines and Justin the owner is super knowledgeable and helpful when you are selecting your wines!

We enjoyed this red Saturday night and we all loved it.

After wine shopping I picked out some pumpkins for our front porch.

What I wore and this entire look will be coming to the blog tomorrow:)

Saturday night I had my parents over for Happy Hour.  I always like an excuse to create a charcuterie board. I had lots of questions about what was on the platter so from top right it is:

Endive, pretzels, Genova Salami, grapes, blue cheese, calabrese salami, aged gouda, flax crackers, and St Andre cheese.  In the middle is hummus + olive oil and everything but the bagel seasoning, olive tapenade, and baby pickles.

Sunday the kids and I went to early church.

The prettiest window boxes on our way to church.

What I wore:

Dress (on sale) size down as it runs on the large side I am wearing an XS.

After church we met my parents for brunch at Hen and Goat- I know I talk about this place all the time but it is our new favorite!

I finished my first week of the BBG program.  I will do an entire post on this but I wanted to wait until I had done it for awhile.  A few answers to frequently asked questions:

The workouts are all right around 35 minutes.  You have 3 days of cardio and 3 days of training.  I do the workouts at home usually in my den or kitchen and stream through my computer.  I use the App not the workbooks.  The only equipment you need is a yoga mat, weight bench (I ordered this one pictured below), a jump robe and a set of weights.  I am not following the diet although I did order her cookbook just for recipe ideas.  I plan to maybe loosely follow the diet.  Her book is gorgeous by the way and filled with lots of great recipes.  The workouts are hard but definitely doable.  I like that they are only 30 minutes.  I report back maybe after the 1st month is over.

Roasted Squash with Parmesan cheese, always a favorite.  We had this for dinner last night with our favorite Tuscan Chicken Cakes.

Have a great Monday!

  1. That roasted squash is making my mouth water. I also put out pumpkins (and mums!) before October 1 — kids will do that to you, it seems. Haha!

Your cheese boards always look amazing. I am going to try the reasted squash with salmon this week.

  3. Excited to hear your thoughts on BBG! I follow her on instagram and the transformations are always insane (although you look amazing already!) . I havent been as good with my Tracy Anderson tapes lately, the new workouts are doing weird things on a chair and I miss the regularly floor and hand weights.

We obviously don’t know each other, but I just want you to know I am genuinely happy to “see” you marching forward with life and with such grace and zest. I know this new chapter of your life was not planned nor is it easy. So when a not-so-easy day presents itself, I hope you remember you are doing an AMAZING job being a mommy, daughter, and friend. xoxo (like Gossip Girl – lol) A West Coast Friend 🙂

How does the the top fit? I am usually a medium but the 2 is sold out.
