Tuesday’s Thoughts

Jan 9, 2018

Today is gonna be a random brain dump.  School got canceled yet again for today.  This is turning into the longest Winter break ever.  I am craving getting back in a routine and set schedule hopefully that happens Wednesday:)   These guys have really enjoyed the snow though and break from school.  Lots of lazy mornings.

Sterling has been all about relaxing:)

Sunday night I had a few neighbors over for happy hour.  I made this cheese plate- it made me think would you guys still like an entire post dedicated to creating a charcuterie board?  I will work on that!

Two recent outfits.   I have been living in leggings and casual wear the past few days.

Sweater Similar | Leggings | Hat | Slippers

This is the vest I keep raving about, love it so much.  I also just ordered these wireless ear buds and have been loving them.

Vest | Sweatshirt (also similar) | Tank Top | Leggings | Hat | Nikes | Earbuds

My skin has been crazy dry lately and these two products have been game changers.   A girl at Sephora recommended both to me and they work wonders on dry skin.  I have been doing the mask a few times a week and my skin feels so nourished and hydrated afterwards.  The eye cream also works great, I use it morning and night.  It apparently helps brighten under eye circles so fingers crossed it works.

Origins Face Mask | Dr Dennis Gross Eye Cream

Picked up a new orchid from Trader Joes for our den.  The agate frame to the left was one of my favorite Christmas gifts.

I have been really into listening to podcasts lately.  Someone turned me onto The Skinny Confidential and I am obsessed.  It is a podcast hosted by Layern Everts Bosstick (also a blogger) and her husband.  They interview various people in the health, beauty, fitness, and social media businesses.  Every podcast I have listened to has been amazing and I have learned so much.  A few favorites : Dr Dennis Gross, B Well By Kelly, and the The F Factor.

After listening to the F Factor podcast, I became really interested in adding more fiber to my diet.  The F Factor diet stresses eating enough fiber every day and how important it is as an aid in weight loss.  They talk about these “GG Crackers” so I ordered some to try.  They have 8 grams of fiber and are supposed to also help suppress your appetite.  Let me be clear they really don’t have any taste at all, but I did feel full after eating them.   I have yet to find the crackers in a store but you can order them HERE.

I crushed them up and added them to my Tuscan Kale salad for dinner + Dr. Praegers Veggie Burger + Roasted Broccolini.  They also recommend eating them spread with cream cheese, avocado or baked like little pizzas with marinara and cheese.

Found the perfect little shift dress.  This is a gray chambray and so soft!  It would be cute now paired with tights and booties and light enough to wear in the Spring with flats.  I am wearing a small.

I am loving these agate cheese knives, I just ordered them- perfect to pair with my cheese platters.

Also need these serving spoons.

Cleaned and organized the fridge, makes me so happy every time I open it.

The avocado toast at the Hen and Goat is amazing!  You must try if you eat there.

Have a great Tuesday!

Love that North Face vest! It looks warm and cozy! I’ve been living in leggings for weeks now.

  3. Try the GG Pizza’s next – especially with Rao’s – you’ll love them!
love your vest, I need a thin lightweight warm one like that – mine are all huge and bulky or thin but not warm.
Hope your routine is back to normal tomorrow!

I found other brands of the cracker at our Fresh Market. They’re really good with some melted cheese or runny eggs and TJ’s everything seasoning!

Hi Natalie! I’m wondering where you got your platter and bowls that are pictured above. I’ve been searching for one but cannot find one I love. Thanks so much!

Hi! My daughter has the same little quilted jacket that Frances Moon is so darling in! We have been lucky enough to get two seasons out of it, but she’ll probably need a bigger size for next year. Any chance that might be a 4t or larger and that you might be willing to sell it at the end of the season?? Just thought I would ask 🙂 Just email me with the info if you might be willing to part with it. Thanks!
