12 Health/Beauty Trends Worth the Hype

Apr 17, 2018

I always love reading and researching new health and beauty trends.  Today I wanted to share a few health/beauty trends and or items that I think are worth the hype.  Some of these are things I have added to my daily routine and some are just products I love.  Let me add I am no professional (clearly obvious) these are just a few things I am digging and like the results.

One | Apple Cider Vinegar

I mentioned on my instastories last week that I had been drinking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water everyday.  I recently read a great article about all the amazing health benefits and figured why not try it.  Some of the many health benefits are: aids in weight loss, shiny hair, detoxifies your body, helps balance out your PH and blood sugar levels, immunity booster and the list goes on.  Thanks to the suggestion of many of you I have now started adding 1 tablespoon of this apple cider vinegar into my hot lemon water every morning, plus a sprinkle of cayenne.  I like the taste in a weird way.  Also several of you asked what kind of apple cider vinegar and it needs to be this organic raw unfiltered kind.  Many grocery stores carry it and so does Amazon.  Also just as an FYI several people recommended making sure the apple cider vinegar was diluted or that you drank it with a straw because the acidity of it can strip the enamel off your teeth.

Several of you mentioned you hate the taste and take the pill version instead.  I don’t mind the taste but if you hate it they do make a pill version.

TWO | Native Deordorant

It has been a month since I switched to Native deodorant, an all natural deodorant.  I had tried many natural deodorants before and still smelled like BO.  This one actually works.  I have even worn it to workout and still don’t stink.  I love it and I smell fresh without putting chemicals on my armpits.  The Coconut Vanilla and Lavender Rose scents are my favorites.

THREE | Dry Body Brush

After hearing all the hype about this I promptly ordered a brush and have been dry brushing my skin before I shower.  It helps to remove to dead skin and helps with your body’s circulation.  You start at your feet and work up your body.  It actually feels really good and helps to exfoliate your skin as well.

FOUR | The Tinkle Shaver

These are technically for your eyebrows but I use them on my whole face.  They get rid of all the peach fuzz and hair you don’t want.  I have heard so many dermatologists and health experts talk about how great it is shave your skin.  Try it you will love it- plus they are crazy cheap.

FIVE | Jade Roller

I have read and heard so much about facial rolling that I had to try it out.  Facial rolling is supposed to help tighten your skin, help blood flow, and reduce puffiness.  People swear by this after surgery.  I roll my face in the morning and I honesty feel like it does tighten your skin.

Six | Hum Hair Vitamins

My friend Cristin (The Southern Style Guide) recommended these and I love them.  Hum is a great Non GMO, Sustainably sourced company.  I think they have definitely helped my hair grow and thicken up.

SEVEN | Jojoba Oil

I have several face oils I rotate between and love.  This one is super cheap only $13 and works wonders on your skin.  I usually apply this at night after I wash my face and before I moisturize or first thing in the morning.

EIGHT | Vital Proteins

I have been using this for powder for about a year now.  I usually add it to my hot lemon water.  It has no taste and the collagen is great for your bones, joints, hair, skin and nails.

NINE | Acupressure Mat

I mentioned this on my last Amazon post but I am loving this mat.   Ben and I both use it frequently .  It feels so good to lay on it.   I had a hurt neck yesterday and laid on it while we watched a movie and I swear it helped to loosen my neck up.  The tiny plastic points mimic acupuncture and help to loosen muscles and get your blood flowing.

TEN | Kopari Lotion

I am officially obsessed with this paraben and sulfate free lotion.  It smells amazing and really hydrates your skin.  It is made with coconut oil and makes your skin feel like silk afterwards.  Since your skin is the largest organ on your body, lotion is one item I really try and use a clean version of.

I also love the body scrub.

ELEVEN | Eye Patches

I keep raving about these eye patches because they are awesome.   Try them and you will love them.  I have the 24k gold and moisture rich ones as well but lately I have been all about the cucumber ones.  The key I think is to keep the cucumber ones in the fridge so they are chilled when you put them on.  The chilled pads feel so good on your skin first thing in the morning and they truly help to tighten and reduce puffiness.  I can feel and see a difference after I remove them.

The 24k gold ones are my next favorite.

Twelve | Steel Cut Oats

My parents got me hooked on these oats. They always order them from Amazon and they are super easy to cook and tasty.  My mom makes them and adds a little honey and chopped nuts or granola.  Oats are great for heart health and blood pressure.

Love this post! SO many great finds! Question–what’s the hype with all natural deodorant? I feel like I’m seeing this everywhere–people switching to more natural. What’s so bad with the conventional kind, like Dove? Honest question! Just the chemicals…?

I am super interested in buying the collagen, but I’ve been reading reviews about people breaking out horribly after using it and have stomach side effects. Has anyone experienced that?

    Hello,

I posted a comment about how this is pseudoscientific and it hasn’t appeared. I hope that you are open enough to allow for free dialog on your blog and that you will allow my post. Thanks.
