Charleston Wine and Food Festival| What Events I Attended + What I Wore

Mar 11, 2019

Happy Monday! I am on major detox this week after overindulging this weekend. It was worth every sip and bite because I had such an amazing time. This was my third year being on the Charleston Wine and Food Media Street Team meaning I have access to almost all the events. They assigned us each to some of the seated events and then I could use my badge for whatever other events I wanted to attend. This year was perfection, I honestly loved every event I attended. Many of you requested a post on what events I attended so I thought I would give you a run down of the events. This is a long post because I wanted to include pictures and info on each event. They already have a weekend picked out for the event next year it will be March 4-9 and tickets will go on sale soon!

THE MAIN VILLAGE TENT TASTING– I have been going to this event since before I had the kids. It is an awesome event where you can to sample so many different wines, beers, liquors and food. This is always held in Marion Square every year. You pay around $100 and upon entry you are given a wine glass and can walk around to different booths. They have the village divided into sections one for beer, wine, liquor, and retail. In those tents there are also food samplings. I went to this all 3 days this year. It is typically Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12-5. I highly recommend this event especially if it is your first time attending the festival.

I loved this white pinot noir. The great thing is they have a wine shop set up in The Village so you can purchase the wines you tasted and liked. For locals, Bottles in Mt Pleasant carries most of the wines.

One of my favorite beers I tried was Allagash. I loved all 4 of these!

This Wolffer Estates Rose is a tried and true favorite.

Highlight of the tents was I got to meet Tiffiani Theissan. I am such a huge fan so this was really cool! Side note how gorgeous is the LeCreuset Wall??

The tents also had a VIP section we were able to take advantage of with other media and PR people.

In addition to tasting wine and food the tents also have a retail section where you can shop local products which is always fun after drinking wine:) These guys at Toadfish Outfitters were the best.

They make this knife that you can peel and devein shrimp with it. I gave my dad one last year for Christmas and he loves it. These make great gifts!

My favorite part of the tents is always running to friends, you see everyone here! Love my neighbors!

SUN, SAND + ROSE – this was a seated a rose tasting. Most of these last about an hour and you get to sample 6 wines. They usually have reps from the vineyard that teach you about each varietal. I love Rose so I really enjoyed this one! I actually loved all 6 roses.

This was one of my favorites we tasted besides Whispering Angel which I always love.

What I wore :

Leopard Dress (also here) | Sneakers

WINDERLUST– This was my first year attending this event and I loved it. Mainly because of the gorgeous background of Lowdes Grove. It was picture perfect. Here chefs made small bites and there was lots of wine to sample plus live music.

We caught the most gorgeous sunset.

CHARDONNAY OR SHOULD I GO– this was another seated wine tasting but with Chardonnay instead of Rose. I love Chardonnay but it can sometimes be too oaky and buttery for me so it was fun to try some new ones. If you really want to learn about wines I suggest these seated events otherwise I prefer the main tents because you get to sample a bigger variety. These seated events are more exclusive though with just a small number of people.

What I wore:

Dress (also HERE) | Necklaces | Sandals

OBSTINATE DAUGHTER BRUNCH– This was hands down prob my favorite event I attended. We sampled 12 courses all paired with wines. Everything was just amazing.

These oysters were off the hook good.

Deviled Eggs with Pancetta and Chili, yes please.

Lox on a homemade bagel doesn’t get much better!

Black Pepper Tagliatelle- this was one of my favorites dishes. It had black eyed peas, ham hock and collards. Simply amazing.

The wines we tasted were all from France. It was fun to taste some wines I was not familiar with. This was a favorite.

What I wore:

Dress (under $60 ) | Pumps | Necklaces

OPENING NIGHT PARTY– This is always such a fun event with live music, lots of food and drinks. This is always held at the tents on Marion Square as a way to kick of the weekend.

What I Wore:

Blouse (also HERE) | Earrings | Jeans Pumps

LeCLUB 843– this was an event hosted out at the Wreck on Shem Creek so it killer views and we lucked out with the most perfect weather. Mike Lata from Fig and The Ordinary did all the food.

This was the sweet couple who won our giveaway to this event!

It was a truly amazing 4 days to say the least. I can’t wait for next year!

This doesn’t have anything to do with this fun piece you posted, but where is your good friend Caycee been? I follow both of you, but nothing from her, just her last piece that said lots have been going on. Tell her we all miss her, but also love your posts.
