Thoughts For Thursday

Mar 7, 2019

Happy Thursday! Last night we kicked off the Wine and Food Festival with the opening party. I know several of you requested an entire post on the Wine and Food Festival and what events I attended and liked. I will do that next week when the festival is over. It is seriously my favorite weekend. Hanging with Ashley and Erin +Tom from Lowcountry Live.

Blouse (also HERE) | Earrings | Jeans | Pumps

My partner in crime for the Festival, Ashley (@sweetsouthernprep). We always have the best time together.

One of my favorite dishes was this lamb taco with pickled onions from The Grocery (no surprise because that is one of my all time favorite restaurants here).

The yummiest dessert from The Sanctuary.

Chilling with the chef from Nico’s- they always have the best oysters.

In my Happy Place.

Twinning with Frances Moon in our tiger sweatshirts.

My Sweatshirt | Kid’s Sweatshirt

I tried out a new spot here called RuRu’s Tacos (they have a location in Charlotte too).

The yummiest tacos- I had the grilled chicken, Korean beef, and Cauliflower.

I am looking for new book recs since I am headed out of town in two weeks, so leave me a message with your favorite easy beach reads! Currently I am reading It Is Not Supposed To Be This Way– a great motivational book about when life hands you disappoints and overcoming them.

I found the cutest cover up on Amazon only $20! Such a steal.

Cover-Up (comes in lots of colors)

Baublebar is running a big sale and you can take 25% off the entire site with code FF25, A few of my favorite pieces are:

Ring Set– I have these in the rainbow colors and love them.

Earrings– I have these in 3 colors love them! I am wearing the gold in the top picture.

Hoops- I have these in ivory and wear them all the time.

Have an awesome day! This really resonated with me, so true.

The dessert from The Sanctuary looks so good, and I love trying out new Mexican restaurants! My brother and his family recently moved to Charlotte, so next time we visit we’ll have to go to Ruru’s!

  2. Julie Mennel says:

Good books that made me think: Educated by Westover, Becoming by Obama, Girl wash your face by Hollis, Unsheltered by Kingsolver

Beach reads: Puddin or Dumplin by Murphy, Charlotte Walsh likes to win, anything by Liane Morairty (page turners!!!), The Rosie Project

  3. Sinclaire says:

I bought that cover up in black and can’t wait to wear it in Mexico next week!

Would you mind sharing all of your book recommendations once you receive them? In need of easy beach reads.

  4. Danielle says:

Some book rec’s for you: For suspense, anything by B.A. Paris, The Woman in the Window, anything by Ruth Ware. For light lovey reads, Colleen Hoover is a favorite, as is Elin Hildebrant, and K A Tucker.

Have a great trip!! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine – definitely lacking here in KY.

For The Love by Jen Hatmaker

Elin Hildebrand for good beach reads! I’m reading Here’s to Us right now, and it’s great!

  7. Liz says:

Read anything by Hannah McKinnon – her genre is beach reads. Also the Tea Rose Trilogy!

  8. Kristen says:

We are reading the same book in our small group at church right now and it’s so good! I also am reading the Bobby Bones book Fight, Grind, Repeat.

  9. Meg says:

The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl (both by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen) are awesome! Read the Wife Between Us in January and now onto An Anonymous Girl which I think I like better so far! Also The Crazy Rich Asian Series is a great and a fun read-I brought the last book of the series with me to the Bahamas in February and couldn’t put it down:)
