6 Wines I am Loving

Oct 4, 2019

Happy Friday! I had lots of requets to share some of my favorite wines. As you all know I love my wine. As far as my taste goes I do not like any sweet wines. I like a drier wine, also don’t like reds that are too jammy or full bodied. Above are 6 of my go to favorite wines that I buy regularly. I usually shop for wine locally at Bottles, Edmunds Oast Exchange, Whole Foods and occasionally Total Wine.

ONE | Andezon – I actually buy this wine in Charlotte at the Winestore. If you live in Charlotte they have a great wine selection and are so knowledgeable. I also love that you can taste the wines. This is a red Cote de Rhone and only $9.99. It is such a steal and so yummy.

TWO | Banshee Pinot Noir– I actually love all Banshee wines. The Chardonnay and Rose are also really good. This is a lovely Pinot Noir. It retails for $24 and I usually buy this at Total Wine.

THREE | Adelsheim Rose – This is a new find I am loving! I am a huge fan of the Adelshein Pinot Noir as well. This rose is dry and crisp and not sweet. Retails for around $22.

Four | Montangy Chardonnay– I love a French Chardonnay. They are so much better than US ones because they are not quite as buttery or oaky. This is one of my favorites. Retails for $15 and I buy this at the Winestore in Charlotte

FIVE | Moulin Gassac– This is the perfect white wine. It is dry and clean tasing. I can’t do sweet whites like Sauvignon Blanc and sometimes Pinot Grigio is too sweet for me as well. This retails for $11.99. They carry at Whole Foods.

SIX| Moulin Gassac Rose– One of my favorite Roses. Retails for $11.99 at Whole Foods and Bottles.

I also wanted to share my favorite wine glasses.

White Wine Glasses– I use these for white wine and rose.

Red Wine Glasses

Also this is the best wine opener! I was given this as a gift years ago and just love it. Super easy to use.

It sounds to me that you don’t like crisp or citrusy wines as well as sweet wines because Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio are not actually sweet. It sounds like you prefer wines (at least when it comes to white ones) with minerality. May I suggest you try Muscadet? It is almost always a complete steal. I’m not sure if it’s because people think it will be sweet because it sounds like another sweet wine, but it’s not. It’s bone dry and minerally and almost has a salinity to it. It’s is a French white and is said to be a perfect pairing with raw oysters and I could not agree more. Anyway, just a suggestion! You can get a great bottle for 12.99.

A good NZ Chenin Blanc should also fit the bill – think tart green apple.

There are lots of great CA Chardonnays that are not aged on oak and that do not go through the malolactic fermentation that creates a buttery taste by lowering a wine’s natural acidity. You just have to know what to look for – unoaked/aged in stainless steel!
