Frances Moon’s Room Makeover

Nov 29, 2022

If you have followed me for a while you may remember years ago in my old house I teamed up with Matrix Kids Furniture to do custom beds in Sterling’s old bedroom. Ever since we moved in the new house Frances had been begging me for bunk beds. I was thrilled when they wanted to work together again. Everything about Maxtrix is seamless and smooth. They have so many cool custom bunk bed options- double, triple, with desks, built in bookshelves, you can even add a slide- so many possibilities. Sterling had a triple bunk bed and for Frances Moon we decided on a XL twin on top queen on bottom. We chose the queen on the bottom because we figured as she got older she may prefer a larger bed. Right now however she loves the top bunk- she snuggles up with all her squishemellows up there.

As many of you know we live in an older ranch brick house (we did at my last house as well).  I love our house but the rooms are not the biggest.  That was one of the main reasons Maxtrix Kids Furniture appealed to me because their beds really optimize space.  They will basically custom build you whatever works best for your space.  If you live locally in Charleston they have a store front shop in Mt Pleasant if you want to browse in person.  They ship everywhere though and have a great online site as well.

In order to find the right fit for Frances Moon’s room I sent the design team measurements of her room along with photos and they put together a proposal for me with what they thought were the best options to work with the space we have to maximize it! We chose the XL twin on top and Queen on bottom with a pull out trundle bed. Frances is at the age where she loves sleepovers so this really allows for Frances plus 2-3 friends to spend the night comfortably. You can also remove the mattress and use the drawer under the bed as storage as well. We also moved the original book shelve that came with Sterling’s design to her room.

Maxtrix Kids Furniture just makes everything so easy. Their customer service is amazing. The design team helps you choose what is best for your space and they send someone out to install it all. Minimal effort was required on my half they did it all! They also have their own line of mattresses so you don’t even have to mattress shop (and the mattresses are so comfortable). The cool thing about the beds is as your kids grow you can reassemble them. They will send someone out if you decide you want to reassemble. My Dad actually took down Sterling;s bunk beds when we moved and reassembled them to twin bunk beds for my nephews.

Frances Moon is just thrilled with her new set up. That top bunk area is like her special place. She keeps stuffed animals, blankets and books up there and it is such a cozy little spot. Definitely check out Maxtrix Kid’s Furniture if you are looking to re-do your kid’s rooms. I can’t speak highly enough about their team, the quality of their products and their customer service!

They gave me a discount code and NATALIE10 will save you 10% on your order!
