Get ready for picture overload! Last week we went to the Cayman Islands for a Memorial Day Weekend trip. We traveled with 2 other families and their kids (we had 7 kids total and 6 adults). It was truly the perfect get away. We rented villas on a gated private property. Our friend Beth just kind of stumbled across this listing and we were like wow, this is perfect for us. The property has 4 villas and each house has two bedrooms and two baths. That gave each family their own house and we let the older boys stay in the 4th villa. The property is on the water with a pool, hot tub, large outdoor dining area and was just perfect for traveling with a group. I can’t say enough great things about it, we would love to go back. It was nice for each family to have our own space. Each house had a full kitchen as well which is always nice when traveling with kids. On our back from the airport we stopped at the grocery store and bought snacks and drinks to have on hand at the houses which was great because each house had their own fridge. The houses were modern and spacious.

Sea Orchid Retreat is the name of the property and Viv the property manger was so helpful!

The houses had 4 cute names Avocado, Mango, Papaya and Pomegranate. We stayed in Avocado and this was the view out of our house. Just perfection.

The property was on the water but it was rocky. Not a lot of sand to sit or lay out on. But the house came with kayaks which the kids loved taking out everyday. The view was pretty spectacular too.

WHAT WE DID |

String Ray Boat Excursion – This was truly the coolest thing ever. We chartered a boat (Silver Thatch and he was amazing) to String Ray Island and swam with the sting rays. I was slightly terrified as there are LOTS of sting rays but such a cool experience the kids loved it. Also Usher happened to be on the boat beside us so that was cool. It was a 4 hour charter so we stopped a few other places but really recommend this!

MACABUCA– this spot came highly recommend by so many of y’all. It is a lunch spot on the water where you can also snorkel. You can rent gear right here and hop right in. The kids loved this and it was a shallow cove where they swam while us adults had drinks and food.

I had the tempura veggie tacos so yum!

TILLEY’S – We loved this spot so much we came twice! This is located on 7 mile beach with crystal clear water! The staff here was amazing and it was perfect because we could eat lunch and kids could go swim and come back as they wanted. They even had towels on hand for the beach goers. The cocktails, food and views were just perfection here. I highly recommend this spot. Their margarita was amazing and honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had.

The Interiors were so beautiful.

Food wise we tried : Citrus Salad, Cucumber salad, conch bites, the burger, and ceviche and all were incredible.

DOWNTOWN SHOPPING | The kids wanted to do some touristy shopping so we strolled downtown which was so cute and kids loved the little shops.

CHEF ROMAN – We also hired a private chef Roman who was incredible. We had him come make breakfast and dinner one night and both were so good. With so many kids and adults it was nice to have someone come to us. He had several menus to choose from for dinner and breakfast. For breakfast we did omelets and pancakes and for dinner we did appetizers and surf and turf which everyone loved. His email for inquiries is : roman_kleinrath@hotmail.com

There were so many places we didn’t get to but we wanted a mix of exploring/relaxing at our house pool and this worked our perfectly for us. An amazing trip with amazing friends. So many memories made!
