A few recent books I have read lately. A diverse collection this time with some fiction and some non fiction, I really liked them all!
Cover Story | This is was very similar to the documentary Inventing Anna. It was a quick and fun read. The main setting is in the office of a fashion magazine which I loved because I always wanted to work at one. It is really kind of mind blowing what the character gets away with and the power of social media and status. 4/5
Reminders of Him | I always love Colleen Hoover books. She does such a good job with characters. This story was really good, the story of a young girl who served 5 years in prison for an accident and the story of her trying to find her daughter and rebuild her life. A good Summer romance read with a twist. 5/5
Greenwich Park | This was a psychological thriller that really kind of kept me guessing. Helen who seems to have a perfect life befriends Rachel also pregnant but with many suspicious behaviors. Rachel threatens to oust the family for a crime committed years ago. This book had lots of twists and turns and I loved it. 5/5
Atomic Habits | Loved this book and I have implemented so much of it into my daily life. Especially habit stacking. This is a great book if you are looking to better yourself and implement some changes. It really focuses on small everyday changes that in turn result in bigger changes!
The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo | I loved this book so much. I am so excited they are making it into a movie. This book is all about a movie star, her 7 marriages and her one true love. 5/5
Into The Magic Shop | This was a super interesting book about a neurosurgeon who against all odds became a neurosurgeon. At age of 12 he was at a dead end in his life, his Dad was an alcoholic and his mom was severely depressed from a stroke. He meets a woman Ruth at a magic shop who teaches him exercises to quiet his mind and manifest his desires. This is all about the ability and power we all have to control our minds. 5/5
Good Morning Monster | Just finished this one and wow it had some really powerful stories. This is the story of 5 people written from a view of their therapist. If you liked the book, Maybe you Should Talk to Someone you will like this one! It was really inspiring what some of these people overcame. 5/5
In Polite Company | This was probably my least favorite of the group because it was a little slow to me at parts. I did love that it was based in Charleston. I loved reading about locals spots and Charleston etiquette. It was pretty spot on about Charleston society:) 3.5/5
