24 Hours in Charleston | New Spots to Check Out

Feb 4, 2019

My sister came into town over the weekend for one day/night and we checked out some new spots I had been dying to check out. I often get emails wanting Charleston recs so I thought I would highlight these new places and what we did in 24 hours:)

What I wore Friday | Blouse | Earrings

Friday night we checked out the adorable pink champagne bar, Camellia’s at Hotel Bennett. They just opened on King Street right across from Marion Square. The hotel is gorgeous and a fun spot for a drink. They also had a cute roof top bar as well. Camellia’s has light bites and cocktails. We had a dirty martini and the tuna tartare which was so yummy.

A great spot for lunch or brunch is Basic Kitchen. It is bright and airy and has such a wonderful menu with fresh and healthy options. This had been on list of places to try forever and I am so glad I did because I am now obsessed.

We started with Beet Margaritas. Sounds crazy but it was the best rita I have had, I will definitely be recreating these at home.

Then we had the buffalo cauliflower- I highly recommend it. They served it with this cashew ranch that was out of this world good.

We both ordered bowls and shared them. We had the Basic Bowl and The Rainbow Bowl. Everything was so healthy yet full of amazing flavors.

After lunch we did a little shopping DT. A few of my favorite shops are Finicky Filly, Vieuxtemps (great gifts), The Skinny Dip (you can drink rose while you shop, they have a bar on the second floor), Small- a new spot by powerhouse Stacy Smallwood who owns Hampden.

After shopping we checked in Hotel Bella Grace for the night. This is a fairly new boutique hotel on Calhoun Street. They were sweet enough to offer us a stay for the night to check out the new hotel. I loved the interior design. I highly recommend this hotel- it is an awesome location and so posh.

We had a room with two queen beds but they also have King rooms as well. The nice thing about the rooms is they all have a full fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and cooktop. So nice to have when traveling with kids. Plus the rooms were spacious and they offer a killer free breakfast buffet to all hotel guests.

I am obssesed with the Hallway carpet and art.

and not to mention the most heavenly beds. I also want to note my dress I bought while we were shopping, it is under $50 and super cute and comfy.

Maxi Dress ( I am wearing a size 4)

We headed to The Citrus Club a new rooftop bar at The Dewberry for pre dinner drinks. This place was adorable- they don’t take walk-ins if you are wanting to check it out you need a reservation even just for drinks.

It was a little chilly to sit outside but this place is gonna be bumping in the Summer. The best city views.

After that we headed to Sorghum and Salt for dinner. I have mentioned them several times, but they are one of my favorite restaurants in town. The menu is always changing and is so innovative. We shared several dishes. The chef really recommended this Pickled Mussels plate which I at first thought I wouldn’t like but we loved it. Crazy good flavors.

The Sunchoke Dip was also killer.

What I wore- I have to mention my camisole because it is only $24 and such a great layering piece.

Camisole | Jeans | Cardigan | Pumps |Belt

If you want to grab a quick bite to eat on your way out of town. I love the Harbinger Cafe. Their Turmeric Chai Latte and Grasshopper Toast (pictured below) are my favorites.

Also here is a picture of our breakfast at Hotel Bella Grace. In addition to the buffet they have a chef named Issac who will cook you eggs anyway you want them:)

A fabulous weekend well spent with my sister!
