My Favorite Lunch Spots in Charleston

Mar 13, 2024

167 RAW

Hands down this is my all time favorite lunch spot. I love the atmosphere and the food is always incredible. They have the best fresh oysters and my favorite oyster shooter in town. Other menu favorites are : The lobster roll. pastrami swordfish sandwich, crudo (changes weekly), crab dip, lobster tostada. The sandwiches usually come with kettle chips but I love to sub the cucumber salad it is so good! They do not take reservations and there is always a wait. We usually put our name on the list and then grab a drink at their sister restaurant Bar 167 or Charleston Place Hotel while we wait.

MELFI’S

They just recently started serving lunch and I am so thrilled. I love the vibe and atomoshere here. They do take reservations which I recommend. The zucchini fries are divine. The Stretch Armstrong pizza is a must. The crudo and chopped salad are also fabulous. Everything here is light and fresh.

LITTLE JACKS TAVERN

I would venture so say this is my favorite cheeseburger in town. I also love their chopped salad and Brussels sprouts. They make an incredible margarita as well. I always start with veggie crudities here, they drizzle them with olive oil and coarse sea salt and they are served with a delicious avocado dip. If you like a veggie burger their Butterbean burger is also amazing.

RANCHO LEWIS

This is one of my most favorite Mexican places in town. They make their own shells + chips and have a self serve salsa bar. All 3 salsas are so different and so incredible. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Cora’s platter is perfect to share with an enchilada, taco and Chile rellano. The chorizo cheese dip is also a must. I love the nachos as well, they are fun because they are individual chips piled high with toppings. The Rancho Rita and Mexican Martini are my favorite drinks here.

POST HOUSE INN

This restaurant is located in the Old Village in Mount Pleasant and I just adore the quaint vibe. It is also a small hotel. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio which is great in the Spring/Summer. I live for their quinoa veggie bowl, it changes weekly and is always so good. The marinated cheese isn’t on the menu all the time but if it is I highly recommend it! The blue crab toast and cauliflower avocado salad are others I love.

LEONS OYSTER SHOP

This is such a fun laid back spot for lunch. Literally everything is great on the menu. A few favorites are the avocado toast, hushpuppies, grilled oysters and Brussels sprouts for starters. The Siam Salad is my go to lunch order but I also love the fried chicken sandwich and grilled fish sandwich. All the sides are divine but. highly recommend the cucumber salad, black eyed pea salad and potatoes. The Little Bird is the best little cocktail!

LUNCHES TO GO :

BAGUETTE MAGIC

You can totally sit here and eat but I often find myself picking up sandwiches to go. My favorite sandwich is the EOC- hummus, tomatoes, pickled zucchini, arugula and sunflower seeds on a fresh baguette. I also love their Caprese, Recovery Baguette and Italian Baguette. The pimento cheese grits and hangover bowl are also amazing. They have amazing speciality lattes as well and. case stocked with homemade pastries.

BON BANH MI

I order this salad to go at least once every few weeks. I always choose the lemongrass chicken as my protein and add jalapeños. I get a side of slaw and mix that in and do both the lime and ginger dressings. Trust me this salad is legitimately good.
