Today I wanted to share some recent books I have read and loved along with a list of my favorite podcasts. I also included a list of the most suggested books you guys sent into me.

You Should Talk to Someone– I loved this book so much and was sad when it ended. It is about a therapist and her therapist.

The Friends We Keep– I am currently halfway through this one and loving it. Jane Green is one of my favorite writers, her books are so easy to read.

The Last Mrs Parrish– Such a good read.

Something in the Water– I plowed through this book, it had lots of twists and turns.

The Idea of You– I loved this book. Maybe because I am rapidly approaching 40 and the idea of dating a 20 year old seemed intriguing (not that I would- haha).

Winter in Paradise– I love all Elin Hilderbrand books. This is part of a trilogy and the next book is released in October.

One Day in December– this was such a cute love story.

If you struggle with Anxiety I really liked both of these books. Most all they helped me realize the symptoms and ways I feel are normal side effects of anxiety and so many people deal with them. They also have great tips for dealing and living with anxiety.

Dare The New Way to End Anxiety

Stop Anxiety From Stopping You

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck – such a good read about living life and not worrying about the little things you can’t control.

Busy Phillips This Will Only Hurt a Little– I am a huge Busy Phillips fan. I think she is so authentic and funny. I loved learning more about her life- especially the Dawson Creek days:)

All Your Perfects– Colleen Hoover books are the best!! I loved this and Ugly Love so much.

Kristy Woodsen Harvey- The Peachtree Bluff Series | Southern Side of Paradise– this is a 3 part series and I loved each book. The perfect easy Summer reads.

How I Built This, NPR. Guy Roz is the host, he interviews a wide range of CEO’s on how they got started in business, how they failed and how they pulled themselves up. It includes people from, James Dyson, Kate and Andy Spade (sadly) Bumble CEO etc. 45 minutes in length.

  6. Dixie says:

You have a picture of Three Women but it is not on mentioned on the books you mentioned, nor is it on the list from others. Did you read it? Did you mean for it to be pictured, and if so what did you think? That is the one I as interested in. And the Crawdads one is very good.

  7. Erin says:

How do you do all you do and still have time to read this much?! Teach me your ways!! These all sound so good, can’t wait to add them to my never ending list of books I want to read

  8. Jamie says:

I absolutely LOVED the Goldfinch – it’s the best book I’ve read in years (and I’m super picky). Try not to get put off by its size (700+ pages) – and there is definitely a part in the middle where he’s in Vegas that can be a bit of a depressing slog – but in retrospect I see why the author did that as it makes some of the later action believable. I was so sad when the book was done.

As far as podcasts, I’m all over the place.
If you like politics, the 2020 Election Ride Home is awesome.
If you like history, the Bowery Boys is a fantastic podcast with each episode focusing on something historical in and around NYC.
Other ones I like – Before Breakfast, Spawned (it’s my fave parenting podcast though the Mom Hour is a close second), Happier with Gretchen Rubin, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, Pop Fashion, Ed Mylett Show, Fat Mascara, The Joy Junkie, and since you’re a book person, you HAVE to listen to What Should I Read Next?!!!!
