Scenes From Our Weekend + Peach Salad Recipe + Lilly Sale Starts Today!

Aug 28, 2017

Can y’all believe this is the last Monday of August and that Christmas is 4 months away??  Holy wow this year is flying by!!  Friday morning Frances Moon and I did a little shopping downtown.  I picked up this adorable blue and white ruffled blouse.  This was right after she told me my stomach was fluffy like a pillow:)  I got a size 2 in the blouse it ran on the large side.

Blouse + also loved the plaid blouse in the corner

Friday night the kids and I did a family dinner at Smokey Oak.  I love their chicken and bacon quesadilla- and nope I didn’t diet this weekend:)

After dinner we headed to Magonlia Bakery for some ice cream.  I was beyond excited when I saw they had a cinnamon toast crunch flavor.  It did not disappoint.

What I wore : Blouse | Earrings | Jeans

Saturday morning we did our usual stop at Glazed Doughnuts before the Farmers Market.

I am obsessed with the Bee’s Knees coffee at Glazed- so tasty!

Sterling loves to help me pick out my tomatoes.  It makes me so happy my kids get excited about gorgeous produce like I do.

I stopped in a new wine store that I adore- Monarch Wines.  They had an awesome wine selection and the owner Justin was so nice and helpful.  They offer wine tasting classes which I can’t wait to do!

Ready for Fall with this stripe peplum tee that is only $35.

Tee | Necklace | Sunglasses | Jeans

Saturday night we had some friends over to grill out.  If you have never done crab legs on the grill it is a must!

I made Ina Garten’s Parmesan Chive Smashed Potatoes which are always a hit!

I also made this Summer Salad was amazing and so easy to make.

Arugula + fresh peaches diced (I used 3 large ones) + 1 yellow onion caramalized (sautee in olive oil 10 minutes or until browned) + gorgonzola + crispy pancetta (dice and cook in a small pan with olive oil until cripsy, pat off extra oil) + fresh basil.  Layer all then drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Sunday we went to church.  Sterling dressed himself and I loved his outfit choice.

Wore this Mara Hoffman dress that is now on sale

Don’t forget the Lilly Pulitzer Sale starts at 8!  You will put in a virtual line but usually it moves fairly quickly!  You can shop the sale HERE.  I can’t wait to snag some new dresses for Frances Moon.

Happy Monday!

Looks like a super fun weekend! Does Matt ever keep the kids overnight? Maybe you leave it off the blog but it seems like you have them 95% of the time! You’re superwoman!!

I wonder that as well. Of course it is all of your private business but you posted the other day that your readers have asked for more personal posts. I think many would be interested how you are all navigating your new home situation. But that is up to you.

Hey Laura! The kids are with me the majority of the time. I am working on a blog post soon about our separation and divorce! But yes i have the kids most of the time:)

  2. Now that looks and sounds like a perfect weekend. I cannot believe August is almost over. 🙁 I am loving that little sliver of a peek at that plaid blouse. Did you try it on? I’m all about anything plaid summer, spring, winter and especially fall. 🙂

I love this blog and your instagram. Are you a single mom? I have never seen anything about your husband or the kid’s dad. The children are precious! FRances Moon is full of spunk and Sterling is just as handsome as he can be.
