Salted Caramel Brownies

May 28, 2020

These brownies are so dang easy and amazing! A box of brownie mix, caramel and sea salt. My sister made these a few weeks ago and sent me a picture and I was like I must make asap. So funny story she used dulce de leche which I thought I had but instead I had sweetened condensed milk. I quickly googled it and you can turn sweetened condensed milk to caramel. You put in a baking dish cover with foil, place on a baking sheet or another dish and surround with hot water and bake at 425 degrees for an hour. After that I used my hand held blender and whipped it until smooth. It was perfection. I like my brownies gooey so I always cook for less time than the box says. Try to eat just one, I dare you!

S A L T E D C A R A M E L B R O W N I E S

1 box brownie mix (I like the supreme kind that has chocolate chips in it )

caramel or dulce de leche

coarse sea salt

Mix the brownies according to the package. Place in baking sheet. Take a spoon and do dollaps of the caramel over the top of the brownie mix. Then take a toothpick and swirl the caramel. Sprinkle generously with sea salt and bake according to box (I always do less time for gooey brownies)

Making these today with a few variations. I added walnuts and melted caramels with heavy cream to make caramel salt. Can’t wait … 15 minutes.
